Thoughts on Prestige Ranks?
Now it's been some time since the introduction of the prestige ranks, I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts.
Personally I think they're the most pointless addition to the game, and I really don't understand the thought process behind adding them. IMO the prestige ranks should end once the rewards stop.

One idea I have is for survivors, with every prestiege rank that as of now doesn't give you a reward, one of each item and add-on you have gets transferred to others, then just add-ons for killers, but that being added by rarity

I like it. Shows progression on your favorite characters. Although to this point on PC (two and a half years) I’ve only collected about 650M bloodpoints. Means I could have only P100’d six characters at best.
Crazy the grind it would take to achieve this but totally doesn’t mean anything other than being prestigious.

I like the prestige icons tbh

They're definitely good sweat indicators IMO. It helps me with lobby dodging since I'm on console. I nope the hell out when I see prestige 40+ Claudettes, Neas and Fengs

I think it's pretty unnecessary, especially since it forces you to prestige and waste 20k BP. Like there's no reward, just lame bragging rights.

They're meaningless basically. The only thing I don't like is that now you have to get to bloody 100 to stop starting over on the blood web with items.
Now it's like being a n00b every prestige level and waiting until 45 to get access to decent stuff.

Nothing wrong with that, I'm sure there are loads of people who like them.

I would have agreed with you a month ago, but they changed it so that bloodweb item rarity was upped pretty much across the board. Getting rare stuff hasn't been a problem for me anymore.
I have no issue with the prestige system. It's neat, especially now that we're starting to see some big numbers, and lets people show off the characters they hardcore main.

Completely agree with you both. Being forced to prestige makes them even more annoying. And the fact it costs BP to prestige really grates on me.

Really? I just spent 300k Bloodpoints trying to find simple bandages. If there was a change, it certainly didn't make a difference for me. Tho I am glad the cost is lower since most of the BW is complete and utter shyte lol.

I don't really see the point except for showing which characters you enjoy playing - which is nice, I guess --- but also really just a gimmick. Better than the grades or blank icons in end game screen though.

I think they should only show prestige icons at the end of the match, not in the lobby

The 20k BP cost to prestige is a bit weird but remember that in 6.2.0 they cut the cost of all bloodweb nodes by 33% on average, so looking at the introduced prestige cost in 6.1.0 together with the changes in 6.2.0, it costs way less to go from 1-50 and prestige than it used to. Not saying the prestige cost is justified, but grinding for items costs less than it did a few months ago even with the prestige cost.

It's an ultimately harmless gesture. Honestly, the only change I would add would be to add milestone cosmetics (every ten levels or so) to add in some sort of reward beyond bragging rights for fully 100ing a character

- Inherently useless because just like Devotion, it's only a number.
- Sort of can be used to tell if other survivors in a lobby are newbies, but also only to an extent.
- Allows killers to also see this to the same extent, which can lead to dodging/refusing to chase certain survivors, and chasing certain others.
- Increases time spent spending points, since you have to through many more "web finished" animations.
- Even after the rarity change, I'm not finding that I get as many good things over the same number of nodes as I would in old level 50 webs.
- That there's not even some special reward for prestige 100 is pretty pathetic. Right now I have no reason to want to prestige my main character(s), and on survivors I if anything want to avoid doing so as much as possible because it will only lead to me getting dodged and whatnot. But if there were a sort of cool, legacy-like cosmetic unlocked, say at level 50, 75, 100, that would be an actual incentive.

Yea I don't know why people pretend like there is no correlation between hours/prestige and skill. When I play killer a team of prestige 20s-30s is always better than a team of people who are prestige 3.
