All non-licensed store outfits are going to be buyable with iridescent shards!
Woohoo! This is a pretty great step - essentially it's BHVR ungating previously paid content so that you can now purchase it for free. This will be really noticeable on certain characters who had a lot of paid outfits - Feng and Kate come to mind. For some examples, Minotaur Oni, Pink Bunny Feng, and Doll Dredge are now going to be obtainable with shards.
Less woohoo that I already blew like $30 on outfits that are about to become free, but hey, I'd rather it behave like this than not. I really appreciate the gesture, since it would have been incredibly easy for BHVR to continue milking popular outfits like this.

This is a good change.

I never understood why so many original cosmetics were not purchasable with shards and someone at BHVR must have finally noticed and agreed with me. I have so many damn shards cause the outfits I think look cool enough to buy cost actual money. Maybe now I can actually spend some of these things and get those cosmetics I had my eye on...

Oh dang, this is a nice change. I generate a pretty fair amount of iri shards, and this'll give me some stuff to use them on between buying original characters.
Very glad to see it.

This is very good change, good job BHVR!

Oh
haven’t even thought about Minotaur, Krampus and Baba Yaga until now! That’s great news, hopefully will see more people using these skins now (will buy Krampus myself - sadly I am even worse on Oni and Huntress than on other killers so still a nope from me)

Where did this wave of generosity come from? I'm happy about it but surprised.
1 -
Well. I mean. People that buy outfits with auric cells are probably also impulse buyers and will still take this timed-exclusive offer?
1 -
HUGE W, thanks so much BHVR😁

Do we know that this is retroactively applied? Because I really want Baba Yaga, Doll Dredge and Minotaur but this says "GOING FORWARD."
Either way, this is WONDERFUL news, but I PRAY that it will be applied to previous ones.

Yes, in batches.
1 -
Oh wow I did not see this coming. That’s a good change.

Now we just wait for them to also unlink non liscenced sets >:D
0 -
That is great news!

Doesn't this also mean every single non-licensed outfit will be auric-only for weeks?

I think nobody complained because we all just expect this game model and accept it as a necessary evil. DBD makes their chapters pretty cheap and accessible, so we assume most of the revenue comes through cosmetics, and that randomly making outfits store-currency-only (or less randomly making very desirable and cool outfits store currency only) is as inevitable as teabaggers.
I never assumed removing it was even on the table, which is why I'm so delighted to see this change. There's a few outfits I liked but wasn't going to spend cells on that are now back on the wishlist.

Right so I haven't seen anyone mention this yet so for people who don't use Twitter and come to the Forums for most of their DBD news:
(The original tweet: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1569702463309074434?s=20&t=6LCIqk5V6yahYpgn--P_CA)
So yeah, really happy with this news actually, gives me something to use shards on that isn't just more bloodpoints and really helps out people who don't have as much disposable income! A great change actually BHVR.

cool I always wanted to buy the ugly blonde jake head but I couldn't justify forking out 6 dollars for cells
3 -
I've always wondered why some original cosmetics were strictly auric only
🤔
This is great to see
2 -
That's amazing news actually. There have been a few outfit pieces that i wanted for soooo long but didn't want to spend money on.
Great change BHVR :D

Makes a lot of sense. I can see licensed content remaining as Auric Cells, because they're - well - licensed, but could never fully understand why some original sets also were payable by Auric.
This is the right move and can only applaud them on this decision. Very wise and can only be good for relations.
1 -
That’s nice but I’m gonna keep hoarding all my shards.
0 -
You can actually buy hillbilly cosmetics since it seems like a majeouty of them are cells
1 -
Yay! I have over 100k shards that have been waiting for a moment like this!
0 -
We get to buy more head.
0 -
Fir
That would require you to play billy though, which pretty much almost nobody does anymore 🥲

Honestly there is a decent chance that there are a bunch of outfits that almost no one bought and that must suck for the art team who made them, seeing them get no use. This change fixes that too. Everyone wins.

Well hello Meg.
You look like you wanna play. Let's go!
1 -
its nice but, i think its so unfair with people who spent a lot of money with buy auric cells. I play on Ps4 and my prices are ridiculous and now everything will be "shardable"? It unfair.

Sounds like the US student debt forgiveness crying lmao
3 -
Oh wow, this is such a nice move. Honestly. <3 Very sweet of them. I understand they have to make money and didn't have to do this, so wow.
0 -
i work and spend money with this, and ps4 is not cheap, i could have spent less, just, and i apreeciate your respect
0 -
While it is a bit of an oof, this only really matters if you have tens of thousands of spare shards lying around, which is hundreds if not thousands of hours of playtime. The cell prices haven't changed, and if you want to buy a lot of outfits, you need cells anyway.
2 -
So did I, but I'm not giving respect to someone that isn't respecting others (for instance poor people who couldnt afford to buy outfits for whatever reason).
0 -
But you got to play with those outfits. Had you not bought them, you wouldn't have had them for all this time. And would you have enough to buy all those outfits with Iridescent Shards? You need a little over 100,000 Shards to buy 5 Very Rare outfits. You said "a lot of money," so that sounds like more than a few outfits.
There are some outfits I wish I could get my money back for because I ended up never using them, but that has nothing to do with this change. I don't regret the ones I have used, even if they will now be purchasable with Shards. (I play on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, in case that matters.)

Yeah, ok, maybe you're right. Disrecpect about people of me? NEVER, i just thought on my situation and i changed my thoughts, because, yeah, i agree, a lot of people cant buy auric and this will be nice for them. it was selfish of me, but not disrespect.
2 -
Ehhh I've probably spent like £1000 on dbd over the years and this change is great, it's incredibly unlikely I would have earned as much Iridescent shards as what I needed for the outfits I do own, this is a win win for everyone

You're a good one, not many around, refreshing to see. Faith in humanity restored.
EDIT To be clear has nothing to do with you agreeing with me, but you self reflecting, changing your mind and even pointing out why. Takes a lot of character to swallow ones pride, I dont see that hardly ever now days. Again, thank you.

This is a nice change, but it takes 8 million years to farm shards, so I'm only slightly excited. I feel like there's still a pretty strong incentive to buy stuff with cells and save time.
