You should never help teammates at endgame if you're solo

Title. They leave you to die as soon as their friend is safe.

Well maybe I'm OK with that

I trade. That's the point. When I rescue someone in endgame, I don't expect to live. That's the only kompromise the entity accepts.

You should think before you act\plan before you execute. Too often, have I saved people just to left behind, but I do not mind. However, in the long run selfishness will save you more than being selfless, more so during the endgame. But honestly I do enjoy when I get people who fight to survive or fight to kill all rather than secure one kill.

    Where's the fun in that?

I will die 9 times as a solo player going for the Hero save if that means 1 Hero save works. Nothing is better than being the only one who stuck around and finding a way to get both of you out in the end against impossible odds.

So saving in the end game depends entirely on how far they are hooked from the gates, and what killer they are. Just know that if you get hit before unhooking you are the next person to get camped. So now you need to body block and unhook properly otherwise the killer will just keep trading.

Not everyone is selfish, if the killer is no where near the hooked survivor, just gather up the courage and unhook them. It's more points in the end anyway. The only time I don't go for the unhook is if the killer is hovering the hook.

I'm trying to learn to not do that anymore. If I go and help and get downed, none of my teammates have the decency to help me back. It's just not worth it in solo queue anymore, I get left to die too often. You kinda just have to look out for you at the end of the match.

I only save at endgame if the hooked survivor is close to an opened gate but if not than I don’t take the risk.

Tbh i think that decision is up to the person self.

If they want to save the person on the hook during egc than that is up to them.

As survivors you always risk that people will leave you to die, so saving them during egc is a risk they take knowing this.

But not everyone is the same and even a 3 man swf will come back to try and get you out, because you helped them.

So just let everyone play how they want for themselves, whether it's solo or swf.

Depends on the situation, on the perks you have, and how much you are willing to risk to save.

I had this one game, a freddy hooked my last random teammate in the other side of the map.

I had Borrowed time, desperate measures and no one left behind.

I sneak close to him, point him to the far door and unhooked him.

8sec 14%haste with BT + NLB and an additional 7sec 7%haste of the BT, that surv ran like a madman to the door, straight past the killer.

It’s a lot less rewarding as someone who previously had WGLF permanently on the build, and more risky now - that’s for sure. We also get 7,000 survival points for escaping now, instead of 5,000. No more end-game DS, base faster killer attack cool down, etc. I’ll only try it depending on who the killer is (Bubba? Forget it.) and if I actively see at least one other survivor willing to try to do something with me.

Well game before posting this nea was on hook and his teammate tried the save but got grapped and I went for safe but had to do trade cause she was about to die. Then killer hooked the teammate and lifted me and carried to another hook and went to back for that hook but this time teammates got the yui out of hook and just left. Im probably stupid but went in my next game save one of my two alive teammates yet again in endgame when nurse hooked them I tried to save one so 2 of us could get out but nurse found were I was hiding and got the 4K.

I have my own rule that, the second the exit gates are powered, it's every man for themselves. I will only ever attempt to save someone after the gens are done if either, I don't care about surviving, or it directcly benefits me (distracts the killer away from me, or an unhook challenege). I don't expect to get saved during endgame either, if i get caught, i just accept my fate and try to stall the killer until the other can escape.

Usually people help each other and typically I do to. I have been in some nasty ones like a match where I feel I did 95% of the work (gens, chases, and unhooks) to straight up get left by a 3 stack teabagging across the map that didn't even bother to check to see if I could be saved.

Still I have had matches where I died a horrible death to save someone. I've had a David who I saved literally trample my slugged body a couple times to his safety/escape while I'm left to bleed out awhile/end game collapse killed by a salty Trickster staring me down the entire time. Worth it.

I'm also bias and more likely to risk it all for Survivors I like more. Elodie, David, Jake, etc. I'll likely go down for cause I like them as characters and typically as players. The legion of Fengs, Neas, and Claudettes feel less worth it since they are a dime a dozen. Meanwhile Nancys and Mikaelas I'll straight up leave.

Would rather die every survivor game I play after being abandoned by my teammates, than to be afraid to die a fictional death on a 10 minute game and act like a coward.

You can count on me. I will attempt a save. Even if we just die together as a result

I'm sure raise the points for escaping from 5k to 7k has nothing at all to do with this.

Tried to go back for someone against a Freddy.

Thought to myself, he's running at least 3 slowdowns (Eruption, Overcharge and Deadlock) surely he wouldn't have NOED.

    He did.

    noed why.PNG

mfw the gens took 12 minutes to do because our randoms couldn't hit Overcharge.

Yeah, it is way too risky to try endgame saves, especially if the killer is camping. I had a Nemesis match recently where he camped me in the endgame. The teammates came to save me, but of course one of them went down in the process. The other teammates then went to save that person, but again, another one went down while saving them. Rinse and repeat the hook trades until they all died, leaving me to escape alone. Needless to say, I felt pretty awful. Made me wish I had just killed myself on hook so they could escape rather than killing themselves trying to save me...

Escape gives you 5k points, unhook - only 1750 in total. So it's better to escape than to die for unhook.

No, he is right, at least in my region. you help them, they leave you. But that has always been that way.

It's true, but sometimes I'm okay with that. If I've had too many losses in a row and want to end my night with an escape, then I'll go. But 9/10 I don't mind risking my neck

  • My_Aespa
    My_Aespa Member Posts: 545

Well, depends on what combination of things you do, if you continuously stun and escape, you could get more than 5k. Just saying.

  • Junylar
    Junylar Member Posts: 2,308

Yeah, try doing all that during end-game, when all the pallets are gone

The few games where you’re successful saving someone and getting everyone out, is worth enduring the many times you sacrafice yourself and get left behind. Well, in my opinion any way. I just don’t feel right not trying if I think there is a chance.

Now if it’s Bubba- forget about it. I’m not even going to try. No sense in feeding- especially since that’s what he’s counting on.

Depends on the game man and who your teammates are, take risks considering what's available. If you can, you can, if you can't, you can't. You can't say it's impossible every single match.

Escaping now awards 7,000 survival points. If the gates are already opened, an unhook is worth 2,000 BP - and the additional 500 if it is safe.

Ah I never noticed, so it really makes you consider before going to the unhook now huh.

Unless i have a challenge that specifically requires i survive, i'm going to try and save my teammates

Winning as Surv is a group effort after all
