How long does BT make base kit BT and Is Reassurance worth a perk slot now?
So would BT make base kit BT 15 seconds? Also 30 seconds isn’t gonna stop a Camper from camping you out of the game. It’ll just make the first hook stage a bit longer. Camping kills the survivors fun and killers aren’t interacting with the other survivors can’t imagine camping is fun either so why nerf reassurance. It encourages killers to leave and get into chase and allows a survivor player to actually play the game. Reassurance encouraged interactive gameplay I don’t understand the logic in nerfing it?

It would be 20 seconds now with the BT perk. 10 seconds base and the perk adds 10.

True I just don’t get camping during the start it’s so unfun chases are the best part of dbd

That’s wild does the haste double too?

There's valid reasons to camp an area from the start of the game.
Trapper and Hag are both killers whose power want them to stay in an area.
Large maps as killers without mobility benefit from staying close to an easier to defend section of the map. Then some maps like Azarov's are just designed in a way that really promote defending on side of the map ignoring the other.
It's not even just large maps. Dead Dawg Saloon is a small map, but has many gens that just aren't worth the time defending. Focusing on the gens you can defend and giving up the ones you can't is a smart play.
What is a problem and what a perk like reassurance shouldn't be addressing is Facecamping. That is something the devs need to make base game changes to.
Reassurance with the changes is a fair yet strong perk. A solo player is capable of extending hooks by 30 seconds each up to 6 times. 30 seconds is 50% of a hook state and 3 minutes is not an insignificant amount. Obviously you have to save your teammate in order to use the perk again, but that's just a healthy design. Still very devastating to a killer who decides they just want to camp out a survivor while not completely killing the strategy (some people will hate to hear this, but camping is valid outside of the facecamping issue).
Reassurance on the ptb gave no real incentive to actually unhook the survivor which just ends up promoting letting one person on hook die by stalling out their timer so that all gens got done. While that deals with facecamping, it's just creating another issue where the camped survivor is not being able to engage in anything and is unable to be eliminated.

Killer mains cried and won. I use to play both but not any more. I had one last hope for survivor. Been sick to my stomach playing survivor for the past couple of months and started to play killer only just about. Now I'm sticking with Killer except for Rift challenges. When a Bubba is face camping, just realize this. They will NEVER DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT SO ENJOY THE INTERACTIVE AND FUN GAMEPLAY OF HOOK SIMULATOR.

Devs are terrified of engaging with camping in a meaningful way. It's the bread and butter play for some or most players. The 30s are a joke, and the nerf was more about appeasing killers than being worried about "abuse." If a killer is camping me and someone has Reassurance, I'll be delighted to stay on the hook for 30 minutes if it means everyone else escapes. There are other approaches to avoid the abuse they claim to be worried about. Add a Skill Check for each Reassurance applied; you can miss it, and it will resume the typical hook sequence. You could also add the Active Ability for a Survivor to decline Reassurance.

This was well said you should make a discussion about it and put it in ptb feedback <3

They always do :(

Thanks, I will do it now. It is a pretty good suggestion and would eliminate the abuse factor they pretend to care about.

Yes you run at huntress speed for 20 seconds. It’s actually going to be pretty strong now.

Bring Guardian as well if you want a 'Run Barry Run!' build. 4m/s + (4*0.1)+(4*0.07) = 4.68 m/second for 8 seconds and then 4.4 m/second for the next 12 seconds. Two perk slots but the unhooked survivor shouldn't have issues getting somewhere fast. Bring No One Left Behind for a total meme build (4.94 m/second upon unhook) in the end game. Bonus points if the unhooked survivor has Hope active (total speed of 5.22 m/second) for 8 seconds and then dropping back down to only the Hope boost over 20 seconds.
Any Killer who's not throwing by trying to tunnel will go for you but the unhooked survivor is pretty sure to love you after.

A lot of players are leaving the game, devs can abandon solo survs all they want. It’s their problem, not mine. I won’t return to this game until they help solos, and reassurance will make solo games worse than before, you’ll see it

Yay more band-aid fixes that don't actually fix the problem. 🙄

Honestly, summed up my feelings on the Reassurance changes pretty well. Nice.

I am very much hoping that BT will add another 10 seconds, so it ends up being 20 seconds. Otherwise I don't think that perk will be used a lot anymore at all. It's just nice people won't depend on BT as much anymore.
Reassurance will still be good as well, I am pretty positive. The nerf was just completely unnecessary, and sadly, it didn't get any compensation buffs either. So I am definitely disappointed by the nerf as well, even though it will still be a decent perk.
But to be fair, I want them to address camping at basekit anyways. They have now done this with tunneling, which is fantastic, so I hope the same will happen with camping soon as well. Doesn't need to be crazy changes, just enough to give survivors a fairer chance at fighting back and winning against a camping killer.
