How often you guys see teams with 3 or 4 medkits?

I came back to dbd after a break and I've noticed teams are stacking 3/4 medkits very often, not sure if its just because of the event or if its an established meta now. Does this happen often in your games as well?

Very often, and its been like this for years. People know that medkits are strong but they dont understand really how strong they really are.

What Id do to fix that is increase the amount of charges it takes per heal. First heal takes 16, then 18, 20, 22 and then 24 would be the max. Because of this change I think Mangled reducing healing speed by 25% would be too much, so reducing that to something like 15% seems appropriate.

To also show what stage a Survivor is at, they could reintroduce the bloody look Survivors would get when healing (was only in 1 PTB) so a killer could have a better idea of how much potential time that Survivor could be wasting

This isnt only a nerf to healing, but again to Medkits as well as they wouldnt get as much value out of them thanks to the increased amount of charges it takes.

Like allmost never. but its been more likely since they killed flashlights

I like the blood look thing, they should reimplement into the game. Mangled would prob still be fine the way it is because boons are still a thing as well, 15% would not be worth using

This is why Franklin's is now always in my build on Pig. Flashlights? Nah, I can easily avoid them most of the time (even before the recent changes to the timing.) But with how often I see 4 Medkits that just completely negate all pressure I might have, yeah. I'm bringing Franklin's.

I run franklin's about 90% of the time too. Medkits + toolboxes + spray (wesker) = a good time with franklins. Flashlights are just the icing on the cake.

Pretty often. Medkits are the strongest item, and unequivocally your best bet in solo.

As a Plague main, I'm entertained. When I'm playing anyone else, less so.

    Mangled increases healing by 25%,

meaning if it were to stay like that it would look something like this with scaling

    20

    22.5

    25

    27.5

    30

    as opposed to:

    18.4

    20.7

    23

    25.3

    27.6

CoH really isnt that much of an issue even nowadays and certainly wouldnt be if these changes would go through. (other than on maps like Ironworks where its difficult to access the totem)

People are forgetting some people bring med kits because their teammates refuse to heal people. You want survivors to stay injured all the time so you can one shot them? That's what taking away the med kit will do. Why should I not be able to heal because my team refuses to heal. They already nerfed self care don't take away the med kits.

Why must everyone on both sides complain about add ons or perks. I'm beginning to think some forum posters are right. Nothing BHVR does will satisfy both sides. With that said I see less heals during this event then when there wasn't an event.

Aside from the reasons people already listed there is currently a tome challenge to fully deplete 2 medkits.

It happens a lot since I came back.

I see it sometimes (although rarely) but it's not intentional probably cause we're all solos and it's not always guaranteed you'll find someone to heal you. Medkit is probably the most reliable item for solo.

I see it a lot. If I'm playing survivor and the other 3 all have items, I won't take one for fair play reasons lol. Usually see 2 medkits and a flashlight or vice versa

I take my item off if there's too many on the team for fairness reasons.

Same. If my team all have items, I’ll just take mine off. I don’t have to, but it just feels right idk.

Same.. But I would lie if I say that it's because of fairness reasons.. I rather expect Franklins if all four of us bring items

Honeslty not that often, or brown/yellow medkits with little to no interesting addons to them. I'm seeing way more CoH than medkits. Also, a lot of flashlights recently for some reason.

When playing survivor, I actually rarely see anyone bringing items, so our lobbys are mostly 1/2 items and mostly browns or yellows.

I would say more than normal, definitely more 3 man med kits than 4, but I've been seeing them alot more than I would like too. I'm a firm believer in bringing whatever you want, but facing the same thing almost every single game is extremely tough. Especially for playing low tier killer's like ghost face, medi kits seriously hurt his playstyle, at least for me.

Medkits are the strongest items in the game, i see quiet a lot of them, usually brown or yellows

every game has at least 2 medkits, but most games have 4

  • Xernoton

Mostly 3 medkits per game. Sometimes 4. Medkits are another reason you see killers tunneling and overcommitting. Not going after the unhooked survivor guarantees they will be healed the next time you find them. Hits are worth nothing. They cost the killer more time than it takes the survivor to heal. I understand that SoloQ more or less relies on medkits but it's still not a great feeling knowing you can't leave a survivor because then you just wasted your time.

I would be fine with medkits if they didn't stack so well with CoH and other perks. This is where it gets ridiculous.

Quite often. If I'm playing Plague, I laugh.

Most of the time I'll switch a perk for Franklin xD

Looking over my match logs it looks like about an even split between tools and medkits.

  • HellDescent
    HellDescent Member Posts: 4,883

Medkits have always been most powerful item after toolboxes. So after toolboxes were nerfed they became the new best thing

Im bringing strong items because the opponents i face are bringing their best addons and best perks. If they dont, then thats a much easier match for me.

This is over 35 matches. It's usually 3-4 or 0-1 in my experience though.

Edit: maybe if keys or maps were semi useful people would bring other items.

Do you run 0-3 perks? Because all survivors typically run 4 perks.

It killed hit and run killers.

The game is becoming very fun. Genspeeds are still crazy too.

  • Hannacia

All the time. Thats why i run with slobby butcher. If they dont have medkits they are selfcaring in a corner for a minute :)

  • DBD78
    DBD78 Member Posts: 3,464

3-4 medkits makes Franklins worth it, but it's not going to be fun for anyone. Survivors lose their medkits and killer need to use a boring perk to counter them. But thats basicly the game lol

I almost only play survivor so yeah I use medkits all the time and there are often 2-3 others that do so as well.

  • Okonar_
    Okonar_ Member Posts: 499

I'm fine with medkits, they just need to adress the healing speed, idk why you are implying med kits will get removed, I didn't ask for that in this post I'm just wondering how popular med kits are these days. Imo self care nerf was completely unnecessary and doesn't even make sense since med kits are way stronger than self care.
