Has anyone had a killer give someone hatch over you for no reason?
Like you’ve done nothing wrong the entire game and the killer just kills/tunnels you and gives them the hatch? Very weird. Sometimes I feel it’s about race tbh cause there’s literally no other problem.

Yes, it happens. Maybe they've had a 'moment' earlier in the game or the killer found them a good looper etc. I wouldn't take it personally, some players just play like that for w/e reason.

I would not just assume racism tbh. It could be plenty of reasons other than that, like Phantom already said.
could also be because the other character is the killers‘ main, or they liked their gamertag etc. I mean, there have been 2 other survs that didn’t get the hatch as well, right?

Who said I just assumed racism? But when they tunnel me for no reason and give the other hatch who’s barely did anything all game seems like it could be the reason.

Ok was really wondering if it was just me. Just really annoying and it doesn’t happen when I play my other main.

You didn’t outright say you assume racism but you did say you feel it could be about race when there is plenty of other possibilities.
could always try to ask them in end game chat what made them choose them over you to give hatch to. I mean, most probably won’t answer, but if it is because of race, those idiots will want to let you know that (and if they admit to that you can report them)

Well i will take a shot here, first off which outfit were you wearing? Im not trying to victim blame, but if you are a bright flashy Claudette, i will consider you for hatch, a dark hidey Claudette and you get the hook.
Secondly as a base character and this goes for dwight/meg/feng/jake and more, unless you do something extraordinary, i hold prejudice because of past potato trauma due to matches when i play survivor and your character left me on the hook while they were stealthing around not doing gens while the killer chased someone else for no reason.

This has happened to me many times. I main Kate, Claud, and Feng. I know some Killers do this because they have a policy of giving the hatch to the last Survivor (I know because I asked them after the game why they gave the hatch to that person). If you appear to be a strong player, the Killer might try to get you out of the game as quickly as possible. Who's left when that happens? The one who was hidden. The one who avoided interactions. The one who didn't do much. My advice, ask the person. Would you want someone to assume your intentions or ask you to clarify?

Sounds stupid, and I don’t need hatch pity from killers. And no I don’t hide without doing gens. Won’t respond to you any further.

I didn’t say the last survivor. I said they tunnel me and give the other survivor hatch knowing where both of us are. And I can’t ask because it’s always computer players. I’m on console.

I was specifically referring to experiences i have had with other teammates in general, that post had nothing to do with you or your playstyle, which i couldnt possibly know anything about.
And i never implied that you needed hatch pity i was just giving you an example of my mindset when playing killer and deciding if/why i give someone hatch, that have nothing to do with race or sex because the i hold dwight and meg to the same reasoning.
No offense was intended, i give no apology, and feel free to ignore/not respond have a good day.

I recently played as Kate against Pyramid Head. He tunneled me the entire game (to the point the others--in solo queue, no less--physically blocked him to try to take aggro). He refused to go after them and killed me. I did nothing to him. Nothing.
I spectated. Wanna know what he did after that? He started farming with the others. I got next to nothing in points and they all got a ton. Why? No clue.
Another time, I played with someone who was convinced I was someone I wasn't. He was toxic to me as a result and refused to accept that he was mistaken.
Sometimes, people do things that aren't fair or make no logical sense to us.

As a killer main I can say yes I have done this but I have my reasons. If I see a person try to sabotage one of their own teammates then I make sure they don't get out. Plain and simple. I will give hatch or gate to the other person every single time.
I suppose some people have favorite survivors. They will let a Kate go over an Ace for instance. I wouldn't take it personally.

True, I had a doctor do the same actually. Uploaded it to my YouTube lol

Haha might be the same Killer! Mind linking the video? I'd like to see it.

so many times that claudette that was crouched in the corner the whole game will get the hatch given to them as I spectate wanting to rip my hair out.

I mean, if they focussed you out and let the other player go (despite having them caught and ready to be killed previously), then they must have had a reason for it.
Maybe they disliked the way you played or maybe the other person simply did something that they liked so much that they decided to give them hatch when it comes down to it?
I will usually just give the last person alive hatch, unless I had to fight very hard for the win and feel like I deserve the 4k or they were playing in a way that I found to be undeserving of hatch (e.g. being an antimate towards their team or trying to annoy me).
But sometimes you just find this one chad who had the balls to walk up to you and throw a pebble at you - and, at least in my opinion, this has to be rewarded.
I can't speak for everyone of course, but, at least based on my experiences, race has little to do with it.

Whenever two people are left, and I know Im going to win, it's easier to get someone out of the match and let someone get hatch. I dont "tunnel" or go for the same person over and over, I just take hook trades until someone dies and give the other person hatch.
It's nothing personal. It just speeds up the process, people want to move onto the next match.

Well that’s clearly not what I described but ok

You can move on to the next match without giving hatch dude. Don’t really care about your method of always giving someone hatch but those are the facts.

I was explaining what I do in that situation, nothing more, nothing less.

But you cared enough to respond?
Am I not allowed to share my experiences about DbD on the DbD Forums? Is that not allowed? Apparently so.
