Project W Feedback - Mainly Wesker
Pros -
- His power is really enjoyable, whether it is dashing around the map at lightning-fast speeds, or launching survivors, when it works, there is a lot of fun to be had.
- His infection, unlike Nemesis, actually poses a threat that survivors need to be wary of
- His voice lines bring more life to his character, helping you embrace the smug twat he is.
- His release skin is cool. I really hope we get a blighted Wesker skin or a shirtless Wesker :)
- The fact he can damage multiple survivors with his power, unlike Nemesis, feels really nice.
- Has some really good addons, each feels impactful. Unlike Nemesis.
Cons -
- The changes to his survivor grab hitboxes were just a bit too far, he can slip past survivors too easily.
- For some reason, he will randomly drop the survivors he grabs. Mainly near vault points.
- Unlike Demo, using his dash from high up to gain considerable distance (Something that a lot of players enjoy on demo) isn´t possible on Wesker. He just stops the second he leaves the edge.
- His running animation is really goofy. If he was more imposing, by say being more upright, it would look considerably better. Right now he doesn´t look like a supervillain mastermind, he looks like a combination of Trickster and Legion.
- Was really hoping we would get a killer that could change forms, similar to Oni or something. It´s resident evil. Really hoping Wesker would have some kind of side power where he could ubercharge himself for a period.
- Reassurance was nerfed hard, by Hyper Focus was untouched,
- Gen Speed was removed from Better Than New.
- Low Profile
- Awakened Awareness was nerfed because of Nurse´s existence.
What I would change -
- Give Wesker a third dash or increase the hitbox on survivor collision.
- Reduce the cooldown before he can attack after vaulting with his power.
- Change his running animation.
- Allow him to use his momentum to jump off of ledges.
- Improve his power, so he doesn´t drop survivors as easily.
- Hypothetically give him a secondary "empowered state".
- For example, he could have the ability to greatly increase his movement speed and only has access to virulent bound for x amount of seconds.
Comments
-
- More than likely his hitbox will be increased, because that hot 50% reduction made the power much worse.
- Maybe having a little window for an attack after vaulting could be an option, kinda like what Wraith can do where he uncloaks and can go into a lunge
- Yeah he needs a new running animation. It's in that scuffed range where his legs aren't moving fast enough. Now the little forward lean he does is technically what you're supposed to do, since physics and something about lower wind resistance.
- Whiskers is beyond pathetic mortals, the Uroboros allows him to defy physics! This really does seem like some strange bug that slipped past the devs. It should have been: the first bound sends you off the ledge, and you lose the activation window for second bound because you're flying
- Wholeheartedly agree. Was this even an issue in the PTB?
- My idea for an empowered state would be a bit more akin to Nemesis; where you gain more charges as you infect survivors. Once fully charged, you can activate it with the unused alt power input. This empowered form (either ignores the recharge for bounds or exponentially increases your maximum number of bounds), increases your bound's speed and distance, and breaks vaulted pallets. I'm not too sure on how long this state should last, but somewhere between 30-60 seconds.

Mandy confirmed earlier they’re monitoring the size of Wesker’s collision box with survivors to see if they need to increase it. Based on the feedback they’re getting so far I’m pretty sure they’ll up it to like 30 or 35 cm, about halfway between where it is now and where it was on PTB, but that’s just a guess.

Can you show me where they confirmed this? Would appreciate it. And ye they 100% need to increase the hitbox detection

I agree with you for the most part. They should also consider reducing the charge and recharge times on his power.

Here's her comment from earlier today where she talks about them watching the feedback on the survivor collision size in case it swung too far in the other direction from too big to a little too small.

I'd say it's swung way too far, you can literally slide off of survivors.

Oh ye I saw this one I just hope they fix it, he is now more like an M1 because if you use your power and miss ( which easily happens) you get punished a lot and it makes playing him really boring as you have to go for m1 in many situations

Yeah, for a killer who's power isn't for anti-loop, he has some longer cooldowns on nearly all his interactions.
