"Just do gens if they camp"
I'm so tired of this meta what do you expect us to do against this? Trade? We'll go down, finish the gen, we did but we only got 30 percent with 2 people on the gen, there is no winning.
Fix this it's 5+ years of this, how can you not know what to do?

Yes, that is how you play against it. I do expect it if you are trying to win, otherwise, why not pull up a chair and roast some marshmallows with me? I definitely bite, but you know, if gens are too hard for you, I could make it all go away and send you onto the next one. I am nothing if not generous.

I will always prefer camping to slugging at 5 gens and hardcore tunneling. At least if the hooked survivor waits it out the others stand a chance, especially with Reassurance now present.

Also with people suiciding on hook if they are getting camped because they are having 0 fun. Well yeah. Honestly I'm stunned this hasn't been addressed meaningfully. As a team sure it doesn't matter as much because you win and lose together but if you are with three people you don't know and get camped, even if they escape it means very little to you and you don't get bloodpoints for your 'experience' either.

We don't know who we are up against so you can never be sure if reassurance is going to help, I'm not sure if it can activate the floor above? Can it?

There was a golden time when players would hook trade and make smart saves and focus down gens if someone was getting camped.

Yeah, it was when gens were 80 seconds, deadlock didn't exist, ds was a threat so hook trading actually worked, and survivors didn't suicide the majority of the time they're getting camped. I guess be disingenuous and pretend things haven't changed.

You shouldn’t. But the nemesis players dont really facecamp this is the only time it has happened to me. Tunnel and slug yeah they will but facecamp? Its rare. For bubba its like expected

Maybe try incentives not to. Punishment never works in a match setting. and something like Actually banning/timing out players would be a good way to kill a game that has lost players 10 out of the past 12 months.

Then Killers complain about Gen speed because Survivors rush Gen in case of camper

Reassurance doesnt work from the floor above I don't think, so it wouldn't help here.

Both incentives and punishments are treating symptoms and not the problem. Make it impossible to camp. If killer is within say... 32m from a hook, the hooked survivor should be moved to a random hook on the map with the killer not aware of the location. The only time it doesn't is if a survivor was already within the radius. Is it perfect? No. I'm sure there are flaws we can find. However, it's a hell of a lot better than what we have right now.
Other idea: Killer must get 8 combined hooks before unlocking the ability to kill at all. No timers. If you want to stare at that hook until everyone else leaves the trial, so be it. Camped survivor gets an ever increasing amount of BP every 30 seconds for being camped. Nineth hook and beyond are lethal automatically. Killer must now earn the same number of hooks regardless of who they down. If someone is really bad at looping and getting tunneled, they can be left on the hook a while to keep the number of hooks from progressing too quickly.
Then we can look at a way to make the gens both more interactive and less possible to rush. Something involving collecting parts to install or fuel to power them at certain points.

Honestly, if the killer is facecamping me and it's obvious he's doing so, I'm just going to suicide on hook. There is no point in wasting my time for less than 5k BP and a depip when that's inevitiable. So I just take that and move on to the next match. Is it selfish to suicide on hook and make it easier for the killer to kill the rest of the survivors? Sure. But not as selfish as the killer is being. If I am in a match with friends, yea I will stay to help them, but solo queue? I'm not wasting my time, and I don't blame others who don't want to do so either.
Now, when i am playing killer, I don't normally tunnel (a few exceptions, like those that are clicky clicky with flashlights, you're literally wanting me to chase you, I am going to. Don't claim I am tunneling you after) or camp (hell, even in end game I don't and that's the one time I think it's reasonable) and yet I still have survivors suicide on hook, and it's that I don't understand.

Before patch 6.1.0 (or whatever number the meta shake up was in), I used to get camped HARD by Nemesis players. Especially the ones who kept Lethal Pursuer on. It was ridiculous. I never understood what made him a good camper or attracted campers to him.

The entire meta shakeup and basekit Killer buffs were an incentive.

Increase Reassurance range to 12m, so that you can actually punish facecamping Bubbas and buff Kinship,so that it works on both hook stages (needs separate activations,of course) and shows up with a timer on everyone's screen/HUD. This way you could equip both perks, of you really hate camping, even though it can be a rather wholesome team building activity, and do your business with the knowledge that your personal hook stages will last up to 3mins: enough to basically finish the whole trial for your team mates and maybe convince the killer to do something more engaging then staring at your face.

So I went doing some digging, and I actually created a thread about it earlier this year and you responded pretty much the same thing lol. You even used the same Nemmie pic and congratulated me on my one thousandth post!
A lot of people had the same sentiments that they didn’t notice him being a camper, but then there were others who experienced it as well (minority). Maybe it was a region thing? I don’t recall there being any challenges with him… If there were obsession challenges with Nemesis, then that would explain it. Like kill the obsession with him. But even still, he always seemed to camp whoever he got on hook.
But going back to the topic- I really think they should have left Reassurance as it was in the PTB and monitored it closely when it went live. If too many people were complaining they were being held hostage, then they could have easily kill switch engaged (🎸🎤 [🐰 🥚] 😉) the perk and have it nerfed in the hotfix. It wouldn’t have necessarily been the end all be all to camping, but it would have been viable. When players hear or see “nerf,” they tend to abandon or not give a chance to whatever got hit with the nerf bat.

It does work from the floor above. You do have to be right over the person and, for some reason, it won't work in basement but I have done it on the Game and Midwich.

Yes, but it's all about incentivising those full-time campers that another playstyle is needed of they want their kills. If the camping meta isn't working anymore we will probably (hopefully) see a meta shift.
And some stuff will always be able to ruin your game, but we can try to minimise that.

Oh yes this nemesis picture is old from December of 2021. What happened was i had to do a sabo challenge and i as soon as i loaded into the match i saboed a hook and he chased me and i got facecamped. Again the match just started so its not like I prevented him from getting a hook i just went or a random hook and he got mad😂. Still congrats. I do have a video of me getting facecamped by a pinhead after a two mintues chase as well.

That incentive would need to compete with a zero effort strategy that is near guaranteed to 2K or better. In other words, busted as heck.
Camping needs to be kicked down to 1K or worse in order to get rid of it.

Yep. Pretty much every team I straight camped against in the pre-The Realm Beyond era would do that. It's still possible, but people don't want to do it. Next they'll want Reassurance base.

I facecamped for the first time in ages, yesterday.
I got send to badam preschool and could find no one, besides that very obnoxious Cheryl that kept flashlighting me and tried to be really annoying. Normally it's my policy to utterly ignore attention seekers and go for others, but this time I just couldn't find anyone and all I would find were empty yet progressively finishing gens.
So eventually I chased Cheryl, who was very elusive, and when I downed her, facecamped her in the most blatant way possible at two gens remaining. I prolly saw the other survivors, traded a few hooks, eventually had two survivors dangling at the same time and ended the game with an unreserved 2k.

its definitely very unfun and there should be a mechanic to counter it instead of holding m1 for minutes. There is like absolutely no reason to waste your time like this, not for the hooked survivor, not for other survivors who just hold m1 and leave and also not for the killer. The is no fun involved in this mechanic.

Reassurance does work from different floors, it just has to be within 6 meters. You can Reassure someone from the different floors in Midwich, and the different floors in The Game. Just have to align yourself on top or below them.

Sabo builds are one of the most aggravating things to verse as a killer and probably an easy way to tilt me and make me tunnel you. Lol.
Yeah, some may chime in "big oof for tunneling someone out just for playing the game/using perks you don't like", but yeah, that's the thing. Those peeps that are good at it can deny you of a lot of hooks and you might end the game with 1 or 2 hooks total. Sabo builds are really a pet peeve of me, so I might go out of my way to stop them. BUT someone who saboes every hook they can find is probably just going for a hook challenge and poses no threat.
Same like Glyphs. Usually I stop in my tracks when I notice a survivor communing with a glyph and just stare at them while doing it, but I do appreciate some kindness in return. The cool survivors will let you hit them and resume the chase from that point on, but some will just t- bag you and vault away.
