Hard Mode Killer Options: Get Rid of Meme Add Ons
Instead of having Meme add ons, which are almost never used and universally despised, why not make it so some killers have a hard mode that just applies the add on, and open that add on slot up?
For example, Trapper's Hard Mode would just apply the Padded Jaws while giving the extra deviousness points, rather than doing it with an add on. Same with Wraith, Billy, Bubba, Nurse, Freddy, Demo, Deathslinger, Blight, Trickster, Pinhead, Sadako, and Wesker.
(I leave off Plague because hers, while considered a meme add on, substantially alters play and has viable builds around it.)

If you have two addon slots free, how is that "hard mode"?

At that point it's just "Side B" characters.
Cause with Padded Jaws Trapper, you would most likely either use both add-ons that slow down your escapes or one of those+Honing Stone. Not really a hard mode but a diffrent play-style... ish.

I'd rather they change those add ons to be like plagues. Instead of a downgrade, they're a playstyle shift.

That would involve a lot of creativity on their part. As for how is it harder, well, are you saying Trapper is not harder if the traps do not do damage?
