Can the game just be killswitched altogether on Epic Games Store?
Has anything positive ever came from it being available on that platform?
Not only 90% of hackers use it, now I gotta deal with homophobes too.
They facecamped me while pointing his gun at my LGBT charms and then said this.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(Yes I reported them in end game).

Piece of #########. Hope you're okay.

Isn't it free on EPS? What are BHVR even getting out of the deal?
1 -
Don't think everything come from the free game on the epic store as bad as that
Without it, I would never have known the game and played it
Since then, I am very well with my little multicolored bird

I think we're all pretty sure that's not going to happen. Bad manners and trolls will always exist in DBD, even without the Epic Store. You can't do more than report.
1 -
Damn what an #########. Sadly I use epic games store but if it means people like this take the plunge by all means get rid of it
1 -
Im sorry for the bad experience, but come on this aint it chief
4 -
deleting EGS is defo it,chief
1 -
I know for a fact a lot of hackers made a bunch of accounts on the egs
2 -
Yup, removing EGS will totally rid of all hackers and homophobes in the community!
3 -
No, because chances are there are a good few people who have money invested into the game on Epic and are perfectly fine.
It's unfortunate that you ran into a nasty bugger, but aside from reporting them there isn't much you can do. Chances are that they are 13 and think they are being amazingly witty.

Going onto EGS was the single worst choice BHVR has made with this game save maybe the Pinhead NFT stuff. A lot of people said you would see a massive increase in cheaters if you made the game free and look what happened.
2 -
it would get rid of 95% of hackers
2 -
Let us block egs when enabling crossplay.
3 -
Wasn't the NFT thing just gossip?
Most of the hackers I run into are on Steam.
0 -
nft was not gossip
EGS is the primary hacking platform with practically unlimited accounts for them. it would significantly cut down on the little children who cant afford constantly buying expensive new accounts
3 -
No it was going to be a thing and DBD assets were going to be able to be used as NFTs by boss protocol but the backlash was so strong it got scrapped. Clive Barker also got the rights to Hellraiser back soon after but idk if that actually had anything to do with it.
1 -
I wish that would work, and consolers like me also want to limit CrossPlay to just the consoles, but neither move would keep hackers out. Sadly they still can and do work their way in to all platforms.
3 -
Scum, pure and simple. Apologies for having to put up with such crap. It's so easy to paint all Epic gamers with the same hacker paint brush, as no doubt the free aspect opened the door for near-unlimited accounts to abuse with. But isn't fair to the honest users, a few of which have commented here.
Reporting was the best thing to do glad ya did.

I happen to have claimed the game when it was free on Epic Games and that's how I play. Sorry this happened to you, but not all of us are bad. Some of us are legit.
1 -
I mean, ######### homophobes and salt the ######### earth after the banhammer of justice comes down on their hateful asses, but that's not a platform issue, that's a player issue.
The endless burner accounts from that hilariously misconstrued free release are a platform issue.
3 -
you mean you wish it would get rid of 95% of hackers?
1 -
Money, the Epic Vs Apple lawsuit showed Epic gives the developers a sum of money in exchange for licenses which then they give out for free. Every time they put DBD free to grab its because BHVR got paid beforehand by Epic.
0 -
No,I dont. I'm saying it would get rid of 95% of them.
1 -
Really wouldnt
keep coping
3 -
It honestly would. Atm they only need to pay for the hacks and even if they get banned they can just use another epic account. If instead they had to buy the game again and again it would dissuade a lot of people
4 -
Exactly. It's INFINITELY cheaper to cheat right now SOLELY due to EGS.
3 -
Really would tho. Most of the hackers I’ve came across are from Epic, and we all know how they’re able to have so many accounts even after getting plenty of them banned.
Just the other week a Epic Games hacker was streaming and was already banned 9 times JUST during that stream.
2 -
I think what people are forgetting is that we were having a big cheating surge before Epic Games Store, and that was a big part of why everyone was going "oh god no stop" when they announced the EGS promotion.
Personally, all but one of the cheaters I've seen were on Steam. Banning EGS isn't a solution because there's plenty of ordinary users on that platform who don't deserve to get the axe.
1 -
Not only that. I am pretty sure that gas prices will go down again and inflation in general will be decent once they get rid of EGS.
3 -
Mayhaps
0 -
######### maybe PC parts might be a bit cheaper too...
yeah ######### it. get rid of EGS

I see a bit of confusion in this post, so as a daily Epic Games Store user I'll clear things out. Dead by Daylight WAS free to play ONLY during 1 week in December 2021. If you got a copy for free it was ONLY during that week to keep forever. It's not free anymore, you have to pay now in order to get it.
Another thing I see is "killswitch Epic users". There are many players (like me) who spent money in the game to get maybe some licensed killers, rift, outfits and so on. What about those people?
0 -
It’s called a vent. It’s obviously they aren’t going to killswitch it there, I just think making that 1 week free was a big mistake. Nothing to do now tho, hackers have thousands of free accounts to use, kids got it and didn’t need their parents card to get it so they’re free to be homophobic on it.
1 -
Yeah they needed to think twice before making this deal. I agree
0 -
Same thing happened with GTA V online.
0 -
Oh man, I'm also an active GTA online player and I remember very well what happened for 2 weeks to the game when it went free on Epic. Couldn't play for 2 weeks and now it's a modder every day. Let's try not to derail the discussion tho.

Kind of like how Steam just needs to family share to basically have infinite accounts?
You do realize that cheaters were already rising before DbD was added to EGS. If they were to remove it from EGS all that would happen is they would simply move back to Steam. Even if they were to fix the family share thing people could still buy the game for as low as 3$ thanks to key resellers, and trust me there are people who have way more than 3$ to spare who are ready to ruin multiple peoples days
It really aint as simple as "egs gone problem gone"
0 -
Damn i could have gotten the game for 3?
0 -
Is the game still free on Epic Games? I thought that was just for the first two weeks. Granted, that's enough time for very determined cheaters to stock up on accounts, but still...
0 -
I remember seeing it go as low as that yeah
hell just recently I almost spent like 40$+ on MKX Ultimate, thought it wasnt worth it and then checked on Kinguin and saw it was just over 4$
i snatched it for a 1/10 of the price
0 -
I think they'll be able to survive the sight of two words on a video game chat.
0 -
Family share doesn’t work if one of the accounts get banned.
0 -
Oh it does not offend me, I just found it idiotic that someone’s identity made them act like that.

there's two words I'd put on your screen as well but I'm on my third strike 😉
