Most enraging teammate moments
I'm usually pretty calm when it comes to teammates doing stupid ######### because I do it as well, it's only a game and all that anyway. But occasionally I will just get a teammate who consistently makes the most stupid, self-defeating decisions you feel they have to be on purpose somehow.
Was going against a legion, spawned with the Laurie in shack but ran from her in the opposite direction once I heard the terror radius and knew who it was. Legion gets another hit on another survivor before coming for me, I've been holding W long enough that her power would run out just before she reaches me but she makes a quick detour behind a rock where Bill was crouching, so I take hits 4 and 5.
That would be annoying enough except the legion has thana and the broken addon, clearly trying to get some thana value with it. I've said on here that I don't even see thana being useful on legion because you can just keep someone healthy. They all self-mended so the three of them are broken, I went down before mending so I'm not. So when I get unhooked I go over to Bill who's on a gen and ask for some heals. He keeps pointing at the gen and refusing. And so for the rest of the game we essentially volunteered to have a 20% slowdown instead of a 6% one. And every time Bill got hit he would insist on mending himself and he stayed broken. Awful experience tbh.
I feel better for having said that. Anyone else had some fun teammates in soloQ of late?

Recently I had a bill flashlight the moving killer instead of bodyblocking for me at the exit gate and I proceeded to die
also had like 5 games today where a teammate vaulted through a window I was approaching mid chase

Soloq teammates are being potatoes again i see

Several times now at end game I'll be injured and being chased by the killer as I make my way to the exit. The healthy survivor at the gate refuses to finish opening the door they have at 99% as I get to the door - they basically just stand there not even trying to finish opening the gate. They wait until I'm downed to do the final tap to open it. Had they just finished opening it as I was running to the gate, don't even have to take a hit, I would've escaped.

Been having way more survivors working with the killer to kill other survivors recently.

Always the Bills. There's something about that character, even when I play him for a daily or something I feel like my IQ has been halved
Needing a pet survivor to win as blight is a bit embarrassing, yeah.

We all make mistakes and sometimes misjudge situations, but two solo-queue players stick in my mind as WTH moments:
- I went against a Nurse the other day and had a Mikaela and Claudette on my team. Me and Ace were trying to plug gens but these two were just stealthing around the map and doing nothing productive. Anyway, I get downed and hooked but as the Ace came for me he got into chase and got downed. I then reached the second stage whilst Ace was hooked, meanwhile, Mikaela and Claudette were both injured and Mikaela proceeded to bless a totem for CoH and heal herself and Claudette. I had a matter of seconds left and Ace reached second stage. When I was sacrificed I decided to spectate and I couldn't believe what I saw: the Claudette ran up and farmed Ace right off the hook in front of the Nurse. Despite having no hooks, she left the Ace for dead and ran back over to the gen that Mikalea was on. Ace was sacrificed and then they were both just walking around the map and trying to evade the killer. Eventually, the Nurse got them both so I was glad neither escaped lol.
- The other instance was a Laurie who was the most selfish player I've ever met. Myself and the other two survivors were doing all the work (gens, getting chased, going for saves, etc.) whilst she'd just work on a gen for a little bit then get into a locker the second she heard a heartbeat/TR. The last gen pops and me (Jake) and Dwight were both on death-hook, whilst a Feng had been hooked once (no hooks for Laurie lol). Unfortunately the killer had NOED, and Laurie just camped the exit gate and set off the EDG whilst we all looked for NOED to try and save Feng from being sacrificed. We save the Feng, but Dwight goes down in the process and gets sacrificed. Me and Feng run for the gate but it was a Myers and despite NOED being cleansed, he pops T3 and downs me... meaning only Feng escaped ( which I was fine with as she was a great teammate). When I got to the ending screen with player information, I was NOT surprised to see Laurie running Self-Care, Left Behind, Urban Evasion, and Iron Will (basically a selfish survivor build). She only got like 11k points, and when Dwight called her out in the chat, it wasn't because she was doing a daily or anything, she was just like "every man for himself" lol.

Yeah just I hook them, they have a tendency to go and ruin the game for the others if you don't. Option B is to slug them and bleed them out, but honestly if they just want out of the game and are giving an easy hook and sacrifice, fair trade. I just go easy on the remaining survivors if they are being cool.

Last night we had a Claudette get to second hook state, and because of my Aftercare I saw everyone, including myself all working toward getting her, which means she ALSO saw we were all closing in to get her. Killer landed 2 hits during the attempt but we got her down with everyone still standing. Claudette gets off the hook, runs directly at killer, goes down and gets killed on hook. Thanks man, glad we put all that effort in.

Running around dropping all the pallets at the beginning of the match. I'm guessing they misread the challenge of drop pallets in a chase.

Prior to the hatch rework, when it would spawn before the last survivor was left, I was playing with a friend with two other randoms. We were down to the final gen, meaning hatch had spawned when the killer eliminated one survivor. My friend has committed to a gen and was downed as he finished it and was hooked. Moving into range to get a save, I watched the other random -- who had never been hooked -- sprint AWAY from me and my hooked friend (I was injured, and had no way to heal). The survivor definitely saw me, went right by me, and had too much distance on me to catch up to them to get a heal. Instead, they had booked it to the hatch, used the key they'd brought in, and essentially left me and my friend in a hopeless situation. They could have healed me, we could have coordinated a rescue, and all three of us could have gotten out, but their selfishmess gave the killer an easy 3K. :shakeshead:
Special props recently to another random (matched with our 3-person SWF) who, against a Plague and already infected, but not broken, cleansed on the way to rescuing me off a hook while I was fully infected. They immediate;y got re-infected the moment they pulled me off, AND they gave the Plague -- who was relatively close -- her power to immediately down both of us shortly after. Truly a 200 IQ play by them. It was almost as if they had never faced a Plague before.

About two weeks ago, I had a match where I made it to the endgame versus a Blight, but got hooked for the first time right as the gates were powered. There were two survivors at a gate very close to where I was hooked and one on the other gate across the map.
Blight goes after the Yun-Jin, who leads him away from the gate. Jake was hiding in the corner outside the gate and goes back to open the gate. He's healthy and I'm 15 meters away. Blight just downed Yun-Jin a fair distance away and picked her up, so he's assuredly occupied. It's already confirmed he does not have NOED.
Ignoring me on the hook, completely free for the save, Jake opens the gate and leaves.
Meanwhile, I rescued this Jake twice, healed him up three times, and bodyblocked for him the second unhook when the killer came back and tried to get him out - which led to the chase I eventually got downed for. People making suicidally stupid decisions is just another Tuesday in solo queue, but for this one, I was so pissed off.
I'm not sure if this one counts because I was the killer and it wasn't a teammate, but I was Plague and I had to stop and surgically remove one player because this Mikaela set up Circle of Healing six times. She wasn't just rekindling snuffed boons, she kept moving it. Meanwhile I had nine hooks at four gens left. I wonder why gens weren't progressing.
It wasn't even Shadow Step/CoH, it was just CoH. Pure Mikaela stereotype right there.

I played with a Nancy that got injured once and spent the entire game standing around the main building of Grim Pantry (you could see her from pretty much anywhere on the map). I tried to go do the gen up there, but she body blocked me and didn't let me go up the stairs.
I asked her what she was doing there and she said "I wanted to be healed," and I called her out for being useless. She responded with spamming "you died lol take the L you're bad..." when she had also died 🙄
Also more recently I had done 3 of the 4 generators my team had done, then they all tried to bodyblock hook for a guy that was still on first hook... against Starstruck. We lost that game, if you were wondering.

A lot of my dumb survivor experiences involve plague as well. I've seen infected & injured (but not broken) survivors selfcaring quite a few times, but often I'm the plague in those situations so I'm pretty comfortable with that happening.
Honourable mention to a recent Yun-Jin who made sure to cleanse before DCing
And yeah, a lot of CoH.

Legion proceeded to slug me until the end game collapse timer ran out.

I had a teammate rescue me from hook and then proceed to take the vault sandbagging me. If you really wanted me to die, just leave me on hook. People who unhook and then leave you to get tunneled are just annoying to be on the receiving end of.
Though last night I had a teammate ######### at me for being "bad" and went onto my steam profile to cry about how I have 3K hours. I had 2K less points than him, all the gens got done, and we all died because the killer slugged all 3 of us at the end of the game. But I guess he needed someone to ######### at since everyone else was crossplay.

Yeah, survivors healing while sick is a common one. Another is people cleansing right before they unhook a sick player or touch a dirty gen. There's not thinking a minute in advance, and then there's just not thinking period. Or not knowing how Plague works, because that's the only other way I can explain some of the stuff I've seen.
Legion's another common one for 'help, my teammates have no idea how to play against this killer and it's Screwing Me Over.' Or when you watch your teammate tbag behind a pallet against Myers...
2 -
Please don't slug them. They may have a reason for wanting out of the match. Yeah, most of the time it's just raging. But holding them up for four minutes isn't going to stop them in the future. And if they do have a legit reason, it's just the right thing to do. It doesn't really hurt your chances to win. So I don't think it's asking for too much.

To be fair, there are valid times to cleanse before unhooking a sick survivor. When a plague is hanging near the hook it's too unsafe to attempt a rescue while injured so you need to heal just so you can trade.
1 -
There are good occasions to cleanse and good ways of going about it but sadly I don't really see survivors being strategic about it all that often. It seems more a determination to always either cleanse ASAP or not cleanse at all, regardless of other factors in the match.
0 -
Yeah. I didn't remember to exclude that, but yes, there are times you have to cleanse in order to make a save. I'm more talking about random cleanses on the way to an unguarded hook. Or my favorite; touching a gen, getting sick, cleansing, and then touching the gen and getting sick again.
If they have an urgent need to get away from the computer, nothing is stopping them from physically walking away and just going AFK.

And? Does it hurt you in any way to just hook them? Or are you just that petty?

When I'm constantly subjected to this kind of behavior as a solo survivor and the game has become borderline unplayable? Yes, I am that spiteful. I am not going to enable ragequitters. Eat your DC penalty like you're supposed to if you want to quit a match.
2 -
Exactly. I said this in another thread, but I refuse to contribute to a meta where people feel like it's acceptable to just dip out on their team when things aren't exactly to their liking. If they want to leave, they should have to eat the penalty, at the very least. Feeling entitled to the killer helping them be a dick is laughable.
I can't stop someone from bailing on their team, but I am not going to be a party to it.
3 -
Does it do anything to prevent it from happening? Do you really think they'll be more useful next match because they don't want to be slugged for four minutes? No, it won't. You cannot force someone to keep playing a game they don't want to. It sucks, but you won't stop it. In fact you may make it worse because it makes them madder and they just ragequit faster

Had a Nea urban evase and hide behind every box and wall possible in the Game map for the whole game. Did nothing useful. How i know this is because i use aftercare and i had it active on her whole match. It was the worst urban evase spine chill selfcare gamer ive ever seen..
Today i had a Claudette who had no mither and some other perks and left behind.. she did 1 gen on that fight rest of the fight she hid. Didnt save anyone from hooks, didnt help other gens, didnt take protection shots nothing. So when i finally went on my last hook and 1 other was dying on his second hook i saw her hididng at the circus (clown map) and she was just pointing at me doing no movements to come save me..Luckily the demo found her and killer her after realising what she was doing and i dont even care he was hitting on her hook while she died.
This is why soloQ sucks..

It's just the simple things like, maybe take a hit since I equipped BT and there's a tier 3 myers behind us?
1 -
Then they eat a DC penalty...tada, mission accomplished
1 -
It slows them down so they can't join and ruin as many matches. With survivor queues being instant right now, the only limiting factor is how long it takes for them to die plus about a minute to load into a new match. Ideally, the wait causes them to DC and actually get the stacking penalty they're supposed to - and for people who had a sudden IRL situation come up, they don't DC habitually and aren't in danger of getting hour-plus bans from that.
Alternatively, sometimes people do start playing the game again once the killer has made it clear they're not acceding to the request to hook them. I don't even slug them most of the time - I only do that when they sandbag or get in my way. For the most part, once it's clear they want to die, I ignore them and let them follow me around begging for attention. They're stuck in the match longer that way. If I slug, then they only have to wait four minutes.
When they start sandbagging their team out of pissiness, then I let the teammates live but slug them out.
And honestly? I'm frustrated enough with these people that even if the only benefit I got out of it was spiting them, I'd still do it. Solo queue has been an absolute nightmare with how many suiciders I keep getting. I refuse to enable their behavior from the other side.

Had a few moments recently that hacked me off as a solo veteran.
1. Pallet saves - Is it only swf crews that take advantage of those? I've lost count if the times ive been downed near a pallet and I've crawled to it in the hope that the survivor 10 yards away uses it to get me a 2nd chance yet they stand and watch from a distance. I even had one in my last match standing near by and the GF knew what I was up to and kept trying to pick me up before backing out and chasing the 3rd healing survivor nearby. Eventually he downed the healer and STILL got back to pick me up whilst the other survivor hid behind a rock 🤣
2. Those that save you from hook midchase. This was worse before the BT basekit but still, the killer can easily chase after me still, delaying his attack by what, 6 seconds 🙄
