What was the point of nerf Pain Resonance
Seriously they remove the whole scream thing because more then likely DMS would constantly go with it and not even a month later they just put the scream back in so what was the point in the first place to do it.

Just get out of the gen when the killer is hooking, its not hard

Screams do occur, but it is no longer highlighted from the killer's perspective which generator caused the screams. That is the point.

the original nerf was to remove the locating and stop it from working with dms. it doesnt do the locating, but apparently merciless storm pain res combo was so ridiculously op that they added back synergy with dms (20 seconds thats avoidable if you hit skillchecks that can only be extended IF killer hooks someone on a scourge once you reach 90% progress on a gen is stronger than guaranteed 30 seconds if you dont let go)

I'm pretty sure Jolt works with merciless storm too so they didn't even really solve the problem. Sheesh.

The point of the nerf was to make less people use it because too many people were using it. That's it.
No consideration for the effects of the perk on the game, or the fact that the info it gave the killer promoted healthy gameplay in disincentivising camping.

SC was gone? Still the number 1 most used survivor perk.

Because it's a crutch perk for solo/newbie survivors. It was never meta because it was good, it was meta because it was necessary.
Even the figures BHVR shared showed that it was disproportionately used at lower MMR brackets.
All the nerf did was force those people to run Botany Knowledge as well, costing them a perk slot and making them even weaker.

Best part: it forces you to "fail" Merciless Storm as well since you let go of the gen 🤷🏻♂️

Nothing more motivating than having We´ll make it and the teammate runs away to SC in the corner on the map, while being affected by Sloppy.

When the Circle of Healing you've set up 7 minutes ago that still hasn't been snuffed is literally a 3 second walk away and they still decide to just Self-Care on the spot :)

Self Care is apparently super popular in Asia, but I’m not sure that the perk is actually still literally the most used perk, the dev stats that had it in the top 3 included a period where there was an active tome challenge to play as survivor using only Self Care and nothing else which I think spiked its numbers that month. On Nightlight it’s around the #12 top perk or so, which is probably close to where it stands outside Asia since that site is mostly users in English speaking countries. So popular but maybe not top five. 🤷♂️

They readded the effect you get off the gen with PR because of Call of Brine where on the rare occasion someone would get 40+ skill checks because PR would proc on that gen when it was above 90%

Still a dumb way to address the issue though. Pain Resonance (not Brine) isn't the only perk that can extend Merciless Storm, Jolt still does it on live right now. They should have changed Merciless directly and either added a cap to number of skill checks or time it's active. That deals with all perks interactions.

For a few seconds, I lived in a world where Self Care did not exist and wondered what the problem was with Spine Chill being the 1 most used survivor perk.
