DC question again

Hi guys,

i was reading this forum for a while, yet I don't remember if my idea was mentioned by anybody and what was the reaction, so I will just ask you.

About DC's - for me and my level of MMR it's one of the biggest issues in this game (soloQ surv here). I'm trying to do my best, yet sometimes there can't be much done bc some crazy Nea (srsly, for me it's mostly Nea's) just DC in like first 3 minutes in the game. Why we can't just increase the penalty for DC's to increase gradually (and much) when someone just do it too much?

"But hey, what about cheaters?"

I seen them, I know they can take the game hostage, but as far as I seen - it mostly happens for killers. What about keeping DC penalty for killers low at all time? I'm watching DBD on twitch, why not keep the penalty for killer DC to, like, 5 minutes max? If there's surv taking game hostage for killer AND survs too, killers DC ends the game. Cheaters will not take the game hostage, killer will quickly join another game, survs can go another game too. Was it mentioned before?

Honestly, it makes sense to give killers a lower penalty for DCIng than survivors, for the reason you mention. A killer DCing isn't sabotaging a game, it's ending the game, and allowing everyone to just straight back into a new one.

Alternatively, just make it so one survivor DCing ends the game as well. There's literally no good scenario where a survivor DCs.

For this alternative - i wouldn't do it, my honest opinion. There's always a chance, you can still do some points a surv or even just try to do something, train loops for example. That will just straight kick everyone from the game, even if the game can still be good (maybe at my level, can't tell for rank 1 tho).

Controversial take: players shouldn't get a penalty past 10 minutes in the match.

Controversial, yet can be kind of defended tho. Sometimes people just play to hide in the corner and wait till everybody else dies, or just don't do anything to push the game forward, so doing solo all the things can be frustrating, especially soloQ.

Until they can get on top of cheating and provide much more regular protection (which they've promised to do thankfully) then I'd rather see the penalty axed entirely than increase more.

And cheaters can hold Survivors hostage too, you know? It's not exclusive to killer players

They can, but if they take game hostage to survs, then take the game hostage for killer too. Killer DC, boom, game ends, cheater got nothing. Now only cheaters win in that situation. They take a game and gifts DC bonuses to everyone who do this before killer, while 1 killer DC takes it all away. EDIT and that's why i think killer DC should be less penalized, much less.
