can you please make the new and destroyed dead hard work when i press it?
was part of the nerfs fine print that it just doesnt work when you press it half of the time? why is this game sooooo bad man. can you just stop touching things?? killer players are gonna cry no matter what, they spend their free time doing 30 mins of actual playing the game, and the rest is spent crying somewhere. please stop touching survivors, and fix this god forsaken perk

And either your not getting timing right and just taking the hit or there is server lag. Both are possible.

I always love hearing suggestions from mains who claim the other side does nothing but cry for undeserved nerfs. It's so refreshingly unbiased, well thought-out, and not invective in the slightest.
Also: no. Few things in this game have deserved their death as much as Dead Hard. May it rest with keys, old moris, old BNP, OG DS, and old Dying Light.

If it's not working for you it means you aren't timing it right and the killers waiting it out. The perk is still strong it just takes skill now. Old dead hard was total BS!

+1. I have stopped using Dead Hard because it just won’t go off when I time it right. What happened to Dead Hard validation? Something is definitely wrong here.

1/10th of a second delay for a perk that last 1/2 of a second is pretty bad if you're trying to learn the timing right. Yikes.

Maybe they should look into that yea, i use dh and still get value from it alot of the time but sometimes i feel like i time it right and because its in the absolute start of the animation (like you said) it doesnt work.

I think at this point every person who genuinely tried new Dead Hard has realized that the perk is bugged and inconsistent. Sometimes the perk works fine for a full match and then in the next match you keep getting downed even after the animation starts.
I've tried very hard to make the new DH work, I've even bound the key to Mouse Left, still can't get it working half of the matches. I've given up because I don't like gambling.
I don't know what the exact cause of this inconsistency is but looking frame-by-frame seems there is indeed an activation delay in the order of 100 ms which if you add ping and human reaction time it becomes very difficult to use this perk reactively.
People who tell OP that it's a skill issue or that they have no issue themselves are just being dishonest, you can use that as a good indicator of how high the level of BS is on this forum. Even streamers constantly get hit even on predictable lunges, so I doubt random forumers can have "no issue" (most likely the people who claim that have not played with it for long).

It should work as advertised. If there is a hidden delay, it needs to go away.

Incidentally, I do. I never used it before the rework cuz meta perks are boring. It's incredibly useful for dodging a blight rush or huntress hatchet on reaction.
Do I sometimes feel like I pushed E on time and the game didn't register it? Of course. Is that the reality of the situation? Probably not. I was just slightly too late and that's how it goes sometimes. It's like having someone get the drop on you in an fps and you feel like you should have won that engagement.

If you don't like the new dead hard don't use it. I have a problem with ping so I can never time it right so I switched to sprint burst and life got so much easier.
Also DH gives you a third health state so of course it's going to be very hard to time. Stop complaining that they changed an OP perk to be less strong and requiring actual skill to use.

lol its not hard to time. its just a bugged perk. decide which it is next time you try to argue, is it your ping? or is it hard to time?

Dude, those aren't mutually exclusive, you know? It's a 0.5 second window to time it and a killer can bait it out like with the old dead hard, meaning it's hard to time right. I have bad ping so it's even harder to try to time it right, which is why I don't use it since I know I can't get it to work and I've been liking sprint burst more now anyway. But I've seen a lot of survivors using it very well so if you can't use it, the problem lies in you not the perk itself.

I don't know how youre not understanding. ill make a list for you.
the perk can either
A) not activate at all when you press it even though its lit up, youre in a sprint and you clearly pressed it before the swing
B) you can get hit during the dead hard (clearly up when hit) and you still die
im not talking about the timer running out and getting hit, you have to do some real mental gymnastics to make that your point. i have 2k hours all of them spent with dead hard, even post nerf, and it is not working correctly/ consistently. if you have nothing to say, no dead hard experience, barely any survivor exp, just stop talking.

Just a bugged perk that many survivors use and obviously get value from, or else they'd use something else.
