Dbd 1v1

By pure chance I ended up overseeing and timing a 1v1, it was between my former killer and a teammate. It was to settle an argument of skill.

It was a really fun entertaining experience! Is this a common way to solve arguments of skill?

What's the general opinion of 1v1s?

Kinda silly imho. Whats the point of a 1v1 when you have 3k hour in killer but 5 hours in survivor or vice versa. You'll obviously get stomped on the survivor side.

It could be an indicator of chase skill, but that's about it. Both sides have a lot of types of skill not directly related to chase.

I can see it maybe like a timer or something and if you run the killer around long enough you win. Whats do you think the ideal "good" chase time would be to run a killer around

The whole argument was my teammate calling our killer trash (after dying), then challenged him to a 1v1 (which my former teammate won) was just confused if it's a common occurrence

That so embarrassing! People are so fast to talk a big game when their ego is hurt. It's some weird sort of pissing contest for sure, but no less entertaining!

Extremely useful tool for improvement. Think about how often you encounter a really good Nurse and how long you spend in a chase against them in that game. Maybe 2 or 3 minutes? Think about how much better you can get in 1 hr just doing chases against a good Nurse.

I highly recommend them for anyone looking to seriously improve. They're great against Huntress, Blight, Spirit, Nurse, etc. Any more specialized/unique killer.

dbd is balanced around 1v4s so in a 1v1 you are proving if you are 4x better than the killer or not so I don’t really see why people do 1v1s

I don't see the point of 1V1s in a game with map RNG like this.

I played a Cowshed 1v1 with @TheGannMan and it was a very fun experience.

I would think being able to work around the RNG is a skill in itself, making use of what they have available. But yeah probably not the most exact way to measure skills.

So how WOULD you measure skills between two players?

    It sure was c:

Sometimes maps spawn with like 4 pallets total and some T&Ls (or whatever this new useless tile is). Skill can only go so far if the game gives you nothing to work with.

I personally think measuring skill between two players in DBD is kind of pointless. It's a busted jank ass party game. It ain't that serious.

It's common for crybabies who got their ego hurt to ask for a 1v1, yes. I've never obliged anyone who asked because it's a waste of my time.

1v1 is something I like to do with my friends now and again. I'm quite bad in chase as survivor so I typically lose, but it's something to fun to do in the game if you are tired of duo queueing or you want to play killer but still socialize.

I've never been offered a 1v1 from a stranger, and I really don't think I would accept one either. I love talking to people, but sometimes it feels like the majority of the Dead by Daylight community was raised on a steady diet of toxic waste and cranial blunt force trauma.

Pretty much, it's just "We all died, but I'm essentially saying it was my teammates' fault to soothe my ego"
