2/10 I would not recommend

This is sad to say but I would no longer recommend dead by daylight to any of my friends who haven't played it before. Most matches I'm in are an absolutely miserable experience. Not just no fun, but down right frustrating and oppressive. This is especially true in solo queue which honestly majority of the time feels unplayable.

Take for example the sadako slugging strategy. 8/10 sadako's I go against use this strategy with the addons required for it. It's not fun at all to play against. If you're solo queue its also impossible to beat. I'm wondering why her addon's haven't been changed to render this strategy impossible yet. How could they possibly think players enjoy spending the majority of their time on the ground in a match?

When you consider Wesker being over buffed and how incredibly easy it is for him to hit his power, in my matches after keeping stats for over two days with over 30 matches wesker (post buff) had a kill rate of 75% average. And we see him A LOT. What fun is it to play against a killer that requires so little skill for such great reward? Basically offering no counter play. Not any of my friends, even the best loopers with 9k + hours last very long in chase with your average wesker.

Furthermore Tunneling is at an all time high. Majority of my matches go like this. Teammate or myself gets hooked, a teammate waits for the killer to leave, unhooks, the killer comes back (or is clearly on their way back as unhook happens, ignores the healthy player trying to help, even if they give the killer a free hit, and the killer goes for the hooked survivor again. Rinse and repeat until 2 are dead with 3-4 gens still left to do.

Where is the fun? The fact is that hardly any of the matches I play result in a smile on my face at any moment. Most are just frustration, disappointment, and resentment at the devs for still not fixing so many unfun things the game has. I'm very close, like many others I know, to uninstalling the game and moving on to one where the devs show they actually care about the players as a whole, and not just one small sect of the player base.

What Sadako slugging strategy are you talking about? I've never heard of that before and I play Sadako quite a bit when I play killer.

I may be wrong but said spookie builds up the grudge bar slowly but surely while slugging people using the green add on where healing adds a bar (i forget the name) and either the purple one where everyone stats with a tape or the iridescent one that activates tvs. its actually funny every once and awhile but gets irritating after 5.

For sure dbd is not easy for new players. Three of the six friends I've got into dbd hate it and couldn't care less about it when I bring it up.

The other 3 play it rarely and in very short bursts.

So the Ring Drawing which spreads Condemnation through healing, and either the Tape Editing Deck which makes survivors start with a tape, or the Iridescent Videotape which turns on the last 4 tvs Sadako teleported through, if she hits someone within 8 seconds of coming out of a TV.

These addons are pretty easy to counter, I'm not sure where any particular pain points around the addons are.

In fairness the iri videotape isnt that easy to counter, but I was just explaining the strategy as asked.

For elaboration, she slugs, and presumably someone heals the slug, who has a condemned bar which builds up as soon as the slug gets back up. teleport spam so they dont get to use the tvs to "clean" themselves. rinse and repeat till hearts give out, they get out, or they rage quit.

Ring Drawing + heavily slugging to force condemns. I havent gotten great use from it personally but some swear by it.

I appreciate the explanation for sure. Tbf, I accidentally flubbed the effect of the Video Tape too. It's getting a hit after manifesting, not projecting. Still not a very hard addon to counter. For me, I still don't really get how it's a problem. The issue with the Video Tape if that it only turns on the last 4 tv's that she herself teleported to if she hits someone after manifesting. So if you turn off tv's, even if she gets a hit, the addon doesn't turn on the tvs you turned off. And the whole slug situation is countered by unbreakable, exponential, adrenaline, soul guard, etc. it's only 1 stack of Condemned if you're healing someone from the ground.

I really don't get it. If you just make sure you're not wandering around with more than 3 stacks of Condemned, you should always be fine. There has to be something I'm missing if it's such a problem for people, especially with Unbreakable and self healing.

Shrug idk. Personally i dont see a problem other than seeing it 5 times in a row. Ask the OP, but i think (mostly hope) that theyre complaining about slugging in general and using the spookie example.

my 3 friends dropped the game, unfortunately, although I love it and have no plans to stop, but the last big update did leave some bad taste in people's mouths.

My group has dropped it as well. I have a couple of friends that still play occasionally.

My biggest gripe is that it just isn't that fun anymore. In fairness, I have a lot of hours so I could just be bored in general. But it seems like every game is is so similar.

Imagine complaining about sadako, she is basically free escape points.

What timeline are you playing DBD in that Sadako condemnation slugging is a major problem and not something you encounter once every few months, and Wesker is an A-tier killer? I wouldn't mind taking a visit. Mine is full of Nurses, Blights, and camping Bubbas.

There are maybe five people playing Sadako. Are people really complaining about her?

if you use the ring drawing and the slug strat, building condemned is easy af since picking a fellow Survivor up gives you condemned.

There's no real point in going for hooks with this strat, at least in the early game

This is the case with every game that's been going for years. Try playing DOTA or LOL as a new player. You'll have a great time. Same with Overwatch, Seige, Hearthstone, et cetera. DBD is beyond the point where a new player can join and have fun without the Everest-sized learning curve to catch up with everyone else, but it's not a DBD problem. No one else has figured it out. It's a little more severe with DBD only because there aren't any skills from other games that carry over.

And who cares if 8 of the last 10 Sadako games have been against a lame strategy? Those 10 games were probably over the course of the past six months.

I've encountered that strategy 6 times this week alone. There are many dumb/boring strategies killers use to make themselves OP. Like myers with vanity mirror, sloppy, devour on lerrys. If you solo queue that's basically unbeatable.
