DC'ing should not spawn Hatch

This prevalent exploit has been a thorn in the side of the game and creates unhealthy situations for it. It's pretty much unfair that if there are two Survivors left, and one disconnects, the last Survivor has a chance to escape through the hatch.

This is especially problematic when the Survivors bring in hatch offerings to fix the location of the hatch spawn. This creates situations where the Killer should have gotten a deserved 4K but ended up getting a potential 3K because of an exploit.

So what would be the solution? It's as simple as this.

The Anti-Exploit

  • If there are two Survivors left in the trial and one of them disconnects, the following effects occur:
    • The Hatch will no longer spawn for the last Survivor left in the Trial.
    • The Endgame Collapse will immediately begin and the Exit Gates will become powered up.
    • The aura of the last Survivor will be revealed to the Killer for 10 seconds. This effect trumps the use of Perks and Lockers.
  • This mechanic only applies if the second-to-last Survivor alive is the one that disconnects. The other Survivors do not affect this by any capacity, nor do sacrifices or deaths.

Instead of rewarding players for exploiting a mechanic that in all honesty still should not be in this game, this new mechanic punishes players attempting to exploit the mechanic and pushes players from trying to do this in the first place, because now you're simply screwing over your own teammate by disconnecting for the Hatch, while simultaneously not gaining any Bloodpoints or Grade pips from your action.

Please implement this in a future gameplay patch.

no, this leaves room for survivors trolling each other by denying hatch.

    Instead we could do:

    • the hatch only spawns if 2 generators or more have been completed
    • if less than 2 generators have been completed the EGC will start

this rewards the killer for playing well as there is less RNG involved in getting that 4th kill. It doesnt get rid of disconnect scenarios but those are rare anyways. This is either something killers sadly just have to deal with or this calls for harsher DC punishments.

also someone killing themselves on hook is basically the same thing as disconnecting

slugging for the 4k is as annoying for the survivors to deal with as it is to deal with disconnecting survivors that want to give hatch

Slugging for 4k is exploit itself and should be fixed first

That just moves it over to survivor on survivor. Just went down as the penultimate survivor and for one reason or another you're unhappy with the last one's performance? Just DC to deny them a chance at hatch.

Just take a page out the book where the idea of making the hatch a "draw" or "null" result MMR wise and go further with that. Make it count as a kill in every way (emblems, BP, challenges, adept achievements and so on) so it genuinely does not matter if they escape via hatch or not in any of those ways.

No you're the problem if you're not satisfied with a 3k, maybe they're DCing because they're sick of people slugging for their 4k it's so obnoxious.. 3k is a win just hook and 80% of the time you will find hatch before last player anyway

This is so poorly thought out.

So now people can be punished for players on their team. That is actually awful. So not even talking about the fact that people disconnect due to connection problems, or sometimes have legitimate reasons for leaving. So now survivors have no way to escape because somebody else who they may or may not have any relation to decided to call it quits. Imagine if the game punished the killer, for playing properly and not stuffing around because a survivor disconnected 30 seconds into a match. Yes punish the other players for the actions of others.

First of all that's not exploit. Second, this is already punishing because if you do it once, you are banned for 5 minutes and only gets longer with each consecutive use. This could not be less of problem.

What's even funnier, is the reason this even happens is because killers slug people for the 4K. Killers constantly complained that keys and hatch was unfair, so they denied survivors this, and killers took advantage of this and started slugging the last 2 survivors just to get one extra kill. So instead of dealing with the issue that is causing this, killers slugging for the 4K. Which is an actual problem because the killers is holding players hostage by refusing to do their objective, you want to punish something that is already severely punishing, that is only happening because of a much bigger problem that is being ignored.

Here is a great solution. Make it so that if there are only 2 survivors, and the survivor and the killer downs one of them, and that downed survivor is not placed on a hook in 30 seconds. Hatch spawns in cannot be closed by the killer and both survivors are healed to full. This would fix 90% of what you are complaining about and survivors wouldn't have to deal with killers holding the game hostage. A universal win.
