Question about Better Than New
Am i reading correctly that they removed its ability to allow you to repair faster? Whats even the point of running the perk now

Yes, they did. So unless you prefer that your teammates now waste less time by cleansing pointless Dull Totems or opening Chests, you can just not run the Perk.

They removed it so they could increase the bonuses. 16% repair speed would’ve been too much. I am fine with it honestly, the perk is still better than it was before.

HOw is it any different than cleansing a Hex totem with overzealous that also give 16% gen repair speed bonus?

They should have just increased the duration by a good amount and I think it would have been fine.

Hex totems are a limited resource and are entirely dependent on the killer to bring. If I just don’t bring a hex perk, you’re never going to get that 16%. Healing is a more common action and you can also affect multiple survivors with the perk at the same time if you heal multiple survivors.
Leader is better for healing, but BTN is better for any other action it affects that takes place far after you separate from the other survivor. BTN also affects blessing now, which leader doesn’t. I really don’t think the perk is that bad now.
