So next mid-chapter is "just" flashlight changes (finaly) and you can select two challenges in Tome?
I don't want to sound rude, but this looks like the most boring mid chapter ever. At least the last small mid chapter changed few addons, this is just like two things. (I don't count the prestige catch up mechanic as something new or I don't even care about it honestly).

I feel like our first genuinely small midchapter since they started making big swings with those is a fair price to pay for continued work on the biggest changes to ever hit the game, personally.
They don't all have to be new and shiny, they can just have some nice quality of life changes when we know it's because bigger things are in development.

I agree but it seems there was a bit too much anticipation, mostly by the community itself who was autoconvinced there were going to be a lot of changes, so now some people are feeling disapointed at a "contentless" patch (the bug fix list is decent).
Hype is a dangerous thing.

I just want to see some changes for some of the weaker killers a nerf to nurse.
Sadako, Myers, to an extent Freddy need some buffs pretty badly as they aren't fun to play.

For balance stuff? I mean, wouldn't the results of that testing be kind of unusable considering they'd be tested for the version of the game that has anti-slug and finishing mori mechanics?

Just changes to the speed that you can flashlight click, to stop like spam clicking according to the notes.
