Am i the #########?
SO ironworks. girl runs off gen early stops her scratches and hides somewhere, then you hook someone by building, and with bbq see a girl in the distance but know a girl is inside the building and another one was around the top with boons. so instead of getting chase with me when i looked for them they reassuranced the hook and just left. So i camped. to me if you hide by a hook then reassurance because i camped it makes me want to camp, like you not only screw over your team it annoys me too
I AM NOT ANNOYED AT REASSURANCE, I am annoyed that they proceed to hide around the hook while im hooking them and then use this perk. they dont go anywhere they just hide around the hook

Imagine being annoyed that someone uses the anti-camp perk to help with you camping ("then reassurance because i camped it") so you proceed to camp harder. What a gosh diddly danging concept.

You are the reason this game is a toxic mess.

If i say yes, how you will feel? And why you are asking these weird questions anyway
8 -
I'll just outright say it, yes you are.

What in the DbD forums is this?

Why do you care what strangers on the internet think? As long as you're not cheating, play however you want.
2 -
no i am annoyed that they hide around the hook, not that they used reassurance

I am curious because they were upset but they were literally around the hook, was I supposed to give a free save

I did not say that. I just asked why you are asking these weird questions. Because nobody can judge you for your play style if you are not cheating. You are allowed to do it, play how ever you want.

yes, yes you are

well i am curious, because i thought most of the community agreed if you hide around the hook the killer has no reason to leave, at least thats the way i have been thinking for a while

Well hold on did you camp the survivor on the hook, or were you searching the area around the hook, these are 2 different things.

I wouldn't say that camping against Reassurance makes you an A-hole. I would, however, say that it was probably not the correct decision to make. Choosing to camp when you know the survivors are running anti-camping perks seems to me like you're just setting yourself up for failure and frustration.
I'm not saying this to be insulting. It's hard to Monday morning quarterback when I know so little of what went down that match, but if a survivor is hiding near the hook for the specific purpose of using Reassurance then letting them get away with it is just giving this player exactly what they want.

both, when hooking there was footseps on the other side of the breakable wall, so i looked around inside tried sniping a girl cross map and then i walk back out after reloading since someone was hiding and i assumed they would save and instead they just used reassurance, so i started searching around the hook

yeah, i just dont see a point leaving the hook when 2 survivors are waiting like vultures nearby within 15 meters hiding, like why hide so obviously in the building next to the hook, if i search and dont find anything i lose a hook and so much time

So you’re annoyed because the survivor was camping then you do the same thing. Hmmm self entitlement is strong with this one.

what am I supposed to do? leave the hook because the people are hiding and i KNOW they are there?
0 -
Do you know they’re there though? Sounds like you couldn’t find them? I don’t understand you being annoyed. They might just be wanting to have some fun and try out the new perk? :/

because they were hiding around hook, thats how they used it and the fact they were runnign in earshot

If I can give an opinion you played right into their usage of Reassurance by staying there camping. They wasted their Reassurance by hiding around in the bushes instead of doing something else, going for a hook trade (assuming they weren't on death hook), coordinating a bodyblock or trying to lead you away so the second could save.
To be honest, when I'm on a hook and see two survivors just hiding nearby on a hook, I'm more annoyed because of the other survivors. I don't hold it against them because they could be newer and scared but there comes a point where inactivity becomes the worst choice. Either do a hook trade or leave me and go do a gen; just sitting there gives a 4K instead of a potential 4E (with hook trades) or a potential 3E or 2E (with doing gens).
To get to your question, though, no, you aren't. You were annoyed and camped when it was a misplay to do so but why care? It's a video game and everyone has off days. Unless you loaded into matches with the intention of just making the other side miserable then, no, you're not.

Reassurance makes me want to camp less.

One truth of the internet: 99% of the time, if you have to make an AITA post, you're TA.
Just...don't camp. There's no need to. You knew roughly where two other people were. Look for the one nearby, then get another chase in. Or go upstairs, double back and maybe trade out.

From my point of view, immersed survivors are the problem. I would probably get banned if I told you what I recently did against a group despite the fact that there is no stated rule against it, but I know how Behavior treats 3 gen situations. So let's just say I made sure to give them a taste of their own medicine after they did exactly what I knew they would because of how they were playing.
I am proud of you for camping them. These people are biased, they pretend "its just a game" but then imply you had a problem for playing how you wanted to play while defending the party who was lowkey trolling, or throwing?
Sus.

I mean I understand I knew where one was... ACROSS MAP, but who wants to give free saves? it feels horrible

People who use Make Your Choice or Devour Hope.

No you aren't. You did what a lot of people would do. People calling you an a**hole act like you're supposed to play by some survivor rulebook. They decided to hide by hook, you knew they were hiding by hook, so you had no reason to leave since you knew gen progress wasn't happening.
Just like in end game when 1 person is hooked right as the gates get powered, so the killer decides to secure that 1 kill or try to.

I dont think you're an ******* and I don't think you did anything wrong. You stayed in the area because you knew a survivor was there. But I don't think their use of Reassurance was bad either. I feel like that's the purpose of the perk. You didn't leave the area because you knew someone was in the building and its more time efficient to grab them than go across the map. So on the flipside, they felt it wasn't safe to unhook afterall and chose to prolong the timer. If they revealed themselves to attempt to take chase, but the killer decided to stay near the hook, then they may have lost their best chance of using Reassurance. So they probably just did what they felt was the best call for the team, just as you did what you felt was the best call for yourself

yeah i dont think the perk was the issue, its just them hiding nearby the hook screwing the team over and forcing me to stay
