My Thoughts On the Killers after 375 Hours

As the title says, just my own feelings on each killer and my experiences with them.

THE TRAPPER - I actually think he's pretty underrated. You do need a lot of map knowledge to be strong with him, and there are certain maps he just suffers on because there's too much wide open space to fully take advantage of what he does. But really good trapper players are terrifying. I think he's satisfying to win with. The Krampus skin is proabbly the best skin in the game.

THE WRAITH - Probably the best choice to learn the game for new players? Great killer for learning how to loop and the high mobility is never going to be awful in any situation. Struggles a little against top survivors but overall is generally very strong. Extremely hard to escape a 1 v 1 situation with so he's also stronger than average in some endgame situations. Not gonna lie hearing that ######### bell creeps me out a bit.

THE HILLBILLY - He's budget Leatherface but he's probably better than his relatively low play rate numbers suggest. I actually think he's a ton of fun to play both with and against. He's very much a what you see is what you get, direct to the point killer. Can be sneaky good.

THE NURSE - I don't enjoy playing her at all and she's probably my worst killer, sometimes I feel like the single worst Nurse player because everyone else just shreds with this character. Not fun to play against and can lead to frustrating games. Amazing perks I presiged her just for those but don't actually like using her.

THE SHAPE - I've had a lot of fun with him lately. Only one of his three perks I actually like is Dying Light. He can be a pain to play against and I probably get caught slipping on a generator more by Meyers players than any other killer. I actually think he's pretty decent.

THE HAG - Hexes suck a lot for the most part so I don't use any of her own perks on her. Kind of a frustrating power that makes you feel scummy because it encourages "camping without actually camping". I love this character as a concept but it doesn't quite hit the mark for being fun. Generally not a ton of fun to play against.

THE DOCTOR - I would guess I have some of my worst escape % stats against Doc, he's nasty. He's an absolute beast to play as too. His AOE special is grotesquely good at times for giving you information. I think overall he's one of the strongest killers, his games tend to be very hectic and all action, and I like both playing with and against him even though hearing I'm up against a Doc fills me with dread. One of the best killers in my opinion.

THE HUNTRESS - I really did her gimmick with the humming it makes her very distinct. There's some very good Huntress mains out there who can ######### you up real bad if you make any mistakes. Pretty fun to play though I suck at aiming her hatchets. Overall I think a pretty well balanced killer, either her or the Wraith is probably the good starting point for new players depending on your style.

THE CANNIBAL - I literally bought the game because I wanted to play as Leatherface and he doesn't disappoint. Really feels like a powerful psycho to play. I get personally offended when I play against Leatherface's who use him as a camper because it's a total waste of how fun he is to play in the chase, which is how I like to play myself. Very strong killer, just a shame so many people use him to camp which makes some of his mains unfortunately problematic.

THE NIGHTMARE - Kind of a weird one. He's really kind of... boring? I don't think his power is actually dramatic or effective enough. But I don't hate playing him because of the relative simplicity of it and he has a couple interesting perks. I dunno, he misses the mark a little but I don't actually think he's awful, just vanilla.

THE PIG - I think the Pig is pretty bad. The bear traps are more of an inconvienence than a real threat in 9/10 games. A lot of people seem to play either her or Ghost Face as the troll/friendly killer. I don't really like playing her and games against her are a total crap shoot on whether it's going to be a serious game or not.

THE CLOWN - Another killer I feel is a little underrated. Pretty easy to learn and play well, he can be really effective. I like his design, he's just the grossest, nastiest, least appealing evil clown possible. It's well done. I personally enjoy playing him but I don't see him that often at all when I play survivor.

THE SPIRIT - She's... okay? I don't feel she's distinctive enough when you look at also having Sadako and the Wraith, she's somewhere in that same camp and just doesn't stand out enough. Sad to say kind of a vanilla killer right now. I don't mind playing as her but I straight up enjoy playing Sadako and Wraith more. I virtually never see this killer when I play survivor.

THE LEGION - By far, by like miles and miles, my least favourite killer to play against. Every single game as a survivor vs Legion mains is a headache inducing slog. It's awful. I don't particularly enjoy playing as Legion either because it's so hard not to feel like an absolute prick. I know this killer already had a rework before I started to play but... Legion desperately needs a rework. Just an awful, unfun piece of garbage.

THE PLAGUE - It took a little bit for me to get the hang of using this killer but I like the design. The fountains are an okay gimmick. I've seen more of this killer as survivor lately, maybe just coincidence or maybe an uptick in interest it's hard to say. Overall I find sometimes you are better off just smashing people than puking on them, but still a good concept.

THE GHOST FACE - Seems to be the most popular friendly/troll killer for some reason. I haven't actually played as them that much. Actually strong Ghost Face players seem very very good, but it's hard for me to judge because such a weirdly high percentage of Ghost Face players are just messing around.

THE DEMOGORGAN - Nobody has this lol. All the players I've seen with it are strong but that could just be because it's all veterans.

THE ONI - I think Oni is the weakest killer in the game. His power is basically a less accurate Hilbilly chainsaw and you have to power up first to even get to use it. His perks aren't that great either. I have a really high escape rate against this killer because he just isn't that strong. Has some amazing skins but I can't be bothered to play him with so many better options on the table.

THE DEATHSLINGER - I suck at FPS games but this is a great conceptual killer. Don't see him much as a survivor for whatever reason. There are few things in the game as satisfying as hooking some idiot that is teabagging you from 20 yards away, it's beautiful. Really good killer, just wish I had better aim.

THE EXECUTIONER - Dominates against low tier competition and then just absolutely vanishes as you work your way up. I think it's weird that the killer can't see where he sends you if he puts you in the cage?

THE BLIGHT - I've barely played them. Hate their power. Don't see them much as survivor either.

THE TWINS - In 375 hours I've played against the Twins twice. I've played 3 games as the Twins. Just gonna throw it out there that maybe people aren't that into deformed fetuses? Just a wild thought.

THE ARTIST - Neat power but it seems hard to actually convert it into wins? Maybe I just need to play this killer more. I've seen one or two very good Artist players that just lockdown half the map at a time but they're a pretty rare sight.

THE ONRYO - A lot of people seem to think Sadako stinks but I actually like her, and on top of that I have more fun playing her than most of the other killers? Great perks. One of the first killers I prestiged. Genuinely a little mystified why people seem so nonplussed with her.

THE DREDGE - Buck wild creepy design, I like it. Seems really map dependant on whether they have a fighting chance or not. Neat to play against because of the darkness effect, but doesn't seem super popular. Seems overall pretty middle of the pack to me.

THE MASTERMIND - I actually like playing him a lot especially since we're sorting out the bizarre misses his charge would have some times. He's fun. I also don't mind playing against him in general though if you're in a one on one chase in open ground it's pretty much curtains. Overall I think he's solid.

I get it's cause they want cages to not work with hook perks but still... that's a stupid mechanic lol. All it does is make him tunnel central. They should at least give cages the endurance and speed effect from unhooks when unhooked from one.

Well your right that Oni is weakest killer but that is only if you don't give him hit. Good survivors are nightmare to face with him playing safely and using strongest loops and delaying your first hit very long. He could definetely use buffs.

there are a bunch of weird takes on killers and perks in this post

especially wraith being one of the strongest while oni being weak lmao

with more hours put into the game tho you'll get a better perspective on where everything stands.

however some points are pretty accurate.

Wraith and Sadako are bland af compared to Spirit.

I don't think Wraith is top tier so much as he is easy to learn and play which is why I say he makes a good beginner pick.

Definitely agree on Legion. Consistently awful experience playing against them.

Hard disagree on Oni though. A good Oni is terrifying and will 180 flick around everything.

Even if I don’t fully agree with it I actually really like this list because it’s not the usual tier list which has trapper and myers last. Plus it seems to focus on who is fun to play as rather than just how powerful they are which is always overlooked by “high MMR ultra competitive gamers”.

Onryo and wraith have absolutely nothing in common with Spirit. Bizzare comparison.

Well, @Hex_Maidenless is just looking at the killers with a fresh and unbiased eye. Some killers, like Oni, might actually be pretty strong, but thats the lack of experience with what they can really do. I find this kind of outlook fascinating and valuable and nothing to laugh about.

When I started out I always used Doctor to get into Iri grades and thought that he was really strong, because he helped a lot with the biggest problem of a new killer: stealth and finding survivors. But as I grew older and more experienced, I saw that Doctor had his merrits, but he was basically just an M1 killer with a bit of anti stealth.

THE TRAPPER - I don't think he's all that underrated because his early game is particularly slow since he has to walk around picking up traps and putting them where he wants. And sure, you can win with Trapper, but honestly if you can win with Trapper you can probably win with any basic attack 115% speed killer just as easily, if not more easily. Also Trapper gets significantly weaker the more observant the survivors are about his traps which hurts him in the upper ranks. Personally I'd love it if they made his Purple add-on where he starts the match with all his traps on hand but can't move them around his base kit, it's greatly speeds up his early game and is just a more fun way to play him, but that's just me.

THE HILLBILLY - I don't think Hillbilly is bad but he feels a lot more awkward to play than both Leatherface and Blight who would be his closest cousins mechanically. Basically if what you like about Hillbilly is zooming around the map then Blight can do the same thing but can also bounce around corners while doing it. And if you like chainsaw attacks Bubba's is much easier to land. Hillbilly is like a clumsier version of a hypothetical lovechild between Blight and Bubba.

THE NURSE - I'm with you, I can't stand playing as Nurse. It's the staring at the ground thing that bugs me, I can't imagine why anybody thought watching grass grow half the match would be a fun way to balance her power.

THE SHAPE - I'm not all that into Meyers base kit, but his Mirror add-ons and Infinite Evil and Tombstone are all a lot of fun. 🙂

THE HAG - I don't play Hag enough to be great with her but at least she's definitely a unique killer! She's much more tactical than a lot of killers, the last thing you want to do is get into extended chases with her so you really have to be smart about setting up your web of traps.

THE DOCTOR - I love Doctor's tracking, it's probably the best base kit tracking of all the killers. The only thing that holds him back really is he doesn't have any special mobility and, while his Shock can be useful in a chase, it's not as potent as, say, Bubba's chainsaw or even Clown's gasses. That's why I think a lot of popular tier lists have him in something like B or C tier.

THE HUNTRESS - The one thing that bugs me about Huntress and Trickster is the lack of an aiming reticle. This is the only first person shooter game I can think of where ranged attackers don't has a crosshair, it's kind of annoying. (Gunslinger at least aims down his gunsights.)

THE CANNIBAL - I totally agree with you about Cannibal being good without actually facecamping. I actually think a lot of people just do it because they think the Bubba facecamp gimmick is funny or whatever. I never do it though, face camping is just super boring and a lot of the time it's not even as good as being more proactive.

THE NIGHTMARE - I'd love to see them let Freddy have both snares and fake pallets simultaneously in his base kit and swap between them by tapping the Ability button (similar to how Clown has two types of bottles that he swaps between). That would give him extra flexibility where he could drop pallets between chases to set up for later surprise hits and set up snares mid-chase to slow down survivors trying to do a loop.

THE PIG - Pig's traps aren't really intended to get a lot of kills, they're meant to slow down survivors by forcing them to take time out to run around and try and get the trap off. Personally, though, I actually like Pig because I like stealth killers and her on-demand stealth with a very low profile is really good at sneaking up on survivors. I like to use her brown add-on that speeds up her crouching movement speed to compensate for how slow it normally is, and also her red add-on that takes away two traps but lets her see nearby auras while crouched. I land a ton of Ambush attacks with that combo. 😄

THE CLOWN - Clown is ok, his main problem is the lack of mobility. But yeah, in a chase he's pretty solid.

THE SPIRIT - I don't really like playing as Spirit, playing by ear alone isn't all that fun. That's just me though. 🤷‍♂️

THE LEGION - Legion is ok, I get why sometimes people think their matches can drag on too long though.

THE PLAGUE - Never really got into Plague much. I like the concept of the infections though.

THE GHOST FACE - I love stealth killers and Ghost Face is definitely solid at it. Not only does he move around full speed at stealth but he can also crouch move fairly quickly to be even harder to spot. And now that his Marks last 60 seconds and Marked survivors can't break you out of stealth it's made it even more effective to just fully Mark someone instead of always going for 99% Marks because you can pretty easily catch back up to someone who's Marked before their timer runs out.

THE DEMOGORGAN - Yeah, it's a bummer Demogorgon isn't for sale any more. Wesker's kind of scratches a similar itch though so at least new players can use him. 😄

THE ONI - Oni's power is better than Hillbilly's when he has it charged up. He's a lot more maneuverable while rushing around and he can also do standard lunge attacks while charged up that still instant down survivors and break pallets. So you really can hit with his instant downs more easily than with Hillbilly. Of course, like you said, his weakness is he has to charge his ability up and that early game slows him down a bit.

THE DEATHSLINGER - The one thing I don't like about Deathslinger is he turns very, very slowly while aiming his rifle. I think he's the only ranged attacker that can't turn at his normal rate while aiming his attack. It's kind of irritating.

THE EXECUTIONER - Cages are actually underrated in my opinion because every time you send someone to a Cage you've shaved off about 10 seconds of carry time compared to taking them to a hook, not to mention negated any possibility of a flashlight or pallet save or bodyblock or sabo play, etc. Yeah sometimes a hook can be a better move in some situations but my rule of thumb is Cage whenever I can so that I can immediately get into a new chase ASAP.

THE BLIGHT - I'm not great with Blight because I don't play him enough to consistently land his Rushes, but he's a really solid killer for people that can land his Rush attacks. He's got amazing map mobility, can hit around corners with Rushes, can break pallets with Rushes, and has some decent add-ons to boot. That's why in most tier lists he's usually in S tier just below Nurse.

THE TWINS - I think the Twins are ok but I have trouble landing Victor's pounces (again, because I don't play them regularly enough.) But they definitely are pretty decent for people who can use Victor really well.

THE ARTIST - Yeah I'm not sure why Artist isn't a little more popular, she's got one of the best attacks in the game for zoning survivors away from vaults and pallets.

THE ONRYO - I really like Sadako, although I also wouldn't turn down any buff they might eventually give her when they finally get around to doing a full balance pass on her. For instance, I have no idea why she's the only stealth killer that has a lullaby. 🤷‍♂️

THE DREDGE - I think Dredge is currently my favorite killer. Awesome aesthetic, has solid stealth during Nightfall, and terrific map mobility. I hardly ever even use his Remnant at loops to be honest and still do really well with him just by virtue of his mobility and stealth. He's one of the few killers I've actually had a survivor tell me after the match that I was jump scaring the bejeezus out of them. It doesn't get much better than that!😄

THE MASTERMIND - Wesker is a solid killer, although I haven't played him too much so far. I also think it's funny how he's the only killer with a 40 meter terror radius so running large terror radius loadouts with Distressing and other things is a ton of fun with him. 😄

    • My thoughts on your thoughts
    • Trapper: Mostly agree. Trapper requires knowledge of the maps and a chunk of luck to be sucessful outside 3 genning, but he's also the only one that can go from 0 to 4 down in a heartbeat (and thats always satisfying)
    • Wraith: Except the learning to loop part. Mostly wraiths just get as close as possible then start decloaking, usually removing the looping period.
    • Hillybilly: ....im biased against him so ima keep my trap shut
    • Nurse: Disagree. Personally i find facing nurses fun (though it looses luster after seeing the same build each time) because this is the only killer that drastically plays different than the others. People need to use their head in real time against her.
    • Shape: Also agree. Also has mirror add ons to make the game spooky again.
    • Hag: Disagree mostly. I find playing hag fun and when survivors activate the traps near a hook i dont feel bad if they call me on "camping" when i teleport back. (they did run up and activate them instead of crouch walking, what did they expect?) That said, when im the only one who knows to crouch walk she can be kinda annoying but thats hardly the Hag's fault.
    • Doctor: ...both? His games are generally all action and hecktic simply because his power nullifies stealth unless survivors bring in calm spirit (which now has a detrement). Other than constantly hunting a survivor he dont got to much (least to me) but its always fun to torment survivors via zap.
    • Huntress: Generally agree but I would NOT recomend her for beginners. Let them learn the basics first with something....normal? (If you can even say that here...)
    • Cannibal: ....encapsulates everything i feel
    • Nightmare: Second verse same as the first....i miss old freddy
    • Pig: Disagree, smart pigs are dangerous...though whether or not you get a booper or not is a coinflip
    • Clown: agree with everything but the design. I dislike the design (except mr puddles...no one can deny the puddles)
    • Spirit: mostly disagree but this is more of a "each their own" deal. I know most spirits stopped being...spirit as soon as they couldnt perform the stand still game which explains the low amount seen in the wilds.
    • Legion: Again both. While legion games are a slog if you wish to win as survivor, legion themself is sorta designed that way. Personally i enjoy being a prick to survivors especially when they deserve it (mayhaps ran into to many salty and toxic ones that it rubbed off on me but i cant realy do anything about them so.....)
    • Plague: pritty much spot on from my view. It is sometimes better to smash face instead of puking on them cause it can get a down faster. You can puke on them after and its all good.
    • Ghostface: Agreeing that ghostfaces can be very good when not trolling. Disagree in that I have seen ghostfaces that troll and are still super dangerous while trolling....its surreal
    • Demodog: Since no one can get demo anymore, most demos know how to use em.
    • Oni: Disagree. Oni may have to work abit for his power, but its effectively a better version of billy. His perks are also useful though not as an adept.
    • Deathslinger: Agree. The reason theyre arent many in the wild is probably cause most (like me) think he feels clunky to play as.
    • Executioner: Disagree. Executioners that have worked their way up effectively have a pain bubble as in survivors in said bubble risk becoming in pain~ The reason he cant see cages is so he doesnt just guard them. It doesnt really stop him but atleast bhvr attempted to pre-emptively stop the problem.
    • Blight: Personally find them fun to play as and against (so long as they have a non basic [beep] build)
    • Twins: You maaaay have a point. In semi-seriousness, twins are rare cause most people use them to camp instead of being scarey good with them (though admittedly thats actually really hard)
    • Artist: ....biased in favor of so ima keep my trap shut
    • Onryo: Agree. Though i can atleast logic the reason people think shes horrible is cause she has to be a basic m1 killer in chase.
    • Dredge: Agree...once got the Game and had only 6 lockers on the top floor somehow....(and yes, we COUNTED)
    • Mastermind: Agree, though i have the opposite problem where if im in a narrow area its game over for me.

Most of this is quite accurate. But Doctor being one of the strongest killers and Billy a budget Leatherface?

Doctor is a pretty mediocre killer. As soon as a pallet is dropped, his power hardly works unless the survivor is unprepared. With no map mobility and a pretty time consuming secondary power he needs to be played efficiently or he will lose the match.

One day Skybilly will be back and his revenge will be swift. With the intensity of a thousand collapsing suns he will rampage through the masses on his quest for vengeance!
