Survivors only say gg when they win?
I was playing Clown and there was a lot of ggs, especially when I got 0k. I switch to Plague then 4k 20 matches in a row and not a single gg. Very strange.

I say gg when I lose.

Same.

It's an ego boost for them. Nothing more nothing less. I mean where else are they gonna feel good about themselves aside from in a video game.

tbf, unless they were playing with their friends. There's little reason to stay in the end game screen and not just requeue when solo.

Currently on a dying streak and have said gg (admittedly after) each time. That said, alot of the players are [beeps] so...ya know..kinda expected. There was a whole post about it too~

But even when there are 2-3 players left, they don't say gg.

One thing with survivors is that only escaped survivors or the last one to die are likely to be in the chat (unless it's a SWF.) Ones who died earlier have probably already moved on, so they're often not around to say anything. Contrast to escaped survivors and the killer, who are always there for at least a second.
Anyway, I always say GG unless it was a pretty awful game, in which case I just leave.

I say it when I lose too

I don't think that's a "survivor only" type of thing.
13 -
Killers say gg when they win too. Usually it’s that toxic patronizing gg
4 -
Win or lose I hardly say gg unless killer says it first just out of respect. I'm just not crazy about the term.

Or they just said gg and moved on.

I said gg after every game but they didn't say gg. For Clown, it was the opposite. The moment the game ends with me losing, all survivors say gg.
Why only when they win though?

I'm on a console so there is almost no chat about results, only very rare in DMs. (Most of them are a bit of a terrible rant lol).
But it is nice to get a message from a gentleman player who explains what kind of playing is GG, not just saying GG.
"That gap attack is awesome!"
"That good feint fooled me!
"I didn't think there was a trap in that spot!"
Whether it's a survivor or a killer, when a GG comes along with a sentence like these, it makes me feel a little better, even if I lost.
I wish it were more like that, but most of the time the accompanying sentence is "EEEEEZZZZZZZZZ", "Camping and tunneling is forbidden by law", "You are out of manners and I reported you", or "Quit the game". A bit sad.

I try to say GG even if I don't think it was or if I don't really mean it.
Helps me control my temper and reminds me there's another person on the other side of the connection.

Killers do the same. No gg if even just 1 guy outplayed endgame and escaped. But oh boy how fast they can type gg wp when they rofl stomp solo Q teams at 4 gens left.

Funnily enough I just lost as survivor and said gg lol.

I don't say gg after a game, only if someone does something nice/funny. I am console players btw.

It's weird, isn't it? I try to say GGs as losing Killer and Survivor unless it was like a really awful Killer or the Survivors brought 4 BNPs and stealthed the whole game.

That's not survivor exclusive, it's general thing and a reason for the other "GG wp" discussion 2 or 3 days ago.
It's the same in probably all other pvp online video games.
I know it for sure from DBD, lol, rocket league, r6s, ow and a few others, that in the overwhelming majority of the time only the winning side gives GG.
I have to admit i would be the same, after a loss i am just not in the mood for a GG most of the time, except it was a really close and fun experience. That's i made it my habit to just say nothing and move if the other side doesn't write anything to answer to.

I say gg when the game was fun for me.
As a killer, I'll say it almost exclusively when I win, but I'll sometimes say it after a loss if the game was thrilling and the survivors didn't seem obnoxious. I'll also say it if a survivor says it to me and it doesn't come off as mocking.
I don't take survivor nearly as seriously, so I'll say it frequently, even if I lose.

As survivor, I say gg or compliments if I feel like the killer played fair and I enjoyed the game, regardless of if I lived or died.
In case of 0k, I prefer checking on the killer over saying gg.

Actually... I didn't even noticed, but I stopped saying "gg" at the end like... At all.
I forgot when was the last time I actually spelled gg at the end chat. xD
Overall, it's not that serious to me, it's just 2 letters...

I always say "GGs <3" regardless if I win or not, it's just good manners.

This.
this topic didn’t need to be another killers vs. survivors topic.
this is a common thing not even tied to DbD but online gaming in general.

I'd say the rather restrictive way end chat works plays a role in this too.
You see, anyone that dies and therefore leaves the game earlier than others can not leave a message behind for them, anything they put in the chat will be invisible to others that joined at a later point in time.
And since most people don't want to just sit around and wait for the game to conclude just to write a message, they move onto the next game and you won't get a "GG" from them as a result.
If you play very badly and get a 0k, that means you have 4 players in the chat together with you when the game finishes, meaning you automatically have much better chances to get a "GG" from someone there, whereas a 4k might leave you with only 1 or 2 players that are still with you.

I say "gg [killer]" when I feel like my solo q team deserved losing.
1 -
If I say something it’s usually “gg” and also something more specific like “that was close” or “too bad the Meg quit” or whatever.
But really, I don’t get why people take it as an insult when someone says gg. If you’re feeling insulted by someone saying the game was good that says more about you than them.

I say gg when I had fun, regardless of the result
Otherwise I just leave

Killers do the same thing, not just survivors. Also, I say gg when I win or lose.
2 -
I only say GG when i really mean it. In these cases it doesn't matter if i lost or won.
But yeah, most survs only say GG when they escaped. Def more killers say GG when they just got 0, 1 or 2 kills.
0 -
I mean that's a thing quite a few people in general do. Seems like it's getting more and more rare to see gg from both killers and survivors honestly.
And do also keep in mind that the survivor(s) that died earlier in the match might very well not even be there in the chat at the end, especially if they died early. Hard to say gg when you're already in another match.
1 -
Survivors say gg?
0 -
You don't typically say gg in the middle of a match, and the killer doesn't have access to chat until the end of the match if on PC, I'm not sure if it would save the comment, but it might just discard it
2 -
Survivors who die before the EGC have no reason to stay around until the game ends unless they are SWF, most of them will just jump into the next game so when you end up winning a game usually its just you and the last guy on postgame chat, people who are not in the postgame screen cant write gg or anything else.
On the other hand when all 4 escape they usually do it at the same time so all 4 are in postgame chat and can chat among themselves.
It discards it, not only if you write gg in the middle nobody will read it but if 2 people die at the mid of the game and one goes to Espectate he wont read anything the other person writes. The system is THAT bad.

Or it's a request from me trying to get one of my friends killed, happened last night with a Bubba, my friend screwed over my other friend my slamming a pallet down before he was clear through the pallet, and my other friend was stuck on the side with Bubba, lol

You say that like it's a survivor thing. I can't remember a killer saying "gg" when they lost
4 -
Nah, thats only the case when the other side is doing it. When I SAY gg after I crushed the other side, I just mean well and when them to be part of this great moment.

Gotta keep in mind, not everyone stays to watch how the match ends and say "gg". Especially solo Q players.
1 -
It's kind of hard to say ggwp when they start to lose and they face camp and tunnel. Or you just looped him so they tunnel. Or they just face camp and tunnel because that's how they play. Kind of how 8/10 times the game goes when I play. Also majority of my games are with console players so there's no chat going on.

i stopped saying gg because most of the time, it's taken as an insult. if the killer says gg and i think it was a good game i respond with gg.
0 -
I dont stay to say gg if I die early. Why spectate people I dont know? It infuriates me more than I learn something new.
I couldn watch the killer farm with the last 2 survivors after hardcore tunneling, can watch the killer give the worst player the hatch etc. but I'd rather requeue.

LMAO, yes.

Also dont forget that when Survivor are playing against a weaker Killer like Pig they just teabagging and clicking for there Ego Boost but then when the same Survivor are playing against 6 Nurse and Blights in a Row they are Mad and doesnt teabagg

I say 'GG' when it's been a good game, win or lose.
I don't say GG on a blowout, I'll probably say something like 'well tried' or 'that game was cursed'.
1 -
Me usually say gg when it was really good game, no matter win or lose, killer or survivor. Also i always say "well played" to people who really played well (mostly to killers), if they didn't act toxic
0 -
Who says all survivors say gg when they win? Let alone say gg at all. I don't because i just don't care. It's rlly not that serious.
1 -
I say gg all the time if I loose unless it's a console player cause I know they won't see it.

"NOOOOOO you can't just leave match after you died you supposed to stay on the post-match screen and wait to congratulate my glorious 4k winstreakerino"
That level of entitlement is crazy
