I'd like to propose a new survivor item: The Sledgehammer
A green rarity sledgehammer can break one breakable wall over the course of 7 seconds.
A purple rarity sledgehammer can break two breakable walls over the course of 7 seconds per use.
A red rarity sledgehammer can break 3 breakable walls over the course of 7 seconds per use.
Add-ons could include things such as: faster speed for breaking breakable walls, aura reading for a few seconds after breaking a breakable wall, hide your aura after breaking a breakable wall, reduce grunts of pain after breaking a breakable wall, leave no scratch marks after breaking a breakable wall, reduce the sounds of your footsteps after breaking a breakable wall.
Thoughts?

Why would a survivor ever want to break a wall?

Do gens.

i like this purely because the mental image of like mikaela or kate or whoever just lugging around a sledgehammer is ######### hilarious and i wanna see it added

Some walls when when broken could make a loop stronger eg the one in the schon in Springwood. Or the one in the house of pain also in Springwood I think.
Could also help with some weird deadends eg on the Game

It sounds fun. Gives survivors something to do when they want to goof around.
1 -
Can they hit other survivors with it?
9 -
It's a cute idea, but some loops (mostly Badham) would need a look.
3 -
Seems extremely niche.
At the worst, survivors would be able to troll their team super hard.
1 -
I’m all for this if I could throw it at the bastard that is running to unhook me with the killer on their tail.

Springwood, and The Game. 'Nuff said

Refer to my earlier comment.

This is a silly idea but I loved this so much in F13: The ability to kill other survivors.
Obviously this would have to be another mode, but running over people in F13 was hilarious, imagine a mode where you have to sandbag other teammates with various perks and items, with a very rare sledgehammer item that you could use to murder the useless Meghead crouching in the corner.

I don't like it because outside of a few maps where walls busted help survivors this would hurt the survivor team. Imagine dead dawg saloon and you have a teammate doing some challenge that walls count for and they bust as many as they can with this item or for new players they might get this item and assume it's a great idea to break any walls they see and then get totally burnt/burn a team member due to breaking the wall. This is really BHVRS fault for not knowing what breakable walls should be and creating two variants where some are good for killers and some are good for survivors and the only way to know that is by playing the game a lot.
1 -
No, because there are few things funnier than a survivor jumping through the wrong window in dead dawg and discovering its a trap.
3 -
Because there's some walls that literally can leave you trapped. Like HOP on Badham, can have a breakable wall split in the middle of the top floor.

Why would I want to use it on a door when the killer's knee caps would work even better?
1 -
You missed the part where other people highlighted the same edge case. I could highlight that Badham is an absolutely fantastic survivor map to begin with, but it's not even necessary when the proposed item would essentially require a map offering and would still allow survivors to troll each other more than they could ever hope to use it to improve their odds.
3 -
Can they have a steam train if they just lay down the tracks?
1 -
This is the only contribution in favor of this idea that doesn't make me eye-roll.
1 -
No silly it's Do Bones

Gideon. I still run into that damn dead end with the pallet and breakable wall.
1 -
But apparently, people above think that situation is so niche and rare that we shouldn't have a way around it.
Weren't survivors hating on breakable walls once upon a way because there was no way for them to interreact with them? Because i distinctly remember that
0 -
Probably. Sure it's niche, but tbh I don't see the harm in adding it. Outside of maybe a few loops where the breakable wall actually has value in being there, there's really no downside and it would be more of a QOL change.
Breakable Walls are a cool concept, but because it was their new thing and they wanted to show it off, they just hamfisted them in wherever they could which just made their implementation terrible.

It seems a bit odd, but what about giving the effect as an add-on to a key, for example?
For the green key, allow it to do that only once without the add-on.
... I still suggested it myself, but it is odd.

I'd rather it replace the broken key, and the purple key. Seeing as keys are relatively useless now.
0 -
That sounds like a personal problem.
0 -
It is a personal problem, but it's not like OP is suggesting anything unreasonable. There are so few loops that are actually affected by breakable walls that it would make little to no difference if survivors could break said walls.
0 -
There are far more loops, when the walls are broken, that positively favor the killer than favor the survivor. This item would require a breakable wall rework. So yes, creating a new item that forces a rework is probably the definition of unreasonable.
1 -
It would only force a rework if the issue of survivors trolling their teammates was widespread enough for it to be an issue.
Sure, some loops could positively favor the killer but it's not like killers can't destroy those walls ahead of time. The notion that it's unreasonable because of trolling is unreasonable in and of itself.

Several historical events would beg to differ. The community has proven time and time again that when in-game mechanics provide mechanisms for abuse, abuse will shortly follow. The only difference here is this would be considered self sabotage, so you'll see survivors complaining more than killers.
As an example, I recall many saying the new Boil Over wouldn't be abused, it's only broken on RPD. We all know how that turned out.
2 -
Boil Over was always going to be subject to abuse because you gained an advantage over the killer. This is entirely different.
There is nothing stopping trolls from throwing all the pallets on a map, yet that hasn't forced a pallet rework.
Why would survivors abuse something that benefits the killer? They wouldn't. It just wouldn't make sense.

If survivors want to break the wall, that tells map is broken/extremely poorly designed.
0 -
If you really think survivors don't troll each other when they find unique avenues to do so, then this is where I bow out.
While thanking the the BHVR gods for never implementing this idea, of course.
1 -
A lot of breakable walls open up alot of opportunities for survivors to extend loops
0 -
Don't give me and my friend power like that, we'd never play a proper game again, lol
0 -
That's a problem though, survivors shouldn't be allowed to make nigh infinite on their will.

Do gBeonness
0 -
Eh, there's just as many good killer walls, just gotta figure out what's what
0 -
I'm not saying it would never happen, I'm saying that it would happen on such an infrequent basis that it could hardly be considered a problem.
0 -
As much as I would personally love the idea of the sledgehammer, but THIS herd x100. You can't give such a powerful trolling tool to a community full of bored "I have seen everything this game has to offer " players, as a good portion will just abuse it to its fullest extent.
0 -
Yeah that'd work if killers were the only one who can break walls.
