Thoughts on Monstrous Shrine?

I've only used the perk once but went back to my usual build, but I feel like I'm still getting forced to camp because my pressure still lacks even with my recent build changes. I went against it once as survivor and immediately realized that I would die faster, making my friends get to me asap. Think it's worth running for pressure?

I don't think perk is worth running for it's effect alone. Only for scourge hook builds so you can hook in basement. Floods of rage plus monstrous shrine basement hook is quite good.

Probably good on ranged killers like trickster and huntress who can pressure hooks from afar. The scourge basement hooks is the real meat and potatoes though.

Otz made a pretty fun build for it: Agitation/SH: Pain Res/SH: Monstrous Shrine/Dead Mans Switch

carry them into the basement whenever possible, and then patrol gens. This will force the survivors off their gens in order to save their comrade, activating DMS. Its not meta or anything, but a fun build thats something different.

Typically if I feel like I have to pressure the hook it is because either the survivors are way better than me, and I need to cheese to "win", or the map is far too large. Monstrous Shrine is especially strong against survivors you are evenly matched with, since most smart survivors go for 50-59s saves. This makes survivors need to go for 40-49s saves, so you can punish genb4fren very effectively. This does require you to be quick on finding the closest survivor and chasing them away from hook however. If you let someone sneak by quickly the perk loses its value.

In general if you are already running Pain Res and Floods of Rage it is an excellent 3rd Scourge perk, that also gives you more Hooks to use. It is a very feast or famine build though, since it banks on 3 perks that only give rewards for downs in specific areas. You also need to be a killer that doesn't rely on multiple other perks to be "playable" like say STBFL for basic M1 killers. I find it to be great on higher mobility killers and killers than can use their power to consistently down survivors. Dredge/Onryo/Wesker for mobility, and Wesker/Blight/Nemesis for power downs.

It does increase the pressure on survivors to rescue someone more quickly versus push through on the gens. It works best though paired with at least one other Scourge Hook perk since part of its benefit is giving you a fifth Scourge Hook site.

buff it by 30% of it's current values

Cutting - at most - 12 seconds off of a survivor’s hook state is not at all worth a perk slot, or giving up pressure around a hooked survivor. And without carrying perks, getting a survivor hooked in the basement is unreliable.. and again, more often than not, worth camping rather than leaving.

Look at Reassurance, adding 30 seconds to the timer just for doing a quick run by the hook. Monstrous Shrine needs to have a lot stronger values to be a scary perk to face, in my opinion.
