Ways to increase overall morale of the game!
Hey fellow fog peeps!
Ive only been playing DBD for about 2 years but Ive noticed lately there seems to be a downward shift of overall morale for the game. Ive been racking my brain trying to get ideas on how to change this.
One idea I had was for players to have the ability to gift shards to eachother after the game. Instead(or in addtion to) of the tradtional thumbs up, I thought it would be interesting to nice to have the ability to actually reward eachother for a good game. Especially for console players like myself who do not have a end game chat ability. Just imagine you had a fantastic random survivor who saved you multiple times or took hits. Or a killer who made the game absolutely intense with stellar use of their abilities. Or maybe even as a consolation prize for a survivor who got camped in game or a killer you bullied with flashlights.
overall, I feel like having the ability to give eachother little rewards would genuinely improve the mood of all players in the game. Make you feel as if your part of the match was valued.
what do you guys think? What other ideas do you have?❤️

I genuinely do not think anything can save this community.
Toxicity has been ingrained in us since the very beginning.

I would never give away shards to anyone, they are way too valuable to give to people that i will likely never interact with.

Being nice and having fun is not allowed in this video game.

...just to try and spite the negative here...
Make the thumbs up button give extra bp or shards would help Abit both for moral and newer players.

Love this!

Fair enough but how about to friends you play with? And also, would you like to receive shards for recognition of your gameplay?

Im hoping to change that. I think there are enough of us in here who would love to spread positive vibes!

Lmao missed that memo😂

I love that idea :)
I love having nice and fun postgame chats with my opponents and I'd love to be able to reward them or send them a small gift after a game well played !

That is a really good starting point for something that could have a positive impact on a large portion of the community!
Good on you for trying to come up with a solution!

I love this idea! I'd totally use it. I think being able to give bloodpoints would be nice as well. Different players may not care about their stocks of one of these things and want to give them out, while wanting to maintain the other.
As others have said, I'd like if the thumbs up button did something positive for that player, on the caveat that you can't thumbs up people you queued with. Getting thumbs ups could reward small amounts of bloodpoints or shards, or getting very large amounts of thumbs ups could unlock charms or cosmetics. Possibly there could even be unique rewards for getting rated up as both survivor and killer so that survivors don't inherently have an advantage to in-game like collection.

Could be something simple like a visible icon showing you've reached a certain benchmark of positive comments in games with other players. I do like the idea of players gifting BP, shards, or cells to others as it would be player driven. I'm always a fan of player driven mechanics and with this intending to reward and bring positivity to the community it makes it even better.

Thank you! I know there are probably so many good ideas out there! I cant wait to see them

I like this. Currently the thumbs up button does nothing for the community because the person you thumbs up never even knows you've done it.
Make that award blood or shards to the player and you've got an enormous change to the way this community interacts. It needs to be visible on the end card though.
GOOD IDEA!

I don't know which game had that but giving praise to a player would announce that to said player and give them rewards depending on what kind of praise they got (helpful, skilled, selfless, etc).
A system like that would be great. Give 500 BP for a regular praise and 100 Iri shards (make them cost 10 to the praiser) as a larger reward.

Make the thumbs up do anything other than what it currently does would be net worth.

I would love that. Sometimes even after rough matches you have a genuinely nice interaction with the survivors and killer in EGC. It's too bad that there really is no benefit in being nice other than being nice. I feel this might also encourage a small portion of people not to be a d*ck. It would have to account for SWFs though since it wouldn't really be fair if 4 people played together all the time being absolutely horrible sports to the killer and still getting the reward for being nice.
