Medium vaults should be removed from the game.

It should only be slow vault, and fast vault.

Just remove Medium vaults and don't replace it with anything. So the only prompts are slow vault, and running vault -IF- I get the angle right. So I can spam space bar while running from the killer and only get a vault if I get the Running Vault angle right.

That's it.

Fast vaults should also be removed and so should slow vaults Windows should only exist for me to hyuck hatchets through

No. Medium vaults serve a very fair purpose of making it that survivors cannot vault at maximum efficiency if it doesn't follow their movement trajectory. Survivors therefore need to plan their routes properly to be able to fast vault, and certain windows can't be fast vaulted when looped repeatedly as it'd be too unfair (particularly versus 110s.)

Why not remove vaults entirely from the game? Serious question.

thats one of the things that requires skill as survivor, please keep it

How about an activatable perk that makes fast ones but on a cooldown? That way you can have fast vaults when needed or if you aren't talented at good running but sacrafice a slot for it

No. Also that’s enough survivor nerf ideas for today thank you.

    Ok sure, remove medium vaults.

But every vault that would have been a medium is now a slow vault.

    uhh

no thanks but you can go play some old dbd if you want that 👍

So a fast vault regardless of angle? That was how it used to be before that realised it was way too easy to loop

this kinda made me wonder: why isn't there a medium vault for pallets? Wonder how much difference it would make if they were applied but only to safe pallets (as it would obviously nerf the hell out of unsafe ones)

I remember building a discussion about it a long time ago.

It seemed odd to me to just stand there in front of the pallet without assistance and vault quickly.

My guess is that they didnt apply the change way back when to pallets because it would make short loops pretty much guaranteed hits, so I understand it there. But half of why safe loops are as safe as they are is because of the speed you can vault from a complete standstill, would be interesting if there was more room for error in judging distance/mindgames specifically in those ones to make them more reasonable.

That’s not a great idea. It makes looping well around tiles much less skillful and certain tiles way stronger due to no longer forcing medium vaults.

How would clown and Freddy even work? Their main power is basically to force medium vaults at windows for hits

    Okay, then how about this.

Just remove Medium vaults and not replaced by anything. So the only prompts are slow vault, and running vault -IF- I get the angle right. So I can spam space bar while running from the killer and trying to get the angle right.

Right now, medium vaults annoy me. I'll get a medium vault when trying to angle for a fast vault because of how the space bar prompt works and the angles. Sometimes it's only a fraction of a second to hit the Running Vault prompt... it sucks, i'm not a robot with robot reaction speed. It's really annoying when you're trying to angle correctly for a fast vault, and you hit space bar a fraction of a second wrong, and boom, you get a medium vault instead and get downed by killer. I really dislike that.

or this. I would use a perk slot for this. Getting medium vaults and getting downed by killer as you are literally on the other side of a window just sucks.

what in your infinite knowledge and experience made you come to this idea

If you're a survivor, medium vaults are a hindrance and a thorn in side, they get them downed when they don't want it.

If you are in a chase, you want a fast vault 100% of the time.

If you are not in a chase, you want a slow vault.

Medium vaults are useless for survivors and it makes no sense to force me into one when I don't want to.

Medium vaults are only helpful for the killer. They ruin loops when you're trying to go for the fast vault angle and you have to time the space bar button within a fraction of a second to hit "Running Vault" prompt, or else it goes back to Medium vault.... which gets you downed by killer. It's really annoying getting hit with a medium vault and watching your character on the other side of the window, what should be outside of m1 range.... but still being downed by killer.

Well it'd be really hard for killers to loop on tiles with strong windows, and it'll become a lot easier as survivor. The existence of medium vaults makes looping much more skillful and harder. Personally I don't have any issues with looping. You have to know when to medium vault, like if you have enough distance from the killer. If you can't reach the window since all you can do is medium vault, maybe try faking the window or 360ing?

Medium vaults didn't exist once upon a time, and it was horrible.

Then we will add more changes to fix the rest.

For survivors, remove medium vaults, so survivors aren't forced into medium vaults when they don't want it.

To balance this for killers, re-design all the auto-generated jungle gyms and stuff on every map. There aren't that many maps, you can do this. Go to every single window/vault location on every map, and/or fix the auto generation tiles, so that the fast vaults would be more balanced.

Think about it - you are saying it's horrible if someone only fast vaults... but that it is entirely possible right now if a Survivor has incredible practice and timing and knows how to hit the angles. So some survivors are making the game horrible for you, right now. But everyone else, who can't hit them, at different MMR's... are having a different experience. These changes seek to make it more uniform across the board.

My suggestion removes your problem. Now the game is more fun for both sides. All survivors of all skill levels have more control over their character instead of being roped into an animation they do not want (which is not fun), and all killers of all skill levels have more uniform and fair chases against the survivors they encounter.

This makes the game more fun and gives it a uniform experience across all MMR's. Looping will be more of the fast decision making you do on where to run, instead of some stupid fraction of a second, hit the right angle, medium vault crap. It doesn't even make sense as to why a Survivor would go into a medium vault with a killer behind you anyway

    No, medium vaults are fine.

Survivors would also like to run faster than the killer. Do we add that as well? Also a survivor never wants to go down. That has nothing to do with medium vaults. As a survivor, you never want to get hit. Why would you? THAT doesn't make any sense.

Of course medium vaults are a hinderence for survivors. They are supposed to help the killer out. You can even get grabbed while medium vaulting. Imagine how strong shack and other already strong loops become with this. Medium vaults add another layer of skill to looping and are an important part of the game. Removing them would end in total chaos.

In addition let me explain: There is a difference between a wall and a window. I know it might be hard to grasp but you can only vault windows in the first place because they are in fact not walls. That also means a killer could stretch out their arm and try to hit you on the other side.
