Let’s be real with Hex:Ruin
Since the meta shift, I automatically know the killer has penti the second I see they have ruin. It’s like running a boon other than COH, almighty troll lol

I sometimes run Ruin without Penti...although that's because I don't have penti unlocked.

I faced new ruin for the first time yesterday. A Twins. Although it was the most interesting match I’ve had in weeks, Ruin did jack for them, nor did they run Pentimento.

Current Ruin is still surprisingly okay on Legion, since Frenzy allows you to checks on everyone pretty often (or make them run to the edges of the map), mending forces 12 seconds of regression, and you have mobility to patrol by your totem between chains.
I've seen a few Ruin Legion recently and every time Ruin was a pretty big thorn in my team's side. I haven't tested it myself though.

It's a useless perk. Base regression, can be destroyed or blessed over, and deactivates once a survivor is dead (rewarding the survivors for dying).
I think all the boon perks are pretty useful, but if you're going to run boon perks at all, at least include CoH as part of your boon.

Ruin was Ruined, again, but this time for real.

Ruin is trash tier now. I would imagine the only reason anyone would run it would be so it gets cleansed (Penti). Even then...meh.

I run it sometimes cause I am to lazy to kick gens. Its not what it once was but still is playable with right killer.

100% regression is totally not worth a perk slot. Ruin is probably one of the most weak perks right now

people still use ruin?
its extremely bad u would be off better with anything

Ruin was a strong perk but tge nerf made it so running it is actually worse then not as good luck using pop or COB with it

Pentimento? Huh. Whenever I see Ruin, I figure it's someone who hasn't gotten around to updating their build.

So what's the point of this post?
Ruin isn't what it used to be... But then I wonder if Ruin would still be used if it had 200% gen regression but kept the deactivation

I actually used it without Pentimento. On Artist no less. It occurred to me the Ruin/Surveillance combo might be particularly effective on her.
I've also been thinking off and on about a meme build for Pig centered on getting Ruin to deactivate via head pop.

I used Ruin/Surveillance on Artist as well. It's nice. It gives a lot of information especially in the early game. I send crows at the totem every so often when I run this just to keep it up longer.
I've also used it on Nemesis since if a zombie chases a survivor off a gen it gives me pretty good information as well.

It definitely worked well. Particularly combined with Pain Resonance. I only won 1 of the 3 games I used the build in, but that was more me not being that good with Artist. Third game I hit my stride, made better use of crows (even got some loop snipes) and got a 3k w/ hatch escape.
My other big issue was them booning over Ruin, which makes me want to try Thrill of the Hunt as perk #4.

I like the idea of Thrill of the Hunt as well since any interruption from crows throws the cleansing timer back to zero.

12 seconds of Ruin regression is 3 seconds of gen time iirc.

I still use Ruin as I despise wasting time to kick gens. If my Hex is gone in the first minute so be it.

Even with pentimento it's not worth it honestly.

I think I've literally only faced Ruin exactly ONE single time since the last big update.
I never really ran Ruin as Killer even before, but I certainly don't run it now.
It requires insane luck to get any value out of it, and not worth taking up a perk slot.
