Who thought Garden of Joy is balanced and can go online?
this map is an absolute abomination and i don't know how you can still create those maps after fixing all the others that were similary broken? So many save pallets, a stupid main building with abuseable god windows, it's way too big...

the layout is weird to me
then you have the monstrosity of the main building that feels like old map design with the amount of powerful windows

I am always a fan of its patrician visibility balancing.

The main building is strong for survivors but I’m not sure if the map overall is, the outside feels kind of weak. It’s a bit like Dead Dawg Saloon where if you mostly ignore the main building as killer and focus on protecting the outside it seems to go a lot better.

thats true, for 4.6 those filler pallets with bad hitboxes can definitely hurt the slower killers and mommy

i think all of the autohaven and macmillan maps are allright, except maybe shelter woods which is kind of killer sided. They're all playable for both sides.

Don't forget about all the weird collisions.

Just use filters. My dad always harped on the value of brand names. I have a Sony TV that is over 20 years old. Likewise I have extreme brand loyalty with Nvidia.
These are the filter settings from a friend of mine with an Nvidia card.
As for the building - yes it is a little unfair. It's basicaly a "bamboozle" check. Do you have Bamboozle? If yes then the building might be fair. The building is also fair for "nurse". When people say Nurse nerf we need to account for the fact that some of the tiles in the game are only fair to killer if you bring Nurse.

This map is impossible in solo q if your weak link gets chased first .

If you're still having trouble as killer after all the buffs then it's a skill issue and you should probably reflect on the mistakes you made rather than blaming the game

Around the road maybe, but just yesterday had the most disgusting setup possible across from the house.

For many killers though they’re still too weak.

no, they are not, killers overall were extremely buffed, arguably too much even. You should practice more and focus on getting better if you're losing a lot of matches on that map.

Resting place and suffo pit are survivor sided. Though they are the most balanced realms by far, they just both have a map that is killer sided and survivor sided. Oh wreckers yard is the killer sided auto haven map.

Not so bad like the " Break 20 paletts before u get ur First down " Abdomination aka the Game
Garden of Joy is still playable except the Main Building but the Game is unplayable as Killer except u are Nurse i cant believe they through this Map is fine

Azarov's Resting Place and Suffocation Pit may have strong structures in the middle, but they both heavily favor a killer that closely defends hooks and gens. Sanctum of Wrath is quite similar to this as well, but it doesn't have strong structures for the survivors apart from sometimes having a jungle gym next to shack.
Play around your three gen on these maps, and survivors will be forced to come break it or die trying to do the last gen.

lol, i'm not having trouble, it's just a fact from a objective standpoint that this map is heavily survivor sided if you know how to run and chain those loops. I was playing a 110% killer btw

Buffs?? You mean the nerfs to pop and other gen defense perks that gave you a chance?Jesus talk about survivor main to the core.

At least there are pallets easy to be found.

if you get a hook inside your 3-4 gens than youre fine. They're very tactical maps

I haven't played it enough to form a strong opinion. I will say it seems way too big.

I play strong killers and do just fine, even with the changes no Trapper, Myers, Pig, or Trickster will be winning on that map. This is simply a case of map design not being much for strong killers yet being too devastating to weak killers.

This is why I run blindness addons haha

Yep. Garden of Joy is just more proof BHVR has forgot how to make good maps. The bushes eat M1s, frenzy hits and Bubba's chainsaw. The fences used for the tiles is easily seen over, you don't even need stretched res. The shack doesn't even rotate. It's just awful.
The worst part is the took the god window that used to be on old Haddonfield (that was disabled for months before they even reworked Haddonfield) and reproduced it on the bottom floor of the main house. The even made it worse by putting it beside an incredibly safe pallet that always spawns.
BHVR doesn't learn. They forget.

This map is a complete sh1thole. I hate it

There is this long, low fence directly in front of the main door to the main building (with a swing next to it), that got a palette in the middle. If you don't destroy this palette its basically an infinit and you can't catch up to the survivor running it tight. If you take the moment to break the palette, they can bolt into the main building and got a pretty good chance of escaping your clutches.
One of the few features I like about this map are the big holes and depressions on the map. Its kinda fun to run into them and go up and down, this is a feature I would love to see more often. But besides that I don't like this map too much. The far right side (if you look from the main buildings door) with the car and low fence and gym right next to it is also pretty strong and can waste a lot of time if you get caught up there.

Literally 2016 DBD, same thing with The Game. Might as well do the gens for the survivors

It's probably the map I despise the most after Lery.

Finally someone with common sense.

This.

This would be the case if the pallets weren't in such close proximity to each other. The loops are small but they chain so well into each other it doesn't matter.
I do however think the shack on that map is pretty well balanced. The window always spawns on the same side so you can't chain the window into anything (unlike the horrible shack window on the Chapel map the often is right next to another window)

Not only are those filters not exactly selling me on anything, but they don't affect what is causing the issue in that screenshot, which is the fact that it purposely mutes all base lighting tied to the map and relies solely on dynamic lighting within the area, which it also then forces a harsh trailoff on to prevent local lighting from being able to get rid of it. You cant even see the chest in that screenshot, let alone me working on it. Its not a gamma adjustment kind of issue, its straight up light not being allowed to exist within that area.

But you can make it to main from basically anywhere on map in a few seconds.

I am a main killer, and I find the map ok, I have awesome matches there quite often. My only problem is the window on the second floor that is right near a generator spawn. I hate that window, it is ridiculous how strong it is, especially when the survivor has Balanced Landing.
I also think there are many pallets, but most of the tiles are easy to shut for me. As I said, my only problem is the main building .

That’s true on Dead Dawg too but that doesn’t mean Dead Dawg is out of balance because of it.
0 -
Isnt the main here significantly stronger than main at dawg
0 -
Not really, the Saloon if you run it right has extremely strong loops. As a killer I mostly try and ignore the main building for that reason.
If Garden of Joy as a map is safer for survivors it’s not because of the main building, it’s because of the variance in the layout on the outside that some other people pointed out above where sometimes you can have two outdoor tiles chain together in a particularly bad way. Dead Dawg is more static so it’s more consistent in that regard.

there are way too many pallets that chain easily into another, the strange tiles are probably just a matter of learning but generally this map has only a few dangerous zones for survivors where gens spawn at the edge. The main building is ridiculous, saloon is weaker for me because it only has few options for the survivors that can be made weaker with wallbreaking. It's still annoying but i would say DD is generally slightly killer sided because of how small it is and you have great 3 gen potential. GoJ is very big and you can easily hold W straight to main and chain with the pallets outside. It will probably get easier once i played this more often but they need to change the windows in main and reduce the save pallets.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be totally shocked if GoJ is slightly more survivor sided than Dead Dawg for those reasons. The strategy I use is basically the same on both maps though as a killer.
