Killers, why do (some of) you do this?
There are two survivors left usually me and someone else, and the killer can't find me because I'm off doing a generator in the farthest regions of the map. If they come around, I'll go and hide because I don't wanna be caught, because I wanna keep playing. The killer always runs into the other survivor, and eventually lets the survivor go. What does the other survivor do? Run them right over to me and points me out, just so they can farm me right off the hook until I die and the killer lets the other survivor escape. This is the 3rd time this happened this week, why do you killers do this just because you can't find me?

Pretty sure that is against TOS which you can report and get them banned providing you have evidence.
6 -
To hook all four survivors I’ll purposefully ignore another survivor. The other survivor pointing you out and farming you is a reportable offense in my opinion.
13 -
The survivor that ratted you out can be reported for game throwing via working with the killer.
Yes it does seem the killers kill you for being good at hiding. When I do play I try to get everyone at least once but I don't go so far out of my way to have a survivor lead me to their friends to farm. If I suspect they are selling out their friends they die instead and I let the betrayed go.
3 -
I never do this. Whoever I find, goes on hook. If I never find you, then you get a shot at hatch. If a survivor tries to sandbag and point you out, they are getting killed and I’ll give you hatch unless you hid all game. I play harsh but fair in circumstances as you said.
2 -
I've never seen anyone do this, or done this.
2 -
Survivor working actively with the killer counts as griefing and you can report it.
3 -
It sucks, you don't want it to.
4 -
Well unfortunately I never record my gameplay because... well idk how.
1 -
I've seen survivors try to do that before as killer.
Most likely, the other survivor gave up and the killer found them cute enough to spare.
In these kind of situations, I let both survivors go, because I don't want the 4rth to feel betrayed by their teammate. If they're trying to snitch though they get the hook.
2 -
The killers I go against, if the survivor tries to snitch... it works <_<

I understand you, I don't either. I'm not a streamer, nor I record much. I play games because I love playing games, not watching games. So for the sake of recording I have put up FRAPS (get an unlocked version of it otherwise the video is limited to 30 seconds), and I used that. Also windows 10 has some capture function, that I never used. Also there is Nvidia Shadow Play. But I simply used fraps because I'm familiar with it and it's lightweight. Just set the video recording preferences to not end up with a huge video file. And in game when you want to start recording just hit F9 to start recording and F9 again to stop recording.
But otherwise I'm not so hot on doing it either, and I rarely did it for example when 2 survivors held the game hostage for a long time hiding and not helping anybody. And I wasted enough time looking for them, in the end I recorded it and reported them

I have, but rarely. And I'll be honest, how I feel about it depends on the situation. If we're 30-40+ minutes into the match, we've reached to the point of absurdity and I'm ready for it to be done, I'll take the assist.
If this happens as soon as it is down to two survs, I will kill and possibly report the surv who tried to sell the other out, and let the last one go.
As for hiding, kudos to the surv for being good at it, so long as they are still trying to progress the game. If all they're doing is hiding, not trying to escape but simply not be found, I don't think they are playing the game as it is intended. Because (on most maps) doing nothing but hiding is one of, if not the easiest things to do in the game, and wastes everyone's time.
And as another surv, it's truly aggravating when you're trying to complete objectives and you have one teammate who is unwilling to assume any risk, and does nothing but run and hide.
I won't sell out a teammate, but in late game when I am trying to get gens done my teammate is just hiding/trying to wait me out for hatch, I would really like to.

As killer I haven't seen it doing it either personally. Or maybe I have seen, it but I just didn't care much where some idiot is pointing at, and downed him, and hooked him :)) I didn't think much of it in case that actually happened, if it did.

I've never sold out a teammate, the closest I've been was accidentally running the killer into another survivor on a gen but not on purpose. Also my game are never that long, usually 25 minutes max. How boring it is also to just hide end game, you don't get any points and you're just doing nothing. The others assume I'm doing nothing though because they never find me, since I pick the farthest gen away to do.

:(
I'm sorry that's the case. When I was playing survivor last week I got loaded into a game with two Clowns (last survivor, who I saved and healed, repayed that by selling me out and teabagging next to my hook), so I understand the feeling :/
The other day as killer I had the most infuriating lazy Claudette who had found a pink key and was refusing to do gens (unlike the last survivor, Jake, who was still trying to do them despite there being 5 gens to do and only 2 of them after 2 DCs, and him being unaware that I became friendly). I had already decided to let them go because of the DCs, and generally in these cases I show the survivors that they can do the gens and leave. She just didn't want to, putting the key on the ground in front of me, nodding, taking it back and running towards the Jake.
The Jake ended up doing all the gens on his own and the Claudette died. I also gave him all the pallet stuns he wanted because there were bloody party favors involved. But I was just so flabbergasted by that Claudette. She just had no shame. How selfish must you be that when you see the killer has no intention to kill anyone, you still want to sell your teammate out just to get value from an item ?

The killers that do it mostly do it because of them disapproving of the hiding, because they view it as you betraying your teammate rather than trying to help or something. I will say, the fact it still happens even when you're doing a gen is confusing, the only times I have done it is because of the one hiding just not being on a gen as an effort to help the teammate. But the disapproval one from my experience on both ends, tends to be why killers do that.

I’ve never done that as a killer so … 🤷♂️
0 -
I haven't either, because I know how it feels. 😕
1 -
The closest thing I do to this is down the 3rd person, static blast the area, if I don't find you, 3rd guy goes on hook, I don't have patience, lol
0 -
These killers I face seem to have all the time in the world lol
0 -
Just curious, how often do you have 30-40 minute matches? Seems kinda obsured
0 -
Also, you seem like a good killer, I should face you xD
0 -
I guess that's half the reason why I play doc, I either find you fast or just move on with the game, lol
0 -
The farming part is a big nono, reportable.
I'd do something like this when the hiding survivor is doing nothing but letting teammates die. I'll track them down to death, simply ignoring other survivors. If they follow ill knock them down because my intention isint to work with them
0 -
the "killer" isn't doing anything, its the survivor that griefed you that did something.
When killers do this to me I run to a gen and work on it, then if they get the message I'll bleed out and the other survivor has to unfortunately hide for 4 minutes.
0 -
Well in this case they sort of work together. It doesn't work if the killer also doesn't play along and simply kills the guy who tries to be a smartass selling out teammates just to troll them. Both are equally guilty. Since the killer doesn't attack the survivor and just follows him to sell out his team mate. Just the survivor is technically guilty of griefing since he shouldn't work together with the killer to begin with, no matter what the killer does.

You answered your own question right at the end, I do not like immersed players. It is not about the win, at that point. It is about denying you the one thing you are so insanely desperate for. And you can tell it works, because you guys always cry about the karmic retribution. That other survivor deserved a real teammate and I deserved a real game. So you die. Simple as that.
2 -
Very rarely, but when it happens, it's 100% because someone has mistaken DBD for a hide and seek sim.
1 -
That's why I play doc, even if I miss SB, the illusion docs give so much info by themselves, that I know where to generally check
0 -
Yeah, wiggle off, and then lets them escape after the survivor leads the killer to me. After they farm me if I have hooks remaining...
0 -
Kind of scummy if you let the a teammate lead them to the other survivor and then kill the one that was ratted out, and then let the one who ratted them out go free.
0 -
No but that's what this forum thread I started was about so I was assuming that's what you were talking about.
0 -
Killer just want his 4k.
What your teammate done to you, is a clear TOS braking and you should report that.
1 -
There's no 4k if he lets one survivor escape. Also, can't report with no video evidence.
0 -
Well, still, not killer falt. Killers can have preferences, he wanted you dead.
The exact D-k move was from your teammate in this situation.
0 -
Yeah it's so stupid to me, that you have to have an evidence for reports, like everyone should record all their games like some TTV's... -_-
0 -
No, it's the killer's fault too, as well as the survivor's. If the killer wanted to, he could've been smart enough to see what the survivor was doing and not have fallen for it.
0 -
If you never take chases and stick to ninja gaiden-ing gens I'd rather kill you then the survivor that put themselves at risk for their team. It's part of playing survivor that I myself had to adjust to. If I haven't been hooked once and one or two of my team are on deathhook I go find the killer and run the best I can.
Just how it be sometimes I guess.
And if other survivors are selling you out it's probably not without reason.
1 -
Who said I never take chases? You're assuming I'm hiding the whole entire game doing nothing. So you'd let the one who was just conveniently found, point me out, farm me, and then let them leave while I was still doing the objective? I'm not gonna just run into the killer's face and say "hit me! hook me!". Part of playing survivor isn't getting ratted out by your team and farmed to death.
2 -
As a killer i'll do this to get extra hooks. For example, if i only hooked one once, or 0 times, and the other person is on death hook, and i find them, i'll often injure them, then go look for you so i can get more hooks.
0 -
I don't think people are understanding me, the killer is letting the survivor lead them to me, farming me, killing me, and letting the last survivor escape. That's griefing, that's not just letting the killer get more hooks.
0 -
No assumptions okay? And no offense meant. But what you are describing is outside of the normal DbD game flow. I generally get survivors pointing out other survivors if they are hiding for hatch from match start or some other scummy tactic. If that's not you maybe you just had a stretch of toxic teammates. It happens.
0 -
The only time I will allow this is if I know that the last survivor has done nothing but hide all game waiting for hatch. I get how frustrating that can be to watch someone hide all game and throw from the beginning. If someone tries to lead me to someone who has actually been doing stuff but is just good at stealth then I'll kill the snitch.
0 -
wait, survivors are ratting you out to the killer and you're wondering why killers would do this? what?
0 -
Why so sarcastic? Obviously, yeah I am. Just like people are questioning why killers still to this day camp and tunnel. Because it's annoying? My question is, why let the rat escape and not kill them too.
1 -
As people can tell I’m about as Killer sided as they come but I had a game just last night where a hit a survivor and he ran to the basement and pointed out a survivor in a locker.I hooked him and got the person from the locker and let them wiggle free and go heal up.I camped the guy out in the hook and at end game told the other survivors what happened and they all appreciated knowing.I have seen several survivors backstab their teammates and I usually try to punish them for it.
2 -
Not offended at all, just having it happen too often so I'm starting to see if anyone else does this or is experiencing this as well. Not to hear "Well, they just wanted hooks", from some people, that's not it or else they would've killed the last survivor too. It's too annoying.
0 -
That's what they should all do, not amuse rats and let them farm me as well as a free hatch escape. Especially if they have been doing nothing and I've been doing gens.
0 -
I will say this though,I agree with some others in here,if you hide around corners the whole game and you are good at hiding that long,if I catch you I’m making sure I don’t have to worry about looking for you anymore.
0 -
It’s reportable, but nothing will come of it.
