Trapper vs Hag

There is no surprise that Hag is way stronger than Trapper, even tho both are killers that put down traps. And I think it's pretty obvious why Hag is stronger than Trapper. But!

  • What if Trapper didn't have to walk around and pick up his traps? What if Trapper spawned with all his traps as Hag does? And if you pick a survivor out of a trap or if a trap gets disarmed, that trap will despawn so Trapper can use it again. Would that make him stronger than Hag or would he still be weaker?

And also! Personally, I prefer Hag over Trapper, but apparently people find Trapper more fun. Why is that?

Trapper would still be weaker because Grandma will always have her traps even when tripped.

But If the Trapper runs the Iri Addon that downs Survivors when they free themselves from traps and the Purple Addon that injured them when they disarm a trap then Trapper is very dangerous.

Trapper is less stressful with the trap placement, even though you're practically wasting more of your time to even gain a small amount of strategical advantage that you wouldn't really find to work at the most crucial of times. even though it is far more RNG-based and map-dependent.

Hag, on the other hand, has an extremely obvious trap. Paired with the lack of mobility and huge maps, you'll end up struggling early game against SWF who knows how to bait or when to disarm your traps. Not to mention that Hag has the least synergy with chase perks.

Trapper is like an extremely rigged slot machine, whereas Hag is like playing poker but everyone on the table is conspiring against you. Yes, even the devs.

Personally I’d love to see Trapper’s purple add-on where he carries all his traps at the beginning but can’t move them once they’re placed be his base kit and replace that add-on with something else. Honestly that variant is the most fun way to play him because it entirely does away with that whole part of the early game where you are lumbering around the map picking up traps off the ground just to have enough traps in place to be useful.
