RIP to the perk which was about to stop facecamping once and forever
Now Reassurance isn't gonna do anything really useful in that regard. It was about to be a perk which could possible change the least fun aspect of the game for the better, now this chance is completely gone. The excuse "it could be abused to held survivor hostage on hook" is really not believable and absolutely impossible to do in a real match. The killer has the opportunity to kill the Reassurance user. Nothing has been done about survivors (or killers) bodyblocking other survivors and holding the game hostage, and there're still cheaters who are regularly holding the other players (mainly streamers) hostage, but there was a decision to nerf a perk which could've been probably the most useful perk released for the survivors in a long time, not cool imo.

Still very strong, still heavily counters camping. Dunno what's the issue.

Hook states shouldn't be indefinite. Full stop. The nerf was a fair one. The perk is still extremely powerful.

Not the facecamping tho which is the main issue.

They aren't indefinite if you just go for the other survivors lol.

It still hurts facecamping. If even one survivor uses Reassurance they can extend someone lasting on hook 30 seconds, and 30 seconds is a pretty long time for the other survivors to keep working on gens if the killer is literally just standing around face camping the hook.

Hackers can join games, even as killer. A group of hackers can take people hostage.

The nerf wasn't that bad. Its still an okay perk.

It hurts, but it doesn't counter it. 30 seconds is 1/3 of a gen.

I literally just saved someone who was about to go into struggle by leading the killer away from the hook but instantly activating the perk.

Nothing will entirely stop killer players who really just want to facecamp from doing it short or a total overhaul of how player elimination works.

No way!!!!!!! You just opened my eyes!!!
On a serious note, how is that even remotely connected with Reassurance? Hackers can hold you hostage regardless of the perks.

While holding game hostage and the perk itself are two different issues - Reassurance in its current form isn't really any different. Quite honestly I'd be pretty mad at the survivors who are unable to get anything done while prolonging me to experience the most boring game of being held onto a hook. At that point they're enabling the killer if they can't do gens.
The only thing I'd change about Reassurance is revealing the killers aura if they're nearby so that survivors not nearby know to do gens. Because otherwise it's honestly a pointless perk that doesn't solve anything. It should be teaching survivors to make use of the time the killer is wasting while camping. Not give the person on the hook the longest afk game of their life.

they should atleast boost the range a bit 6m is kind of bad.

Because its not as obvious when the game itself is allowing you to do so. Lobby hacks arent detected very much, so to have a method to hold a streamer hostage with literally no visible ingame hacks?

reassurance is not even nerfed, just that people can't "abuse" it anymore.

It was never going to stop facecamping, lbr.
In order for that to happen with the ptb version of it you'd have needed two people near the hook, and one person on gens, making the two near the hook and easy target for the most common facecampers. So, no, it would not have stopped facecamping at all.
if you want to stop facecamping, we ought to make that stop a fiddly mechanic, not a perk. It IS possible, but the question is if bhvr WANTS to do something to lower frustration
