What happened to all the Bubbas out there?
Title. I mean seriously. Am I the last Bubbacorn in Europe? I still enjoy playing him. I prefer playing AGAINST him. It is so much fun. I haven't met any Bubbas for about 2 months. That makes me very sad. Same goes for Billy but we all know why nobody (except @Simfeliz ) wants to play him.

I think I've put most of my 5+k hours in Bubba but at some point the game just got boring so I packed my chainsaw and went to Destiny 2. Haven't really returned ever since.

I used to play him fairly often but I haven’t played nearly as much killer in general lately. Don’t really have a reason to when survivor queues are almost always instant and offer 100% bonus BP.
But I have noticed less bubbas as survivor too.

Billy is pretty much rare pick since his rework (more like dework or nerfwork). He got less fun to play and way harder over the time since all his good addons are pretty much gone and maps got worse and worse for him.
Bubba I see bit less since the update but I think he is still quite popular. He is simple and effective and best at camping so people like that. I personaly don't like much to play Bubba. He is bit boring to me overall and simple.

I rarely saw Bubba in the first place, and when it I did, 50% of the time it was Basement Bubba. Since that build was basically made useless (I mean, it wasn't really good in the first place unless survivors were potatoes, but a lot of survivors are potatoes) in the latest patch, 50% of the people who used to main Bubba probably switched to a different killer.

Here is my favorite Bubba story: had a soloQ game were the killer was afk, ie the whole game no one got chased or damaged and we were just finishing gens by ourselves, with the occasional totem or chest thrown in. When the 5th gen popped and the EGC started, suddenly someone went down and got hooked .. in the basement!
I went looking and found an insidious basement bubby who just had defended his stuff and who was shaking his head. Another player went down there (they were obviously a 2 man SWF group, with matching names) and got down, too, after a trade. They traded more times till they both hung from the hooks and Bubba looked at me and just shook his head. I nooded, gathered all my courage and moved to Bubbas side. Together we watched the two survivors get sacrificed, I asked if I may take one of their items, which Bubba denied (I guess that basement chest doesn't fill itself), so I waved him good bye and jogged out of the trial. Pretty wholesome affair.

I had a game yesterday where there was... no killer. Not anywhere. We looked, but there simply wasn't one anyplace on the map. So we scratched our heads and did our gens, and then all of us piled in front of one exit gate. Just as it opened, a Nurse with Insidious pops out out of nowhere from behind it and downs two people with NOED. I got lucky, but I figured (correctly) that Blood Warden must be in play, so I ran out of the gate as quickly as I could. Others weren't so lucky.

Oof! Thats tricky :D I once had a similar situation were the killer was just not presend and I finally found an afk Wraith in some remote corner. Just a slight shimmer in the air and the peculiar breathing of his slit throat. I run a few times in that corner until suddenly the 5th gen poppen and he sprung to life, downing me instantly with a NOED. That thought me not to mess with afk killers or to try to agitate them.
Another such ancounter was in old Hawkings lab. We had an afk Trapper who did the typical afk routine of slashing the air every 10s or so. So we got all the survivors bunched up there, farming altruism and protection hits. I was doing the last gen, when suddenly Trapper-kun awoke and downed everyone with NOED. I don't remember if I escaped, but I think that he got me, too :D Good times.
Another sneaky one was that afk Myers that stood motionless on a hill at one of the scrapyard maps and that everyone memed around, farming killer blinds. Strangely enough I must have been to only one who heared the tier up music, it was then that I know what was happening and I tried to warn my fellow survivors, but to no avail, they played their silly games, oblivious to the menace that was easily and sneakily filling up its Evil Within Tier 3 and downed two of them before anyone knew what was happening.

I equipped a 'stun the killer 3 times' challenge yesterday and faced Artist, who shoots birds through pallets instead of walking through them, Bubba, Bubba, Nurse and Nurse. I finally completed my challenge against a Blight...
The game likes to shaft me by giving me unstunnable killers whenever I try a challenge like that. Perhaps this is the secret Bubba summoning ritual.

I’ve noticed the same thing! Lately I’ve been doing my part to help out - as well as a little P.R. campaign.
It’s Bubba, m2 only, party streamers, 8 hooks, 4 escapes, lots of spinning and nodding and revving anytime I’m not actually chainsaw sweeping! This nets everybody lots of points, fun chases, and an overall good time!

The same thing that happens to every killer who gets 'balanced' by removing all the fun from the character through gutting their power instead of actually addressing any real issues in an even-handed manner

In all seriousness, yes. As a survivor, they’re one of the funnest killers to go against (when they don’t camp and actually play that is). He’s purely M1 in the chase sense.
- When he’s behind you, you know he’s going to stay there and not teleport somewhere else.
- He doesn’t have any map elements that make you doubt your next pallet or valult (like traps or range attacks)
- He has insta-down built in: high risk/high reward - so you can loop tightly to increase that risk for him. This also helps to keep your own heart-rate up!
- You can beat him! And that’s fun! But you’d better play carefully cuz 1 mistake will cost you dearly!
And that’s why we love Bubbs!

Honestly, the big meta patch is a major reason for me not using him so much but in a positive way
I used to use Bubba a lot because in general, he was kind of an equalizer for me against really good teams. His powers made him a constant thread so people were kind of forced to respect him (and if someone didn't, I could very easily teach them why it's a poor idea to mock a Bubba).
With the big killer patch, my variety of killers expanded greatly. I always feel like no matter what killer I play as now, I always have at least a chance to win. So instead of feeling like I HAVE to play as Bubba to have a chance to have some fun, now I can play just about any killer on the roster and feel like I can have some fun.
