If Wesker's range must be easy-to-use and forgiving, why does he keep his one-shot ability?
There's not a shooter game that this can be compared to. Either they don't allow for one-shot downs, including snipers, or they require enough skill to justify a one-shot down. With DBD, if a ranged attack requires skill, it receives complaints. Huntress can't have realistic hitboxes because too many would complain. She's gotta keep he beachballs. Same thing with Wesker. His hitbox is too difficult, it has to be fixed. Why doesn't this include a nerf to balance his now easy-to-use power, i.e. Why does he still have a one-shot ability?
"Use the spray". And get rid of his aura-reading, yes. If a killer has a one-shot ability, get rid of that killer's ability to read auras. This includes Bubba, Billy, Myers, Ghostface, etc.

His ability to one shot never happens unless the survivors wait too long to use the spray which they often don't.
Plus he actually has to hit the wall slam to get any value. If you're thrown you don't get one shot
26 -
Because getting one shot is totally on the survivors. 12 uses of spray is enough to never get one shot and finish the game. There are extreme cases where the game will go past that point but in all my wesker games it's never happened. He's not even fully ranged he can't hit over obstacles.
17 -
I've seen a handful of survivors go from healthy to dying due to infection. It's not common, because survivors largely have control over the infection meter.
11 -
Not at endgame on Midwich after recently being hooked.
1 -
Get rid of the one-shot down. He's not skillful enough to justify it. Killer mains complained and his hitbox became easy-to-use, like Huntress. One for one. A buff receives a nerf.
1 -
Too easy to use to justify a one-shot.
1 -
You're describing a relatively niche situation. You get unhook have adrenaline and Wesker chases you until your infection turns red for the instant down.
In the meantime your teammates can open the exit gate and worst case you die and they leave. Hardly a big deal.
7 -
He did get nerfed. His hitbox was bigger on the PTB
10 -
And it's just as easy to counter.
5 -
You have to use the spray. And he still gets aura-reading which leads to a one-shot ability.
1 -
Get rid of the aura-reading if the one-shot ability has to remain. Can't have both.
1 -
Can't have both aura-reading and an easy-to-use one-shot ability.
1 -
It's not aura reading, it's killer instinct.
And so what if he knows where you are when you spray? You are no longer instant downable.
10 -
Killer instinct is different then aura reading it gives you a general direction that's it. Plus if you use the spray your not infected which means your not one shot. If he's getting to you before you can spray stop spraying inside his huge TR.
Out of all the wesker games I've played and vs I've never been 1 shot and I've gotten about 2.
0 -
I'm talking about all aura-reading, not just killer instinct. Killer needs either high gamesense or high mechanical skill to justify one-shot downs. If the power is easy-to-use and one-shot, no aura-reading. If it's mechanically difficult, the aura-reading and killer instinct can stay.
0 -
Killers complained about his hitbox because he was literally going through survivors.
7 -
Wesker has no base-kit aura reading.
8 -
Killers have basekit aura-reading. They can see the auras of gens. The killer needs either game sense or mechanical skill to justify one-shot downs. Wesker needs neither. Myers and Ghostface have no mobility and there's a lore aspect to their power. Billy needs mechanical skill and Leatherface needs to play tiles. Wesker is like none of these examples.
0 -
You want to take away the ability to see gens just because Wesker has an extremely limited ability to instant down a survivor?
If this ain't a bait post then it's a literal skill issue.
14 -
So Wesker doesn't play tiles?
4 -
Didn't you know that once you hit the power button on killer it goes into auto pilot and automatically hits there power. The killer player has no input or skill when doing so.
8 -
To your last sentence:
Why not both?
4 -
Skill issue
5 -
It's a skill issue that allowed Wesker to have both a forgiving ranged attack and a one-shot ability. Either make him difficult to use or get rid of his one-shot ability. As it is right now, it's a body shot with a shotgun to injure/down the survivor with the tentacle, compared with PvP shooter games.
0 -
DBD isn't a PvP shooter.
The one shot ability hardly matters in 99% of games.
Wesker isn't an easy killer to play as is.
All the issues you are listing come across as someone who hasn't even touched Wesker and is having a hard time playing against him due to a skill issue.
6 -
That's what got us here, yes. The equivalent of a body shot with a shotgun in an FPS should not down a survivor. That's Wesker's power.
1 -
Weskers power has amole time while he readys up, he makes a sound when he is about to use it, it only goes foqard, and you can use objects to block it, if it werent as easy to dodge, yes it could be a problem, but its painfully easy to counter.
4 -
If you're going to give Killer information (aura-reading), you have to limit the power (one-shot abilities). There's a problem with hitboxes in this game. Huntress does not have to get a headshot, she throws a beachball. That's why Iri Head plus Infantry Belt was incredibly broken. If you want one-shot downs, it's got to be pin-point accurate aim.
1 -
That doesn't work at endgame on Midwich.
0 -
All killers can see the aura of gens. This is just how the game is. Wesker isn't special in this regards.
You keep complaining about his one-shot, but compared to actual one shot killers like Billy, Bubba, Ghostface, and Myers his instant down is insanely weak and that's because the main point of his power isn't to instant down.
You want things in DbD to have pinpoint aim, but this isn't a PvP shooter. Having pinpoint accuracy isn't important. The killer is a single player and hitboxes do favor the killers, because otherwise playing many killers would feel awful where you see your power literally go through survivors.
Just play Wesker.

Am I being trolled? Like how is this event an argument.

The real problem, I think, is that newer killers are getting a bit of this power from here and a bit that power from there. People say that Wesker is "the fair Nurse", right? But, he's also a little bit bit of Myers, also. It creates gameplay scenarios where the BS becomes very apparent. Wesker on Midwich is an example.
0 -
You have a profile picture of Deathslinger. You have to aim with him. Other killers have beachball hitboxes: Victor, Demo, Huntress, Wesker, etc.
1 -
He is nothing like Myers.
Myers has to stalk and build up his own meter to make the entire team exposed.
Wesker has to bound grab a survivor to initially infect them, has to either catch and throw the survivor 4-5 times just to fully infect that single survivor or chase them without doing any damage for almost 2 minutes just to get a single instant down with his power as it doesn't inflict expose status by default.
Also you keep bringing up a single map as somehow a killer should be nerfed, because they have a good map. It would be like nerfing Trapper, because there's a map where he can most easily hide his traps.
7 -
He has a one-shot ability, that makes him like Myers, to an extent. He's a bit like Legion and Nurse, too. He also has mobility, anti-loop, built-in slowdown, built-in information, etc. He's a little bit of this killer, a little bit of that killer.

LOL
If having a one shot ability is all that is needed to make a killer like myers than every killer can be like myers with perks like haunted grounds, devour hope, and starstruck.
6 -
You run those perks to become more like Myers, yes. There's a reason why Hillbilly is high-skill with a one-shot ability. Wesker has one but not the other and, for the most part, the game is balanced around two hits to down a survivor. Just like a body shot with a shotgun doesn't down an opponent in a shooter game.

Thus shows how little you know about DBD because its not a FPS it's a hockey simulator.
But seriously trying to compare dbd to a fps they are completely different games and one has nothing to do with the balance of the other or the way it should work. One is either everyone vs everyone or even teams dbd is a 4v1.
6 -
They're similar in the situations where the player says to themselves, "That's BS". When I got downed while healthy against Wesker on Midwich, that's what came to mind. Situations like that accumulate in multiplayer games. I haven't been playing DBD much lately. I played today. Wesker's power doesn't draw me back in.

This thread is incredible LOL
6 -
Not even. If I'm playing a fighting game and the character has a shotgun for a special move that aims at the head does that mean that shotgun should one shot? No because that would be stupid and make no sense in the context of the game. There is also multiple action shooters where you can unload multiple shotgun rounds to a players face and not kill them. What works in one style of game doesn't work in all of them.
3 -
His hitbox is NOT easy to use because he moves at HALF the speed of a completely uncharged hatchet throw (he moves at about 14 m/s, uncharged hatchet moves at 25 m/s) it only makes sense his hitbox is wide to both encompass his first person view and to compensate for how slow he is even compared to a much wider hitbox Killer like Demogorgon with his shred. There is a lore aspect to Wesker's power, punching canisters of Uroboros has infected him with Uroboros as well and he wants to spread Uroboros all over the world. Myers and Ghostface have no mobility and they suck because of it, their powers tend to be inconsistent without overpowered addons for Myers or insane luck with Ghostface. Billy and Leatherface need to play tiles but so does Wesker.
Wesker needs skilful usage of his power in loops to get a hit. Wesker is limited by windows and pallets. Wesker needs mechanical skill, he has pretty limited mobility compared to a much stronger Killer like Blight or Nurse or even Hillbilly and Dredge which is compensated for with his infection slowdown. Wesker's power usage is very lore accurate, as he truly believes Uroboros is the next step in human evolution.
2 -
Really though we're having a discussion on an Asymmetrical Fps hockey game.
4 -
He has a one shot and a Hindered effect to fully infected Survivors to encourage them to USE THE SPRAYS.
This applies slowdown which he really needs, because his power doesn't instantly do damage in most cases. Grabbing a Survivor and slamming or throwing them into a wall, while it looks cool, can sometimes take up to 8 seconds just to get out of the way. He wastes time doing this instead of instantly damaging like a Killer like Blight and while doing so, he loses the ability to use his power for mobility at all. His mobility is very limited and requires him to use both charges of his only power which are often better spent hitting people and applying infection, information on someone who just used a spray is pretty normal.
The reason he instantly picks up an injured Survivor after Bounding into them and why he's immune to flashlights is a few reasons: rewarding him for using his ability correctly which is still difficult against even decent Survivors and saving the insane amount of time wasted by using his cool looking power. The problem with cool powers that don't consistently instadown is that they waste a lot of time, which is why Killers with cooler powers have something to compensate like good map mobility, teleportation or a passive slowdown.

Reasons not to balance around forum warriors for 500, Alex.

More or less, DBD is balanced around the killer getting two hits for a down. As far as Wesker goes, he has a shotgun where he doesn't need to aim for the head. He shouldn't have a one-shot ability, period. His built-in Compound 33 is enough.
0 -
It's really not easy-to-use though. It has the same problem as Billy and Victor, where you mostly end up using it in melee range (or close to melee range), because it's so easy for survivors to wiggle dodge it at further distances.
If we really want to compare this with PvP shooters, none of those games have the absolutely ridiculous movement that survivors have in this game, where they don't turn properly, and they can "360" because their movement is so messed up. We could have much better hitboxes for some of the killer powers, if BHVR would fix survivor movement. And they did fix survivor movement one PTB, but survivors cried so much that BHVR reverted the changes.

Gosh, dude, you are on a one track mind crusade to get Wesker nerfed. Why do you hate him so much? Your FPS analogy falls flat on several levels and just because you think that one-shot killers don't deserve any kind of aura reading doesn't mean that your opinion is valid even one bit.
Also, you seem to confuse a lot of terms and mix then up: aura reading is literally seeing the red outlines of characters through walls and objects. Wesker doesn't have that, he gets Killer instinct when we survivor uses a spray. Killer instinct is most often quite short lived and just gives the killer a kind of pointer (" maybe look at that loop over there", "have you checked shack?"), it's useful to maybe get a chase going, but it doesn't give a lot of info like were get are looking, what they are doing, maybe it they entered a locker etc. Killer Instinct is vastly inferior to aura reading.
And where do you get that Weskers power is easy to use? It's not super hard, but you have to be very patient and somewhat on point against anyone but the most lenient and helpful suevivors. So maybe take a step back, end your crusade and get a few games as Wesker under your belt. :)

And yet killers who can instant down survivors exists and aren't just dominating the game.
You need to stop thinking of DBD as a shooter.
