PUBG Announced a DBD Crossover
Not a leak, for once. An actual, proper announcement.
inb4 DBD just gets a charm again

can it at least be this as a charm?

The hackers have gone too far this time

The guys at Viva la Dirt League must be excited. 🙂

if it's anything like the for honor crossover... lol.
PlayerUnknown as killer when?

If DBD does put out a charm to promote this one too, I desperately hope people can be normal about it this time.
That was some of the most embarrassing stuff I've ever seen, last time.
At the topic- curious to see what it'll be. Maybe I'll reinstall PUBG and give it more of a chance, lol.

I beat DBD Twitter to it >:D

The new item you unlock if a killer is facecamping for too long looks promising
4 -
Do we get to shoot nurse in the face now?
13 -
The way this made me laugh first thing this morning. 🤣

For Honor and now this? Where did the original content go. Feels like dbd is desperate for any kind of licensing deal they can get right now.
7 -
No matter how you look at it, its still new content that benefits both parties. I also wouldn't call it "desperate" as its not like they're on a decline
0 -
I think it's desperate because they are collaborating with unfitting licenses. Both of these are not horror.
4 -
No. :) I will react the same as last time if that's what they do this time.
2 -
Bit of a weird flex, but I suppose I can't stop you.
It'd be a shame, though.

Deathslinger is SEETHING right now

But we already have original characters who don't really have a horror background, and even some licenses as well.
As for the PUBG collab, its likely were getting a charm and they're gonna get some cosmetics. For Honor and DbD last year had a collab because they had an entire halloween event themed around it. The main screen was changed as well as the music, we had a new gamemode which featured the Trapper, executions, cosmetics, and even an event battlepass.
I'm also calling that we're going to get another collaboration here soon but the other way around where this time. A For Honor chapter would absolutely work especially with some of the characters that are in there. Black Prior (Vortiger or Erzebeth), Warmonger (Astrea) or the main antagonist from the story mode, Apollyon. They would be great additions to DbD and while not necessarily horror themed, they would still fall in the same boat as killers like Oni or Deathslinger. Their backstories aren't scary, but them as a whole are what make them frightening and fit to be a killer.

Good point.

Honestly cannot imagine how this would even work since they are completely different genres and themed games... but okay, still interested. Used to love PUBG in the day but ironically cheating ruined it for me personally
1 -
I hope the collab doesn't go further than DbD having a PUBG charm :/
I'd like for actual crossovers for new chapters to remain at least a little bit horror-themed...
Good for PUBG though to have a cool Halloween event I guess :)

Pot twist: PUBG players get DbD skins, DbD gets all the PUBG cheaters. Business as usual.
2 -
If we actually got weapons to use... PEW PEW bichers! 🤪🤪
1 -
So we'll get a machine gun wielding killer next year 🤔

Hey, not my fault that BHVR dropped the ball hard last time. :P
3 -
I'd be curious about how "promoting an event they were involved in" was dropping the ball, personally!
0 -
There was close nothing for the DBD players who don't play For Honor. If this crossover was a celebration of the two games, Dead By Daylight brought the napkins.
2 -
IF, yes.
But, considering it was a For Honor event and not a both-games or DBD event, the charm was simply to promote and commemorate it.
0 -
And that's exactly the problem. It was an event about DBD that DBD players got pretty much nothing out of unless they owned a completely separate game.
3 -
I genuinely don't understand that argument.
Nobody complained about (for example) Resident Evil Village not having any DBD content, nobody said "it's an RE event that RE players get nothing out of unless they own a separate game", so why is the expectation there when it goes the other way?
This game THRIVES on one-way crossovers.
1 -
Resident Evil Village is not a live-service ever-evolving game that is continuously worked on over time. Dead By Daylight is (as is For Honor).
4 -
I absolutely cannot see any angle through which that could possibly matter, so I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree.
0 -
It matters because there's an expectation for live-service games to be able and willing to accommodate such an event (since that's sorta the whole idea behind live-service games to begin with) when the other live-service game that it is collaborating with is able and willing to make the same accommodation itself. Resident Evil Village isn't expected to have seasonal/quarterly/yearly events and expansions to its game in the same way.
4 -
Sure, but I don't see why it should be expected that they must do so every single time it is technically possible.
There's nothing wrong with another game having some DBD stuff in it, there's no reason why DBD must necessarily have a proportionate amount of content at the exact same time. Like, I get wanting it, but there's this weird transposition happening where people put their expectation of what should happen onto what is happening, which is how you get to the For Honor charm somehow being insulting or "dropping the ball" when its purpose was very clearly not to fill that role to begin with.
0 -
I think it should be expected that both sides are pulling their weight for their respective games' player bases. Not doing so to me comes off as not really caring as to whether your player base feels like it's missing out. That's dropping the ball to me.
3 -
Thanks for the laugh!

Someone isn't a knower, huh?
0 -
yay more non horror collaborations, just what we needed
as long as this doesn't intrude into dbd itself a lot i don't care, skins/charms are whatever but i do still think it's dumb. attack on titan kind of made sense, the for honor collab didn't/doesn't and neither does this. as long as there are no actual characters introduced i guess it doesn't matter a whole lot.
4 -
And if there would be no collab with For Honor (or PUBG), DBD-players would also not get anything out of it.
It was once again embarrassing to see how the DBD-Community reacted.
0 -
Er, duh? And as a result, no one is going to get upset that they didn't get anything out of a non-existent collaboration.
4 -
I feel like Sakura as well should be on that list
1 -
Cool I guess? Kinda feels like they keep moving away from horror and instead of being "horror hall of fame" are heading towards "anyone we can collaborate with, doesn't matter the genre, hall of fame."
2 -
Should that badge apply to crossovers that go the other way? I kinda feel like it's okay to move away from horror licenses if those licenses aren't coming into DBD, but rather DBD is going into those licenses.
They're still a horror hall of fame if, say, Trapper goes and hangs out somewhere else for a bit.

I can't answer this because leaks aren't allowed on the forums.

I mean any of the Harbingers would be great! They all have some sort of abilities as well that could be played around with. Sun Da (or Zhanhu) could have some sort of ability relating to fire, which surprisingly enough we don't have a killer that plays around with fire yet.

I don't really care that PUBG isn't horror, but it's not a very good game. I haven't played in a while but when I did it was really ugly and buggy. At times unplayable due to the FPS hitting 5-10. Overall I had fun for 2-3 months so I didn't hate the game or anything but tbh it feels beneath DBD. I think a crossover with Apex Legends would be cooler. There's some really cool outfits I'd love to see.
