What does the DBD community think about Mount Ormond Resort?

I recently came up with that question, for me. I think it can be a tough map sometimes. Specially for killers. But overall i find it a pretty good map with some issues. What do you all think and if you guys can point out some of the major issues in the map. I will be reading. Thanks.

Agreed. I also think the tiles sometimes are pretty strong for the survivors. And some filler pallets around them as well.

I love the map as a survivor, have a much higher survive rate on it. As killer it can be a pain sometimes when going against good survivors but still fun to play.

So bright it hurts my eyes, specially in the dream world.

it's a fun map to play on for both sides and it's beautiful.

minor issues here and there like breakable walls in the main building but overall ok.

Ormond and Eyrie are pretty similar, they’re the same exact median map size with a strong two story building in the center with ramps overlooking a lower first floor area and a bright outdoors. My guess off hand is kill rates on the two maps are probably about the same but that’s just a guess. 🤷‍♂️ I think they’re maybe slightly survivor sided but not as much as some people claim.

I don’t mind it that much as killer. I’ll take it all day long over any of the indoor maps

The only time I'm sad about getting Ormond is if I'm trying to do a stealth build. Seriously sneaking around on that map just does not work.

Other than that I have no complaints.

    Don't like bright maps.

I enjoy it, both as killer and surv. The centre building particularly is a lot of fun for chases. Also makes a nice change from all the dark dreary maps while still retaining a creepy atmosphere. Abandoned, isolated and dilapidated.

Gameplay wise it's much more bearable. I just hate how barren and lifeless it seems aesthetically. I wish there was more to it's visual design.

I don't know why but I have a soft spot for it.

Honestly as far as maps on the bigger side go, Ormond is my favorite as a killer.

It feels like gens pop before I can get anywhere, but other than that I don't mind it too much.

Ormond gives me the Homefield Advantage when I play Legion cuz I'm Canadian and I have a soft spot for the cold so it's cozy for me!

I just wish I got to experience OG Ormond's atmosphere.

Fun fact: There is no Ormond, Alberta. But there is an Ormond, Ontario!

It's pretty good. I'm happy to load into it on both sides, though I'm not a fan of bright maps in general. My only issue is that its totem spots are terrible and it's a bad map for both hexes and boons.

    i want more snowy maps

It's a survivor sided map because of the gen split. But definitely one of my favorites to play on for the slippery collision, survivors typically have no idea what going on in the table/snow pile area vs blight.

I like it on both roles. A bit hard playing Ghostie on it, but the mood it great and I like the resort.

While the gen spread can be a little unforgiving sometimes (as killer), I enjoy the map overall. I'd say it's one of my favourites.

Terrible for M1-Killers without a teleport like Pig, Trapper or Clown, mostly no 3-Gen, a lot of strong pallets.

As killer, I dont like it.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the map?

Idk anymore man, but the map just feels so... hollow?

I think it is one of the more balanced maps in the game now.

My only change would be to disallow long-wall jungle gyms from spawning, because the map hands survivors 4 strong pallets by default (2 Main, 1 Tractor, and 1 Shack).

The map really only feels survivor sided when they are given all the best jungle gyms.

I'd prefer more LOS blockers, because killers have way too easy a time proxy camping and hook-trading on Ormond, but I don't feel that is an essential change.

Garbage map. Crazy gen spread, breakable walls, loops you can't even Bloodlust through, god pallets, and easily one of the most abusable maps for Boil Over.

I absolutely hate Ormand. I hate loading in with lethal and seeing all 4 survivors on different gens knowing there's zero chance of being able to play fair and win against any half decent team. So many safe pallets, so many good loops, main building is nuts, kill shack is always connected to a very strong loop with a ton of filler pallets. It's a miserable map.

Better then it used to be but still pretty bad.

    better than eyrie

A map with annoying gen spread, bad blight collision and a chain of tiles together. There are worse maps for sure, like its main building is nowhere near the strength of the asylum main building, but still a map which like many others could use some tweaking.

I can't ever tell if it's the realm that bothers me, or the map redesigns. Because all the new maps seem to have too much or too little. The only old map left, I think, is red forest and you can tell - still lots of pallets, though. If I were to find something bad about ormond, it would be how hard it is to see auras.
