Unbreakable base-kit won't destroy the game.
If you are to ask for my honest opinion, I think this patch (If it is to go through to Public Servers) is a form of in-game penalty.
The same way that DH was a crutch that allowed Survivors to greed a loop/pallet/window, the same way that Hatch was. This change will disallow players the opportunity to hold hostage a game (If someone sees this, and cries that it's not holding it hostage, that my definition is wrong, save urself the time). It will directly punish players that actively go against their main objective of hooking/killing the survivor by allowing the survivor to pick themselves up.
If you do not slug - you are not affected by this patch. If you do not slug someone for more than 30 seconds, you won't be affected by this patch.
The only people are those that actively choose to use and abuse the slugging mechanic in-game.
You can deny this mechanic ever by coming in to play by simply hooking a survivor.

Not always the case that the killer is abusing survivors being downed. Simple as that.

There is thousands more situations where killers needs to slug without abusing it in any way, it will affect them, and it will be game breaking.
Anyone saying "it won't affect normal match" just don't know enough situations that can happen in a game.

Basekit Unbreakable isn't the main problem, it's the Mori changes that require it that remove countless gameplay options.

You don't ever 'have to do anything'. If you are 'having to slug' more than 1 person for more than 45 seconds, you are being greedy, simple as that.
1 -
Okay, you are simply incorrect then.

Insta heals havent, infinites havent, Nurse hasn't so yeah the coming changes most likely wont either.

Good phrasing of words. By all means we should block a pallet if the survivor greeds it for 3 times sprinting through it.
But no, slugging isnt a bad thing.

If basekit infinite UB is going to be a thing, it can't be added without also nerfing/reworking Boil Over and hook sabo.
The simpler fix is to allow it to be used only under certain conditions -- once per match, or only when everyone is downed/hooked, or something like that.

But a vast, and increasing ,amount of time they are. Simple as that.

I can't make an opinion on this yet until we see how bad it can be abused when the PTB comes out tomorrow

Yeah and i think killers can also just slug once per match or when certain conditions are met, like exit gates are open. /s

SIMPLY hook a survivor? The same words were used as justification for the Pain Res nerf.

How is the killer supposed to pressure four survivors? It is gameplay changes like this that make the killer realize there is only one solution: Tunnel out one player then do it again.

Here's a way to nerf power struggle if this goes to live: Have the entity break the pallet when it's used via power struggle.

usually is though 99% of the time

Then again, it is also not. An impass. Doesn't require a change

Sure. That is correct. However, out of those thousands of situations there are exactly zero that equate to the griefing of making a survivor bleed out for 4 minutes. None of them. So fix the slugging, then fix the problems that the fix will create. Don't leave a broken system so broken that it is used to harass other players.

Can you report a person for slugging? Does the game end if everyone is slugged? It isn't holding the game hostage. Quite frankly in my experience people who slugged and bled everyone out to troll are extremely rare.
Meanwhile we've had multiple map and perk changes because people would find spots you physically couldn't hook them.

You're right. Basekit Unbreakable won't destroy this game. In that regard DBD is a bit like a Cockroach. No matter what you, it won't die easily. I mean we went through an extremely stale meta that literally caused some players to quit, we have a massive cheater problem, there are still a lot of things that make this game less fun than it could be.
However this incentivises hardcore tunneling. Don't believe me? Why did killers slug before? To ensure a 4k, yeah. But also to put more pressure on the team. To actively force multiple people away from gens. Picture this: One on the ground, another in chase and one coming for the pick up. That's pretty decent stalling. Now that gens get done faster than before the killer buffs and this strategy will soon be useless how else will killers stop 3 survivors from sitting on gens at all times? By getting 1 out immediately. Apart from that there are also numerous situations which afford the killer to slug no matter if they want to or not.

Possibly inflation.

What other thousand situations are there?
There is only one I can think of, and that would only become a problem if the devs do finally listen to the community about DS and buff it back to 5 seconds.

What will affect me on this patch is literally someone following me in chase, the person I'm chasing goes down under a pallet and im forced to slug or else the guy hovering for a pallet save prevents me from picking up. Now you add unbreakable to that and that 45 second timer gets reduced to 22.5 seconds.... yeah even with nerfing unbreakable to 50% its still a around a 30 second timer. Either way its a lose lose situation most of the time.

Every down while playing Twins, as a simple example. Oni and Sadako also have legit need to slug as well.

Fair enough, certain killers will suffer more of this change. I do not think Oni will become unviable though, for example, he will still be strong. Killers like Twins will suffer greatly though.
But in my opinion, that's more of a problem exclusive to them and their design. Those killers instead should be addressed.
