Should certain Killers get incentives to raise their pick rate?
Pretty much like the current incentives work only say Twins would have it or Hag or whatever killers are least played at the time in order to try and promote killer diversity in matches.

Thats good idea.

Yes, but not for the Hag 😄

ye how about +100% BP for any killer but Wesker so I can actually have a variety in my rounds again
9 -
I main twins and billy, so YES, YES ,YES

This is actually a good idea. I can already see some comments though saying that they just buff those killers or rework them so people play them.
Realistically this would be a very good short term or even long term solution. Hell, it might even help provide the devs with additional data on hoe well these killers perform if more people are playing them.
4 -
Yeah killers with low pickrate sorta have their numbers really skewed as the few people who play them probably main them and are amazing with them. This is where the perception of Twins being bonsters at high MMR imo because well the only Twins players at high MMR have likely sunk lots of hours into playing them really damn well
2 -
Yea, it becomes pretty difficult for the devs to fully understand how certain killers perform since only a small minority play them.
It's a bit of an odd thing, but at the same time I don't think the devs should be afraid to make changes to killers with lower pick rates

That sounds good to me !

This is not the intention of incentives. The intention of incentives is to reduce Queue Times for the role which gets picked more. Which is Killer.
If you would add incentives to certain Killers just to have them appear more often in the games, you will most likely increase the queue times for all Killer players.

That's what dalies and challenges are for.

Speaking of Twins, I remember the devs promised a Twins rework on the fifth anniversary event... nothing happened yet :(

This would be a bandaid but the better way to do it would be to buff the weaker killers.
3 -
Part of the problem with pickrate is that people either a.) aren't willing or able to buy the DLC or b.) just don't want to play certain killers. I play a lot of killers, but I don't particularly like hag or twins.
0 -
If they fixed some / buffed the weaker ones then perhaps more people would play them.

No amount of BP will make me play hag.
4 -
In my humble opinion - no. If a Killer is played very little, that points to an issue in their design. It needs to be addressed.

lmao. yeah no i dont think the almost constant 100% on survivors since the killer-sided patch means anything KEKW
0 -
How about Survivors get incentives to play Adam, huh? 🙄
I actually like the idea. 🤩
Bhvr could make a system that lasts a week or until all done, then it resets.
- You get 100% rooster bonus for 1 game for each character in a role.
- Once a week pass or all characters have been played, the rooster bonus resets for either one role or both.
Seems easy enough to implement, but... will it actually do what you think it will?

I dunno, Kills = Skill isn't rocket science.

Honestly, I think this would be a great idea
Incentivizing people to play more killers allows the devs to gather more data for them and get a better idea of their viability. It also might give them a better idea as to why the killer isnt picked as much

You could offer me Auric Cells and I still wouldn't touch some Killers.
1 -
agree, every killer should get a incentive to play, but hag? No
1 -
Yes this isnt tackling matchmaking queue times. This is tackling an entirely different problem of a lack of killer diversity in many matches. Long queues for more fun matches is a tradeoff I wouldnt mind. Also more killer diversity would make survivor gameplay feel less repetive and may lead to more people playing the role.

Really cool idea

It however leads to the few players who do play them becoming incredibly efficient with their power which leads to their MMR skyrocketing in high brackets and we are left with Twins getting nerfed because they are monsters at High mmr. Same reason Billy is probably viewed as fine in the Devs eyes because the few Billies are just really good at him which makes their kill rate seem fine. More data on less picked killers would lead to better balancing.

I don't know I feel like low pick rates are one way to make them see there's issues with certain killers. I'm pretty sure the 1% pick rate on Twins is what helped them decide to look at them for the next rework.

Something would be great because as mentioned it is 99.9% mastermind for the last week. I play about 2 hours and it feels weird if I get one that isnt. Of course before there were heavy leans, but not this bad.

Agreed all killers that dont get picked much get a bonus.... except hag
0 -
Really good idea, but idk if it's possibile or easy to implement.

+1000% bp for playing clown, freddy and trapper, -200% bp for playing nurse and blight. what a way to encourage diversity....
3 -
The incentive would be making them viable.
3 -
No? There are like 6 killers I like to play, BP incentives should be used for entire role not just some weirdos noone wants to play as.
What about survivors? Should Ash get incentive because noone plays him?
And what if you dont own these characters, should you just buy them to get BP ?
I dont like this at all

Unlike survivors, killers are graded from Easy to Very Hard. I'd wager the Very Hard killers get the least overall play time (happy to be corrected) so we'd probably just end up with the same few killers over and over lol
0 -
Why not both? Say, for example 150% bloodpoints for survivors, when there are not enough survivors and 50% for playing a specific killer.
0 -
No shot BHVR could get that working.

Bubba facecamping incoming

Incentives for weak killers would be to buff weak killers.

There should be matchmaking incentives to pick certain characters but also to pick certain perks or even addons. Essentially this should replace daily rituals but be more long term and passive rather than being a do this once and you're done.
Think of it this way - If we replace Daily Rituals where you'll only play a character once to do the ritual with "This entire day gives Hag a bonus" you'll have the choice to passively play that character more and be rewarded for it. Rather than the "I played my character and did the character specific objectives - Now I don't need to try and can go back to my normal characters."
Essentially - It encourages the player to keep committing time into a character rather than just feeling like it's an unrewarding chore to branch off of the usual.

I think running against the same builds every other killer runs are. the problems the same with survivors. If every wesker ran a different build it would be a lot betterm the prob is everyone playing the same killer and same builds that things get stale. At least with survivor thru sheer data size you run into more diversity.

I don't really see how they would do it. It's one thing for the system to look at the queues and see what's lacking but to look at every killer is another thing entirely
They could make it personal i guess. Like if you haven't played a killer in a while it gets bonus bp
0 -
Or just make less played killers better to play as. No one should ever use killers like Freddy, Billy or Hag for bloodpoints.
0 -
That is a good idea!
0 -
Just buff the less played killers till theyre somewhat on par with the popular (good) killers.
2 -
Brilliant idea, though in the case of some killers, like blight, i am absolutely complete dog doodoo

Why stop there? Let the community decide on a weekly in-game vote what killer they don't want to see for the following week. And then that killer has a three month cool down before they can be voted for again.
Have them also pick a killer they want to see and give a bp incentive for them to play it.
Why is flexible community voting strictly holiday based? Just seems like a healthy thing to allow players a choice to not verse nurse when a new killer comes out.
0 -
Well nobody is holding you at gunpoint to get these bloodpoints. The current BP would be the same just more for less played.
0 -
Why do you want to see Clown so much?
0 -
Wouldn't you like to bring the strongest stuff to get the most bp if you knew your bonus only applied for one game ?
1 -
They should have a 'Killer of the week'
* Bonus bp for that killer for the week
* Slight discount on there cosmetics in store
* Featured killers perks in the shrine.
Very simple weekly activity which requires minimal effort/imagination. Given the amount of killers and even survivors, they'd all feature once a year roughly so nicely balanced.

Your personal Killer characters should have their own personal incentives based on your MMR with them. If the game needs a 1000 MMR killer player, and my Huntress character is 1000 but my Ghost Face is 1800, I should be enticed by the game to give Huntress a go to fill that slot.
