Why doesn't dbd prioritize Final Girls
Sally/Erin Hardesty Sidney Prescott Gale Weathers Nancy Thompson Kirsty Cotton Reiko Asakawa all have their respective counterparts in game why don't we have them has Cote ever specified the lack of the female counterparts it seems odd to not have them Iconic franchises aren't Iconic without the protagonists same goes for dbd half an Icon doesn't make an Iconic chapter

Because if we had a "final girl" for every chapter; a. we'd basically have all women because horror loves final girls, and b. they'd all be pretty much the same character. I'm pretty sure the reason they stayed away from it since Laurie is because all the final girls last til the end, fight back, and are the killer's obsession. They want more unique characters than a full cast of the same trope.

We don’t have Scream at all, just Ghostface as an original killer with a known/licensed mask.
otherwise, it’s probably more the decision from the license holders. I am pretty sure I have read somewhere that the Nightmare on Freddy license holder was very persistent on the reboot version and having Quentin over Nancy.

Would probably be due to lisencing. Believe it or not some people own their face and would also need to be paid.
Theres alot of things from who owns what, the cost of it as well as if there are multiple films which film they're getting the liscene for etc.
Alot of horror films change owner at some point making it more difficult to get certain people involved.

Sidney Prescott because DBD didn't get the licence to Scream, but to the Ghost Face Mask. Same reasoning for Gale.
Nancy was because Wes Craven Estate didn't want to licence ANOES so they went through Fun World, using their version of Freddy and their character Quentin Smith.
Hellraiser was licenced through Park Avenue (hence the NFTs) and not Clyve Barker, so they couldn't licence Kirsty, only Pinhead.
Reiko wasn't chosen due to an inability to get the actress' likeness, so they instead chose Yoichi.

I know this is super late but I've noticed and been thinking about this too, it's the reason I think if a Candyman chapter ever happened we wouldn't get Helen Lyle, but rather Anne-Marie

ITs all legal stuff. I guarntee if they could have gotten all those characters they would have, but we got 2 final girls in Laurie Strode and Cheryl Mason

idk... probably because there are already enough girls (18) and adding more of them aren't on BHVR priorities right now
