A post from a biased 2016 nurse main about MMR and balance being genuinely serious for once (rant)
Hey guys, been a while since I made my joke nurse post of the week! Just wanted to say I have been working on something, and I am sorry to inform you all that I believe MMR has been lowered to an amount that is laughable.
I have played 1400 games that I have been "streaking with" and my highest streak is currently
1123 4ks in a row, (Otz rules, I used basement hatch spawning offerings and no way out against stronger looking teams to secure the 4k for the highest MMR gain possible, I gave hatch 23 times and they escaped through hatch 11 times)
This was ALL DONE ON A FRESH ACCOUNT NURSE.
WHY AM I GOING AGAINST 500-1100 HOUR SURVIVORS WITH A 93% 4k RATIO????? Yes I did get people like Zubatlel in my game here and there, does it mean the match was any harder? No it was one survivor, not all 4
https://dbd-stats.net/profile/76561198254309771
I streamed some of my new streak last month but the VOD's have been sadly deleted, so all I can give you is the DBD Stats lmao. (Im at like 124 4ks rn)
The nurse will always be broken because this game is played casually by many players, and nurses, let's just say, if she wants you dead and they are genuinely good at the killer you will NEVER win. The survivor VS Nurse matchup is completely dependent on both players and the survivor will ALWAYS be caught, however, mind games are possible but they are very very advanced and hard to think about in chase, making it very hard for survivors to "mind game". When survivors know how to play against a nurse, its very very apparent. Most survivors are like "LAWWWWWL NO COUNTER DUD I RUN STRAIGHTLINE AND LOOK BEHIND ME MAKING IT OBVIOUS IMA DOUBLE BACK LAWWWWWWWWL"
Nurse mindgames are very 50/50 based when both the survivor and killer are very good. Just depends who makes the best read
Now, what needs to be butchered into the ground is nurses addons, range is too good with map offerings if you choose the rightmap, and is almost unplayable for the survivors unless you are the worst nurse in the game. Just remove them or increase blink recharge time but make the nurse slightly faster when regening those blinks (to make up for the insane recharge time but great range)
Blink recharge needs to be toned down a bit, the yellow is fine but green needs to go down 5%. However, with the new blood web's they are very hard to find now consistently.
base nurse is actually pretty balanced ngl lmao (actual skillbased, if you make mistakes ur actually punished if the survivor is good)
or rework the killer entirely (no not wraith style for the love of god)

1123? Did I read that right?

I should probably say more than yes, I have played nurse since 2016, legit day of her release for years lmao

Usually I don’t believe claims like this but with that in mind and the fact that you used a fresh account, and the fact that it was nurse, I actually believe you.

I'm sure this will go as well as the rest of the Nurse threads do.
Chad move for actually playing that many games and giving stats to back it up.

I wanna do a no perks or addons streak at the "Highest MMR" but is unbelievably stressful (but fun) because you are constantly minmaxing and keeping so much in your brain because one fuckup and one bad chase with a bad hook location to pressure makes it so so mind breaking to play sometimes. My no perks or addons streak I tried after patch because it was playable with nobody using dead hard as much. I got to 63 and haven't started it again in like 2 weeks.

I appreciate you linking the stats.

Bold claim to backup but thankfully I can

mmr is as broken as ever. I was surprised how long it took Dowsey and friends to stop getting new killer players when they did the recent Hardcore Survivor series. They got very few experienced killers until more than 50 straight matches of everyone escaping. This was playing on new accounts as well.

I should probably mention my 3 most used builds were
- Hit and Run (Personal Favorite) Thanataphobia or No Way Out, Discordance (Used for knowing where everyone is, when proced can literally 1v9 a game if you hook correctly within 2 seconds, along with thanatophobia stacks) Devour Hope, and Hex Undying. (Hex undying can literally give u wallhacks at most loops LMAOOOO)
- Utter Confusion (2nd Favorite) Monitor and Abuse, Hysteria, Hex Plaything, Furtive Chase
- Instadown Central Devour Hope, Haunted Grounds, Make Your Choice, Anything else you want I like Thanatophobia

I will say the 17k Blink Attacks certainly back this story up.

Not completely doubting the claims, but nothing in the DBDstats you have linked proves the streak

I play a little bit of hit and run nurse, how could you tell
1 -
I can prove atleast 963 of them, the survivors killed in endgame collapse were me from closing hatch most of the time!
Edit: I wonder how many 5 gen 4 sacrifices I got tbh

Is there anything interesting you feel you learned by doing this?
Like outside of what you wrote in your post, is there anything that surprised you or made you rethink the game? I feel like doing something like this would have some surprising things for sure

Oh and let me give you some math, lets say I played all 1123 games, thats 4492 survivors, not counting DC's, hackers, people giving up and letting me down them without blinking, I have rounded, 17k blink attacks, lets say I downed everybody TWICE, at full health state chases (which was never happening with my builds, and instadowns, etc) with slugging them ONCE for another blink attack (not counting regular swings) thats 22,460 blink attacks. (I don't know if misses count as blink attacks)
That is being incredibly generous as I had a ton of hits while carrying survivors, while they were dropping pallets, deadzoning people, and etc. Most games were over in 10 blink attacks at 5 gens.
Do some math and take some variables into the equation and you can see that it adds up

How to balance nurse that casuals have chance. Those good survivors are so rare but with nurse you can get decent pretty quickly. Survivor to get good takes 3000 hours+. But well there is still no hope for soloQ my teammates die even if the nurse is bad and I can loop him over 2 minutes. Nurses camp and tunnel usually so that does not help.

Yes actually, when PC only queues was still a thing I was trying to find a unique build and I ran mostly information perks FOREVER, not because I couldn't find people, but because I like to shape the game how I want to play and predict survivors decisions before they even make them.
Lets say I am running my favorite build, which you can find somewhere in the replys, and I am playing on macmillan estate, suffocation pit, and I spawn on the coal mine side of the map. I already know people are going to be spawning in either two places, the top right near shack spawn, or the edge of close left top of the map. I want to pressure the top right side because it is MOSTLY a deadzone, and they will be downed instantly, as that spot is almost unplayable. If my discordance procs like it usually does in the topright I hit one person, pretend not to see the second, down him, get a spot on the TOP LEFT side of the map because a survivor will be at the hillside generator (if it is generated that way) and get them off that generator and potentially start another chase, thats 3 survivors I know where they are, assuming I havent seen the 4th he ran towards the south side of the map. Let him get that generator and the injured guy either A. Stayed on a gen, or B. Ran to the opposite side of the map. That means that they are zoned off because I will be able to contest the unhook because its a high traffic area. Down the logpiles guy, and hook him towards the SOUTH SIDE OF THE NORTH SIDE ZONE to create a double hook, impossible to beat pressured scenario where the game is ALREADY over, within 30 seconds.

I would be too biased to suggest any sort of changes, other than addon changes. As if MMR existed and was good it would be fine at higher levels of play because casuals would be where they should

Oh incase I didn't answer your question
Information = pressure when applied correctly and you understand the game at the highest level you will never lose
Edit: The game is not very asymmetrical if you don't want it to be ;)

That is still irrelevant to prove any of your claims especially the "streak" part.
You only have proved that you have won at least ~1100 matches including at least 963 with 4Ks. But there is no proof that this was a streak, and we are also missing the total game count. It's impossible to draw conclusions from this. You could have played another 1000 games which were 0K and you would have the same stats.
Again, I don't think you're lying, but I'm surprised that so many people are thanking you for sharing "evidence" and yet these stats don't help proving any of your claims.

Looks like I gotta do streak two electric boogaloo and stream 1123 mind numbing nurse games of 5 gen 4ks in 2 minutes with a intense game that opens my braincells after 500 matches and makes me a teeny bit worried

Sorry for so many mentions, I made you a very professional map of my thought process

I don't care if you are literally the god emperor of Dead By Daylight, a player so incredibly cracked that you could 4k with perkless, addonless clown on old Haddonfield for 50 games in a row, there is no way you got 1123 4k's in a row, the amount of luck that would require is quickly approaching Dream levels of luck, you should submit this to Speedrun.com to see what insane number they would calculate, I'll take a shot here: maybe 1 in 10 trillion?

It's your claims, so it's your job to prove it.
FYI I don't think it's possible to achieve such streak, regardless of your skill, just for anxiety reasons. I recorded a 30 win streak with Nurse and I was already feeling super tense. After such long streaks you start getting irrational fears that the streak will end and ruin dozens of hours of effort. Any small mistake, a second of inattention, a connection problem, could force you to restart from the beginning.
I don't think it's possible to record and win 1000 matches in a row. You'd have to literally be an athlete just to live for years under permanent anxiety.
I have no opinion on Nurse being OP but let's not make absurd claims. A 10 win streak should already be proof that MMR is not working, no need to go up to 1000.

Your brain becomes numb to this game after you realize how fundamentally easy it is at its core and win 99% of your games with stomps.
Edit: You can doubt me or not, but if you go and look at the stats of sacrifices and kills before and after endgame collapses, the average time of a match, how many hatches I closed and how many blink hits I have done you will see that it comes out pretty well

Also I was a apex predator, valorant radiant, and soon to be top 500 overwatch player I do not get anxiety over this game LMAOOO

Good answers, much appreciated

Anytime, hook priority is simply anything that zones off a survivor and makes it a almost not impossible, but game ending or game altering hooks that give you immense pressure with proper planning to still be able to chase, and contest generators. If you do this with every single map and adjust accordingly you will legit start 4king at 5 gens in seconds with the right playstyle.

This is something I’ve tried to make clear over and over but that this forum basically refuses to accept.
There literally is not enough players at absolutely insane skill levels to consistently give full even-skill lobbies. That’s not a balance issue. If you match a Chess grandmaster against a high school chess club, no duh it would be a landslide stomp. The odds of finding enough players on of them same skill level in the 4:1 ratio needed in the same region in the queue at the same times is basically a miracle.
Furthermore, how different Nurse is from other killers ends up with a lot of survivors not even trying to learn how to actually play against her.
Basekit Nurse is a complete non issue.

Agreed, I brought up somewhere in this mess that it turns nurse into a balance issue because we cant go against those grandmaster players, well me atleast. I faced one 4 man legacy squad at like 3 AM doing a 24 hour because I was trying to end my streak, and they lost btw, but it was one of the most FUN matches I have ever played.
Since there isn't enough GOOD nurses, survivors will never be able to get good enough in my opinion for nurse to be fair to the average player (most people blow the nurses they face way out of porportion)
based take btw
