Positive Rating Drop

Sounds like a good way to kill off a game that the survivors liked playing. Review bombing has long term effects. New players are more likely to steer clear of the game for months to come if it delves into negative reviews. We need more new players.

And now we're at 78%, and so it keeps going.
0 -
can you prove that?
0 -
It's that revolving door of luring new players in and get as much as of their money as you can before the devs piss them off enough and they quit.

And now the game's at 76% positive. Seems like a clear message to me. So in 9 days it dropped 7%, go ahead, tell me it "business as usual".
7 -
And now it's 75%, yup killing em softly.
5 -
And now we're at 74%

Great car analogy!

i love the "killing em softly" lolol

It's not review bombing, it's reviewing. We don't like the patch so we review as not liking it. See how that works? I know it must be hard putting 2 and 2 together, but try.

There are a lot of throwers, but very few compared to the people who legit get killed because the game is very broken right now. They've made it so that it went from relatively easy to get out, to extremely hard. Now I'm not saying this game didn't need a balancing, it absolutely did. What I'm saying is they didn't balance it, they made it unbalanced just on the killers end. They needed to tweak it, instead they went full on rework and broke it far more than it was before.
And you wanna know what the worst part is? They won't admit that they have no idea what they're doing. Just admit it, every single player who plays this game more than casually knows that they have no clue, just say it!
6 -
Because this game has become TRASH with the new update.

I would think it's quite significant considering how long the game has been available and thousands of reviews it has.
1 -
And now 73%, it's surprisingly not leveling out. This is a steep drop off. Losing 10% of your positive rating in under a month is pretty bad.
3 -
Unfortunately this is what the internet has become. Everything gets review bombed these days. I don't even read reviews anymore. So I can understand people being sceptical of how valid these reviews are

Here's the thing chases may be fun but as Killer long chases are not especially when you used to lose 1-2 gens. Killers also are penalized for long chases as well so that made the game unfun for them.
As it stands now the survivors that are crying are ones who haven't adapted to the new balance. I have faced survivors that still loop good and can keep the chase going because they have adapted to the patch, now making a mistake during a chase is punished greater now

Imo this is just a plainly wrong take. If BHVR hypothetically released a Bugging Of Kin 2 now and the game was literally unplayable and they buffed nurse people 100% would be justified in leaving a bad review.
If you had good times with a game and then some changes made you no longer enjoy it, it's 100% fair to review it badly.

Review bombing =/= changing your opinion on a game. Its done specifically to coerce the developers into changing to your demands. There is absolutely a difference between that and extremes like you offer. Its also worth noting thats why the ratings about specific chapters vary, negative chapters have negative reviews because they're negatively received... and yet thats also still not the same as reviewbombing the game itself.

Exactly. I still get run around pretty well by good survivors post patch, but these are the survivors who could run people around with a no perk/add on build.
What I am seeing more of is those survivors who were bad or just okay at looping now being unable to get away with mistakes and extend chases where they could before.
I think the problem is that many people who thought they were in the former group were actually in the latter, and reality is proving to be a harsh mistress. The changes haven't really been all that dramatic, really. The disgruntled people will get with the program, or they'll kick rocks, DBD will go on either way.
Also it just occurred to me I haven't rated either of my copies of the game, think I'll go do that.

I dunno. I changed my review for the game just because I really feel like it's not very fun anymore. I didn't "review bomb". I don't care if BHVR suddenly goes back on changes because of that. I just changed as my feelings about the game changed.
Generalizing it as review bombing feels misleading to me.

Ah the ol chicken little reflex.
The sky is falling!

The only way BHVR will listen is if it has a noticeable effect on sales. The Wesker chapter is going to sell better than poutines in Montreal at lunchtime, that's all they care about. A few percentage point drop in their score on only one of their platforms means nothing to them.

When you let one side by the power role for 4 years, then make things a bit more even - yes, that's going to make people upset.
However, it's better for the health of the game overall.
It's this.
A tantrum.
It's a bunch of people pouting because killers can at least stand a chance against SWFs at their MMR.

I usually see a lot of my friends leave negative reviews that are somewhat memey but they still play the game. I myself am more concerned with steam numbers than reviews.

Steam charts literally showed many people leaving after coh was introduced

WELLLLL not really, i took some months or more pause in the years because playing killer was just hell. It was just frustrating, not fun, you got bullied all time because survs were way too OP. And more the time passed, less i played.
Now, queues are longer, but i don't care because games are funnier.
My case.

I am a hit and run killer, i like to do this, but CoH is a plague, this is true...they should at least cut by half the healing time bonus.

There is an incredible amount of disinformation in this post. There are still more than enough pallets on the map to allow the team to finish gens, and any killer that relies on bloodlust is probably losing the game, since it takes so long to gain it. Shouldn’t the killer be able to track you while injured? You made a mistake by getting hit. It shouldn’t get easier.
1 -
I'm just convinced any complaints about bloodlust are reactive because they saw there was a buff that relates to it. You'd be surprised how many people dont even know that it resets when pallets are broken. One of the strongest aspects of the Windows perk is that it lets you keep a mental timer and then route safe pallets in accordance with how high their bloodlust has progressed, so you can force it to reset multiple times in a chase. That alone can create some massive sunk cost fallacy doubts in killers minds.

I just dont get it.. this patch didnt break the game this patch made it more fair.
Survivors lost some of their broken tools like endgame free escape DS and unbelievable broken DH. Dead hard by the way is still a very strong tool but more fair and requires some brain to use.
Before this patch i got so burned out from killing i stopped. I couldnt do it anymore.
Why is it that when the game is made more fair to the other side survivors just completely break down. Is it that you can't play without winning most of your matches and bagging at the exit gates?
There is 2 things killing side needs to be looked at and its nurse and blight i agree on those 2 they are very strong. Also camping and tunneling. Well i dont really do eather of them since i like to better myself by playing fair and learning to be a better killer. Camping a hook or tunneling freshly unhooked person doesnt make me a bettter killer.
Sometimes tunneling is needed though. I have plenty of matches where im about to lose 1-2 gens left and i have no one dead. I will start tunneling people at that point to put some pressure back to the survivor side. Camping is fine when the exit gates are powered and killer has someone in the hook and they want to secure that one kill. Not sure why survivors think they are entitled of free escapes.
Right now game is plagued by people who dc and quit on their first down and hook. This isnt the killers fault its the survivors who refuse to play when they go down. I had 3 of these matches yesterday in 2 hours.
Maybe this game was so long completely survivor sided that now that they are trying to balance things out survivor mains are losing their cool completely.

Wonderful idea.
I just deleted my positive review and left a negative one.
Thanks.

I changed my review from positive to negative because guess what, this game sucks now. Killers are jokingly overpowered now receiving buffs to perks, basekit, and gameplay changes meanwhile survivors nerfed into the ground. I've played this game since Day 1 and other than the first few months of release, I have never seen so many camping and tunneling trash killers. And they get rewarded for that play style now with generators taking longer and regression being more powerful.
This game deserves a negative review because it sucks now. Simple as that.

That patch was there to shake up the meta and to increase killer win rates as they were too low.

If there is anything i learned from steam it's that the ratings mean absolutely nothing.
Most of the time it's salty people throwing a tantrum.
Even in the case of positive reviews it's not really a good indication.
No dev is looking everyday to see how the steam review score is doing. It litteraly does not matter.

Nothing burger it's been one month since the changes and recent reviews are still mostly positive just babies throwing a tantrum

Starbreeze should have not sold all rights away to Behavior. Game would be in a much better place. Terrible decisions since Starbreeze was bought out.

This was the turning point for sure.
