Do you think Wesker stay "fun to play as" or will turn to "Not fun to VS"?
So since the PTB I read many Survivors happy for him and Wesker being fun to VS.
Now... Do you think this will remain or he will turn into the other direction after a while? (Not being new anymore after he is in game for few weeks).

Depends on who plays them and just time. People used to love playing against blight now everyone hates them even though the only changes were really QOL probably because he is just more fun to play so he is more common and because everyone thinks blights are sweatlords. So if Wesker starts to be played a bunch and then people who play to win start playing him well then it could easily become a repeat of blight where over the course of a few months he goes from loved to hated.

I'm not a fan of playing against demogorgon he's oppressive in chases especially with STBFL, wesker is similar so I'd say probably not fun to VS after a while, you get injured if you're too close to a vault now and they increased his mov speed between bounds

STBFL?
Edit: Oh, never mind. Came after a sip of tea. Save the best for last.

It was insanely fun to play as and against Wesker in the PTB, even though he was bugged. Now they have fixed his bugs and also made some QoL changes. The only thing I'm concerned about is the colission change. We will see how it will affect him.
As I mentioned, he was also a lot of fun to go up against, but they changed something that could have a bigger impact than we expect. He will now injure survivors if they are near you after a pallet/window vault. We don't know exactly what that means. How close do you have to be to get injured? What happens if you vault over a pallet/window and Wesker immediately follows after you? Do you then get hurt even though you tried to get away from the spot immediately?

I never played ptb but just from watching he seems super annoying to play against.

"those Survivors" will eventually move on to getting him nerfed once they're done with the nurse and blight, just like they moved on once spirit got hers, and they'll just go down the totem poll from there. probably pinhead and legion next since they're pretty decent at stomping pubs. ideally artist should be looked into first, but since no one plays her she flies under the radar.

From my experience he is "unfun to face" like nemmy, but both are fun to play.

He is a good killer, so of course survivors will cry. They do that even when the killer sucks, to be fair. But Wesker is genuinely good. We are going to bathe in the Nile of salty tears come release.

He's a killer with voice lines, those are always fun to against regardless

I think lots of players thought he was fun to VS was because of novelty.
Once the novelty wears off and everyone has heard his voice lines dozens of times, will they still consider him fun to VS?
Only time will tell.

I don't see how these buffs would make him unfun to go against. He still has the fundamental aspects that make sure a killer's anti-loop isn't too opressive if you ask me.
I think what is most key here is the long charge time of his ability. 1,5 seconds is arguably longer than any other power I know at the top of my head. He also has a 1,5 second cooldown after canceling his power, which is also very good and important.
The second important aspect is that he can't injure survivors over pallets, windows, or objects. He does have counterplay against windows and pallets, by being able to vault them, but the cooldown makes sure it isn't overpowered. In fact, I am positive that part of his kit will allow for interesting mind games at pallets, especially when they aren't dropped yet. It's one of the best aspects of his kit if you ask me. It will be a bit similar to Huntress, as in deciding whether you want to drop the pallet or not, but the requirements for that decision will be different.
The collision reduction and his faster movement speed in between bounds will help him a bit at loops, but I don't see those making too much of a difference. His power will most likely still be very weak at circular shaped loops, for example. And still strong at tiles like T-L walls or Jungle Jyms, but surely not without it's counterplay.
Same goes with being able to hit survivors that are vaulting, which in general was just a bug most likely.
And his hitbox will also be reduced a bit, so survivors have a slightly better chance at dodging his dash, which will add a bit more counterplay to him. If anything, I could see his power becoming a tad weaker at the loops he was strong at, because survivors will have a slightly higher chance of dodging Wesker, but stronger at loops he struggled with.
I guess the one thing that could make or break his fair counterplay is the hitbox size while or after he vaults a pallet or window. If it's too big, that could be a problem. If it isn't, and I doubt it will be, then he should be fine.
Of course I do not know for sure, but I am fairly positive he will still be very fun to go against. He was so fun to go against on the ptb, at least in my opinion, and I don't feel like any of the buffs should change that in any impactful way. If they would have given him 3 charges for example, now that would have been a different story. But luckily, they only buffed him carefully.

He was extremely fun to go against for me. He actually has a fair amount of counterplay at loops, because he can't ignore pallets or windows, and has a long charge time, so I don't see how that would be so annoying to go against.

I don't think that's fair. Demogorgon is not weak in chase and he is like the most beloved killer to go against.
People complain more about killers like Artist, that while not op, don't allow for a lot of counterplay. There isn't that much survivors can do against someone like Artist to have an impact on the duration of the chase. And that's what people don't enjoy a lot of the times.
And I do not see that being the case with Wesker, even considering the buffs he is getting.

7 minutes. 7 minutes is all I can spare before I'm sick of the voice lines.

Wesker is similar enough to Demogorgon in chase that I'm pretty sure survivors attitudes towards him will be mostly on par, which is good because from what I can tell survivors tend to like going against Demo. 🙂 (Personally just as a rough guess I would rate Wesker as high A-tier as a killer and Demo as either high B or low A tier in terms of overall effectiveness simply because Demo is better at tracking and Wesker seems better in chases and I think the latter slightly outweighs the former, but we'll see how it goes.)

No killer is safe from becoming "not fun to play against" except m1 killers with a weak power
0 -
Not really, I don't find trapper or clown fun to go against
3 -
I mean isn't every killer complained about not being fun? It just depends on how many people, and I don't think he'll get nurse levels of complaints. But don't be surprised if you see a "Wesker is OP" thread pop up on the front page.

I'm pretty sure I've seen complaints about every killer with the famous survivor line 'not OP and totally beatable but needs nerfs because unfun!" Wesker will for sure fall into this camp due to his high mobility of his dash, even disregarding his anti loop with it I can already see the "can't even get away from a Wesker" posts coming.

Not like it matters. Fun is irrelevant as long as it's balanced.

I will point out that I didn't play the PTB, so I don't know how much what I dislike actually affects gameplay. However, in general I'm really not a fan of the hindred status effect, it always feels awfully dull and sleep inducing for some reason. So as of now, I'm not really excited by his release (but I'm never really excited by new chapters to begin with)
I saw some footage but only from Wesker's pov and I didn't see any survivor gameplay

The Hindered only applies at max infection which should pretty much never be happening anyways in chase.

I heard that the hindred at full infection becomes stronger, but it's there since the beginning; but again i didn't play ptb so it's just hearsay
