Iridescent head change
Change this addon to replenish hatchets over time. Just not the instadowns. When it lands, there's no chase or interaction between killer and survivor. Killer shouldn't have an ability to instadown from the moment they spawn on the map.

Except they don't throw their chainsaws at you, they have to be there to down you and hatchet wind up is quite faster than chainsaw charge. So while they do have instadown, it's a lot different from hatchets

pre iri head nerf people suggested it be like slingers iri where you need to hit the hatchet over a certain range (i think 15m was the most popular idea) to get the insta down, and the hatchet count be untouched, so it was an addon that needed skill to get value. i think they should make it more like that

Tbh I thought they'd remove instadown from it when they changed her addons. I took a break from the game around the time they first mentioned addon pass for her, so I was a bit surprised that instadown was still there when I came back to it

"If they miss" is not a valid argument here. It's like saying nurse is the weakest killer in the game if you miss your blinks.

If you can't land killer's power it doesn't make them weak, it makes you bad at the killer you're playing. Should we start balancing all the killers around beginner level?

As a prerequisite for a killer to fight a survivor properly, it is important to succeed in M2 with almost no mistakes.
Killer add-on designs can be as diverse as pure enhancements, additional effects, slowdowns, increased success rates, and reduced penalties for failure.
Huntress is a killer that is predicated on hitting the hatchet; iri head or no iri head, if the hatchet doesn't hit the target, the game is not even close.
Therefore, iri head or no iri head, you need to hit the hatchet without wasting time in order to play the huntress.
In such a situation, if a huntress with the skill to hit the hatchet without wasting time is equipped with an iri head, that is, of course, strong.
I don't think that having the ability to instant down from the start of the game itself is a very big problem.
However, and this was discussed during the Huntress add-on rework, I do think that the iri head should be made to require more skill.
For example, something like instead of having two instead of one, you would have to be at least X meters away to instandown. Like a death slinger.
But she is 4.4 m/s and the map has an effect, so it's hard to determine what form is the best one.

That but that if your hatchet hits that far and does double damage you have to reload, regardless of how many hatchets you had.

But it does.... it means that I need more time on that Killer to get used to the power... A 2000 hour Nurse main will do better then a new player using Nurse for the first time... but in the end it still counts
Also do you think players will admit that they suck using a specific Killer? Or will they say "Oh that Killer is trash"?
No... I didn't say that... What I'm say is landing a Killer's power is skill... Either muscle memory (Nurse) or a reaction (Huntress)
But newer players do need to be separated from the rest of us... maybe put a hour number on it (Seems that's all that can be measured at this point)

To a newer player she is... In terms of skill floor she has the highest one
But that's more of gameplay and time but not something that BHVR can fix
Also being addon dependent is a big issue (yes I know that tons of players will come in and say Nurse isn't addon dependent but let me just say that Range and recharge are the most complained addons)

There is a HUGE difference between hard and bad. They are not the same thing. New players will do well enough with her, because they are matched with other new players. And you can't say strong killers are weak because someone does bad with them.

Yeah bur nurse you get two and your blinks recharge automatically.. huntress with iri head only gets one shot and had to go to a locker to get another, letting you escape in the process

iri head is now worse then base-kit huntress. they need buff it to 2 hatchets. If survivor stay injured, the huntress has 1 hatchet while everyone is injured instead of 5 hatchets. There is also dead hard that tanks hatchets. so you have constantly reload while hitting your single hatchet. this was true before dead hard change but they over-nerfed the add-on since people used to pair this add-on with old ebony mori that killed you in 2 hooks.

Let's say you have dead hard. Let's say she misses. What are you going to do if she has soldier's puttee or if you're in deadzone? And the only thing different about having a mori is - no ds. That's it

Im saying if they miss they dont get another while still chasing you like blight or nurse does, they have to actively break off chase to get another hatchet or continue chasing you as an m1 killer

It may be, but it's not my point. It's not about being overpowered, it's about being boring and having no interaction between survivor and killer.

How long can you keep that up? You can't do it while in deadzone, jungle jyms and L-T walls are pretty much useless and if you are trying to use trees while zigzaging she'll catch up to you very quickly while zoning

115% m1 killer(no power) are easy to loop. Every killer is S-tier in deadzones. Don't go in deadzones as survivor, especially in when your injured. soldier's puttee is junk-tier f-tier brown add-on. nobody uses that. if you want to use iri head add-on, you use deerskin gloves+iri head with iron maiden.
1 ammo is too little currently for add-on. with 5 hatchets, you can potentially hit 5 health-states. with 1 ammo, you can only hit two health-states at most. 3 ammo is little strong considering that 3 hatchet is 6 health-states, but 2 hatchet 4 health-states. if huntress uses iri head, you can just stay injured and use dead hard. She loses more time in chases from missing/tanking hits then she does for using the add-on. it got weakened too severed from old ebony mori+iri head+infantry belt build that people used to run. now it needs a little bit of a buff.

Youre imagining perfect scenarios tho like a narrow hallway that has no obstacles or anything with no space to move at all when this is not the reality, most maps have objects like rocks, walls, etc to duck behind
Its very easy to make her miss that 1 hatchet. I think youre the only one saying iri head is OP

Don't go into dradzones? Are you aware where they are when you spawn? You need to move through the map as you play in order to do gens, totems help teammates etc .and that includes deadzones.

The whole reason behind having 3 health states is for survivor to reposition if they are found. So you most likely would be reloading after every chase without iri and no belt/loop addons. That's not the case with ranged attack that one-shots. You don't get to brake los or go in a building after an initial hit. The chase ends with you on the ground.

I'm not imagining perfect scenarios. I never said they will 100% of the hatchets. And you're missing the point that I was making once again. I never said this addon was too strong. And I don't think it deserves a nerf for that reason, but instead proposed a change for another reason.

being in deadzones is relative to the killer's position. If your injured and half way across the map on mother dwelling and a killer is chasing someone, there is no risk in being injured because your unlikely to take a hit. It is safe to work on generator in many cases when being injured. health-states are only relative towards when you need them.
This is why styptic needles is powerful add-on for med-kits because you can play injured the entire game and any time the killer would down you, the styptic needle grants 8 seconds of endurance. If the killer hits you, you get speed boost, if the killer does not hit you, you get to the pallet which is lose/lose scenario for the killer. Your injured but your add-on prevents you from being punished for being in dead-zone. You get the health-state exactly when you would need to get the health-state to prevent going down.
this is why experienced survivor disregard instant downs as being powerful because you can outplay an instant down by just sticking to the loops. The loops make you safe as survivor as long as you are able to get to them. There is no need to reposition if you already are in position in the first place. Being in position is a given for survivor. Huntress in particular has 40 meter lullaby. there is zero possibility that huntress can ever stealth without the survivor being unaware of her position. The survivor can always be in the position to loop huntress so being out of position is mistake by the survivor. The -4 ammo is too significant of a drawback to outweight the positives of the capacity to instant down. The huntress wastes more time reloading with the add-on than she saves from getting downs with this add-on especially if survivor stays injured and use dead hard as second-chance towards the power.

I know it is iri, its trash-tier iri. it does not belong an iri, even if the add-on has no drawbacks and just boosted huntress movement speed by 5% flat. it would still be terrible add-on. Huntress relies on her ability. not the base m/s. The add-on is suppose to improve the ability and this add-on improves base-stats of a killer instead of improving the hatchets(power) which is most important aspect of the killer.

The same argument can be made for the killer. If you're skilled you should be able to hit your hatchets

If the killer chasing someone else it affects the entire team. Just because you're not it deadzone, doesn't mean they are not. Styptic? Will every survivor start with styptic if you bring iri head? You're grasping at straws here. And second as killer you can see medkit disappear so you know when they have it and can outplay it. Her lullaby has no range or direction. So no you can't reposition every time you hear it, because you will be doing nothing the entire game and will lose. And since you bringing reload in here, I've already said that most likely you'll be reloading after every chase with 5 hatchets anyway. And soldier's puttee is not trash, it does its purpose. It terms of better mobility and helping you get hits at loops you can't land hatchets because of her 110% movement speed.

I can understand you not liking the addon because it counters dead hard or whatever. The huntress trades one killing shot with no reload for a chance to damage multiple survivors within seconds without moving. The second option is far more damaging than the other.
