Aand...I'm disappointed
Literally no perk balance updates or anything interesting this mid chapter. Nothing and we won't get any balance updates till the next mid chapter?
This ain't funny. Don't tell me you need the same devs to work on the crappy Mori system as the ones who can buff garbage perks like current DS and Smash Hit/Oppression.
This game is in such sad state right now,I swear..

It’s really not in that bad of a state lol.
Some of y’all are so dramatic.

I think they still are traumatized by all the flak they got for their balance update back in January. They now are being very conservative when it comes to changing killer stuff.
1 -
To be fair, after the PTB you shouldn’t have expected any more for this midchapter..
6 -
I heard some devs on twitter say "these are only the patch notes for the PTB" so I was hard copium for at least some minor balance updates.
At least I heard the FPS should actually go up a fair bit with the optimizations done to sound/anims

It's not like this is a surprise. The only thing different from the PTB (excluding the Finishing Mori and basekit Unbreakable the devs were clear wouldn't be here) is the Hag having new music, and I honestly wonder if it was there and no one noticed because they never played Hag.
2 -
Well let’s hope at least that is true!

Surely this is to be expected if they allocate resources to testing experimental changes that don't make it into the midchapter?

The PTB gives a very good overlay of what will be in the mid chapter patch (or any patch) and we made it pretty clear that this was a slightly different PTB in that the content wouldn't be going live immediately afterwards as we needed to get early feedback on it before anything was final.
Unfortunately, yes this does mean that there's very little in the way of balance changes in this update but there's a large amount of bug fixes, Event content etc so there's actually a lot in the patch.

That's great and all but as someone who was looking forward to at least some light changes I'm pretty bummed out. This game's been getting pretty stale lately and I would like more balance changes.
1 -
the game has changed more in this year alone than it has in the past 5...what are you talking about.
6 -
We just had a huge perk overhaul in the last mid chapter so I didn’t expect anything big in this update. Not every update has to have balance changes.

Still no fix for the bottle bug though... Is the team working on it, even? I'm sick and tired of throwing a yellow bottle at my feet only to see it turning into purple smoke.

It makes you look like a clown, which is pretty lore accurate. Consider it a feature.
3 -
I figure there's no point changing perks if they're going to go ahead with a huge change like the finishing mori, since that's going to mess with the current meta pretty severely if it goes live in the near future.

I'd vastly prefer "nothing" over a patch that redoes maps no one asked to have redone, or that changes perks that were fine, or nerfs killer add ons "just because."

And we made it clear that its disappointing.
And it still is disappointing.
Cant wait to get tunneled, camped in that solo q state in the event! <3
Dont forget to mention that they pushed a patch trough which should give prestige levels, normal levels etc back who lost them. But actually it doesnt work.
The sassy responses on the forum by our "community manager" doesnt make it better. Sad.

For the worst, maybe. I've had the least fun I've ever had with DBD in my 3K hours post 6.1.0.

50+ bug fixes, qol update for the archive and a reduction in risk to seisures
Dissapointing....
This community i swear
People like you are the reason they will never skip a chapter for game health
7 -
I'm sorry are the balance teams working on the bug fixes?
1 -
Game designers worked on the Finisher Mori though as it's directly related to game design.
As well as gameplay programmers, animators, level design etc.
6 -
BHVRs quote they live by "Just consider it a feature" lol

Genuinely, how difficult is it for you to add a bunch of numbers tweaks to the most used/least used perks every few hotfixes? Does that need 400 devs?
1 -
Like you've said it yourselves before that numbers tweaks are simple. Why cant we get a bunch of those pretty often? If anything proves problematic you can quickly nerf it.
0 -
What i'm hearing is that you want to throw the overal balance of the game out of the window as any long term data will be completely useless with perks that get changed every week
Killer had 85% killrate this week cause perk x was problematic, dropped to 35% the week after cause survivor perk y was overtuned. Overal 55% so balanced right?
You have no idea what you are talking about
1 -
Ah yes. Buffing something like Wake Up or Fire up will make all statistics meaningless. God you have no clue what you're talking about.
1 -
That is not how putting changes into a live system works. They need to do internal playtesting with the changed values to make sure they can't find any oversights, then they usually go to the PTB so that the community can abuse said oversights that get missed. Numbers adjustments are certainly less direct work than things like reworks or overhauls, but they aren't just something you type at lunch and push it to live by the end of the day.

Yeah supposedly that's how you'd do it..but judging from the state BHVR has released things in...if they really do skip that process..will it be any different?

The only thing I'm disappointed at is how buggy this patch is as per usual
0 -
I am enjoying Pale Rose being a boil over infinite!

I thought for sure with killers getting another buff in the next unbreakable patch release. That we would at least see some quick soloQ survivor buffs or at least just survivor buffs in general. I guess I won't be playing again in a very very long time, feels bad.
