Fun Fact About Bloodlust!
Do you remember when Bloodlust got introduced they nerfed it because it way too fast?
It had the numbers 12/24/36 seconds respectively for each tier.
Guess what are the numbers now?
15/25/35 seconds.
2016 BHVR MAKES BETTER BALANCE CHANGES THAN 2022 BHVR. ????

yeah, but they do keep adding god loops/god pallets to every map, so id say its good balance
if they decide to stop with god loops and god pallets, then bloodlust can go
edit: i completely misread the post lmao, but now ive actually read it i have this to say:
the game is different than it was in 2016. the majority of survivors used to suck, the matchmaking was rank based, games were more chill, chases were usually quicker than they are now (apart from real uncounterable god loops like old shack and old cowloop, but this was pre bloodlust iirc). but now with mmr, survivors at high mmr are gods in chase, and m1s just dont stand a chance without bloodlust or bamboozle or some other assistance in chase

Right, but it's the first tier of Bloodlust that's most relevant outside of genuinely busted setups that can't be played around skilfully, and that is still higher.
Besides, Bloodlust serves a purpose. Perhaps it wasn't serving that purpose consistently enough with its previous numbers.

but 2016 had actual infinites everywhere and double pallets? where is that now?
9 -
I dunno. 70% of the killers that I go against just go round the loops and bloodlust 3 instead of trying to deal with any vaulst or pallets because that's too much brain usage.
6 -
Even with the buffed numbers, getting to Bloodlust 3 before you get a hit is playing very badly and a halfway competent team should be able to run rings around that kind of killer. This goes quadruple if it's an injure and not a down.

I know the bloodlust buff was kinda dumb but I think you forgot the bit where bloodlust used to have double the values it has now.
1 -
Except it's still working out for them with the solo queue experienced and the buffed gens.

true infinites dont exist anymore, since chase blocks vaults and bloodlust exists. an example of what would be an old infinite without these things are main building of garden, main building dead dawg, grim pantry main building and badham main building, maybe some of the houses on haddonfun if the survivor knows how to run it, jungle gyms if the survivor knows how to run them,
basically bloodlust is a bandaid fix for bad loop design, always has been, bloodlust was buffed since mmr is showing how broken these loops are when ran by good survivors
1 -
i think you just dont understand how to chase if you think gyms can be an infinite.
garden can go to hell,yes.
3 -
i said ran by good survivors, if that vault never blocks and you never gain speed, the survivor doesnt lose distance when you go around, and you lose distance if you try to mindgame and they dont fall for it
its not uncounterable, but you wouldnt be able just force the hit/force the pallet drop like you can now if you dont gain speed, and that window doesnt block
0 -
that cant happen at jungle gyms if you're playing correctly
1 -
it can. please read the conditions for how it happens. if you mindgame and the survivor doesnt fall for it, you lose distance. if you go around (w keying the loop), you do not gain distance. this is why i said specifically a good survivor running it. if the survivor falls for a mindgame, they will get hit, but if they dont, they just wont get hit until they do, and theres nothing an m1 can do about it. theres no way to run the tile without giving the survivors the opportunity to vault and then get in position for the free fast vault, and then go back around to get another fast vault to go back around for another fast vault, no matter how you chase them

Not necessarily god loops that make you unhittable but damn near. Coal tower is a good example. You just need decent rng and by the time you get hit you already traveled around the map from main back to main, badham main is legit entity block the window or leave, double window haddonfield house, the entirety of gideons, cowshed (dont need to explain that one), dead dawg shack to main window, etc.
Like you still catch people eventually but by the time you do the match is over cause once everyone sees those setups... those are getting ran the entire game.

There is nothing in the game nowadays that even comes CLOSE to what it was like in 2016
3 -
Bro never had to loop in the macmillan and coldwind god loops.

I always thought that the survivors were suppose to get hit after a certain point, as much as I hate Bloodlust, I think it does have a place in the game, especially when strong tile sets spawn chaining into one another and there is nothing the killer can do.
Also I wouldnt necessarily say that infinite loops are gone, Dead Dawg Saloon's main building is an infinite without Bloodlust, so most people that run the infinite (which is super rare when people run it, not sure why people dont know about it or use it) do it before chase starts so there is no way for the killer to catch up. But this is just one example I can think about (mainly since I ran it not that long ago, bless that poor Ghostface, he had it rough).

You forgot that the actual speed bonus was also nerfed.
2 -
Bloodlust is fine.

fun fact:
it was supposed to be removed after impossible loops were gone, but just never came to be.
2 -
band-aid game design stays because BHVR still can't do map design, apparently
