Project W is survivorsided
Well, maybe BHVR thought the latest killer-patch were a little bit too opressive, but with this patch, they have done a great job - at least for survivors.
You have a new, in the right hands, broken Combo, called Hyperfocus + Stake Out (from Detective Tapp). Together with Built to Last and a Commodious Toolbox (for faster Skillchecks), maybe on an indoor-map like The Game for beeing in the Terror-Radius almost everytime to load your Stake out, Gens fly in under 50secs... in the right hands. Well, when I play survivor, this is really nice, its fun getting rewarded for hitting the Great Skill-Check most of the time... with a backup-plan called Stake Out. 5 Stacks on Hyperfocus are warmly welcome at every gen XD.
Reassurance is a perk who gives a survivor Immunity at the hook. Well, its unlogical, if u have a hook through your chest, you bleed and lose inner strengh... at least as a human, but lets be honest: The Survivors are superheroes.
At least they removed the broken "lets keep the guy at the hook for 50mins, if we want to". Will it help against camping? Maybe, we shall see. Personally I can see Endgames become more boring, because the killer will camp the hook after all gens are done and the doors are at 99% for sure. Where should he go? Out with the dog? XD
Here comes the important part of this thread. Lets see how many of you actually read the following sentence or just write things like "Killers are back at crying" or whatever:
I think Reassurance is a good way for stopping Facecamp-Bubba or Hillbilly - and thats the important part, however, Hyperfocus + Stake Out is really dangerous.

Hyper focus just shouldn’t work with toolboxes and it’ll be fine

I am suprised Hyperfocus wasn't changed since it was known to have strong combo.

I'm honestly surprised that they didn't change it before it went live. We all saw the strength of it and plenty brought up concerns in ptb feedback.

Yes, the new OP killer who can freely charge and attack at the same time, basically ignoring the concept of distance, is surely survivor sided.

Are you honestly complaining about Wesker, a Killer that is pretty bad and is bugged to hell and back?

At least they changed blast mine, which was broken for too long /s

Isn't the point of the perks to have some great combos sometimes ?
Plus if you're not in a small map / against a killer with a large terror radius, you'll actually have to work for those great skillchecks, which not everyone can hit consistently.

Well, Survivors have weapons: grenades and landmines, knives and tools to destroy hooks. Also comms 📡.
And vests is the form of basekit BT and other endurance and healing mechanisms.
Plus Boons, powerful Hex perks.

Trust your friendly killer mains when they like a survivor perk. It usually means the perk is very very strong and has lots and lots of value!
Killer mains LOVE Reassurance. I wonder why. Killer mains also love new DS, new Pharmacy and new Iron Will.
Always trust killer mains judgement.

Yes, I think so too. Sure, sometimes a combo can be busted, but I am against nerfing everything just because someone found a clever way to get value out of a perk in another way then what was originally intended. Survivors are much more easy to monitor, because they are all just skins and have the exact same abilities. With killers it is a bit trickier and I think BHVR should just ban certain perks on certain killers, instead of nerfing the perk itself. This will lead to much more design space when you can play around with some fun combos for the weaker killers without always having to take the Nurse into account.

Peraonally, I've played a lot yesterday (enough to get from silver 4 to gold 2) and while a good chunk of that was swf and we never put on those kinds of sweat builds cause it's not tun there was usually one random in the team and a solid four hours were duo. Point bring, not a single survivor had that combo.
Besides, killers have a great counter called gearhead. If you're that afraid of it put it on and no one will ever get use out of it - not even with distortion.

Please remember that Hyperfocus + Stake Out takes up 2 perk slots. Yes, it might be strong (not always) but it also makes sure that the survivor can't bring other strong perks.
In the end of the day the meta will most likely get back to "normal" after a few weeks.
It is the same with every chapter, we heard it with:
- Power Struggle
- Deception
- Flashbang
- Blast Mine
- etc etc etc
These perks where supposed to be too oppressive and a lot of people cried for nerfs, yet now we mostly see them in meme builds.

Good thing that at least these forums are killer sided so it evens out, right?

Honestly the most broken perk this chapter is distortion. Every wesker I've gone against seems to have more than one aura reading perk and it's saved my life so many times.
Had one with lethal,BBQ, I'm all ears and nurses and I could not charge it fast enough

Nah! Blast mines was just nerfed!
