Why pre-drop against wesker?

So this is more out of genuine curiosity, im aware of how strong pre dropping is against any killer, but from release i noticed people pre drop against wesker way more. Is it because of his infection? I mean, sure it's a nice slow down, but is it worth using so many resources so quickly?

Thank you all very kindly.

I don’t pre-drop against wesker. Don’t see the point. Rather, bait him into pulling his power up, then keep running the loop. Works every time.

Edit: Mostly works on oddly shaped loops, on long loops and walls that's an easy hit every time unless you get sidestepped

Depending on the map and killer, it can be the best option to just pre throw the entire map. Though it is brainless and boring.

It mostly depends on your team,if everyone's on a gen you can indeed comp drop the entire map.

Pre dropping against Wesker isn't even that effective considering he can just lunge at the pallet and vault it

Pre dropping against Wesker is actually a horrible idea if the Wesker actually knows how to use his killer. Whenever I get to a pallet I think a survivor is going to pre drop I charge the bound. If they drop it I bound over it and completely screw them over. If they don't I bound as soon as they're too far away to drop it and catch up.

You have to try for the stuns on Wesker or maybe pre-drop if you know he doesn't have his bound charges. Pre dropping is usually a death sentence unless you're far enough away that if he does bound over the pallet you have time to loop to the other side.

part trying to force him to mouse 1 instead of risking trying to juke his power, part "its what i do against most killers", part hoping he doesn't know the timing and will lunge into the pallet before its interactable and drop the vault. You'll probably see it less as time goes on, but it can still make a pretty good dead hard setup and other silly plays with flashbangs or bodyblocks.

I think a lot of survivors just aren’t sure how to counter him yet

Not really. There’s aren’t many loops long enough that he’s able to charge a lunge before I round the corner, unless he’s right on top of me. Which at that point, I’m dropping for a stun.

Alright, every time was a stretch because the charge time isn't that fast but I mostly mean long debris loops or long walls, those are easy hits unless you get side-stepped. The short loops, rocks and other stuff like trucks make you M1 most of the time

I get not wanting to pre-drop on certain tiles where you can just hold W to block LoS, I just know a lot of people give up infection and M1s because they greed too much against him and refuse to drop anything

I’m noticing that well- especially after yesterday’s games. I don’t get it either. I’ve only been hindered ONCE, while in chase with him- due to full infection. I feel like pre-dropping them would hurt me more, because a lot of times I bait the drop- then he waits trying to catch me off guard with a vault of his own. Sort of like baiting Legions in frenzy with a certain build (not a Legion player but it’s one of their most annoying builds- think it has Julie’s mixtape).

I think half of these pre drops against him are basically mistimed stun attempts or simply not risking to mess up timing and drop it early anyway
