Noticing that there are a lot of bans whenever...
...stats come out or an accessibility issue is added.
What a time to be alive!

Sometimes it brings a smile to my face and I go, "Yup, that person was just a matter of time."

I know, right?

I feel you! There was someone on here I kept having run ins with and was praying they'd get a ban. They were always so negative, rude and condescending in every response. My wish was granted. What made this even sweeter was they were banned for responses to one of my posts lol. Good riddance.

I've seen like 6+
It's pretty nutty, haha

I think we are all in for the chopping bloc, its just a matter of time. As I see it most people start to get very burned out with the forum and they only escalate and escalate until you see it coming from a mile away. I think the mods should issue more temporal bans (especially to new arrivals) and less permanent ones because its always the same, new arrivals burn the veterans, they get banned, the new arrivals become veterans and a new batch burns them in turn.
On a sidenote Im weirded Ive not been banned yet (or some other people for that matter).

When you get the better of a troll and press the flag button yourself:

I just hope that I might not be banned one time, because of my run-ins with popular forum members, then ^_-

Don't break the rules and you are...
UNBANNABLE!
1 -
Obnoxious forum users hate this one, simple trick.
4 -
Another stats drop and yet, I survive.
6 -
How do yall even know there are bans happening? Re-reading older threads?

:D

For me is "Why is X not battering heads against me/OP/thatguy on this thread?" then I check and I see the ban.
1 -
Most of the time I see them happen in real time lol. They'll be going back and forth with someone on a thread and all of a sudden have a banned icon.
3 -
Just see people turn into the grey ban avatar as the thread progresses.

Being new or a 'veteran' shouldn't have any impact. It's simply a case of being respectful to others and being mature when you engage in a debate. It's okay to disagree with someone, but people seem to forget this and assume it's a personal attack.
I'm sure the people who have been banned don't get banned for their first offence. It's most likely a repetitive behaviour until the mods have had enough.

I believe there must be a new mod that came fairly recent that must be tasked exclusively with banning.
From what i have seen, there have been a lot of bans of forum users in september-october period.
4 -
That's very true, I myself often get attacked for my observations and opinions made on the forum such as that 65% Is almost 70%. People need to learn it's ok to disagree and can be polite about it.

Hey... what's up all.... I'm still here
But seriously... I fell like some of those people have shaken the pot a bit to much with either not caring what they say or how they say it
Like last week I noticed some typed (a word I can't type) so I told them to fix it before they get banned... but they got banned
All I could do is laugh though

And then there's me 💅
I think I might be the last non-mod Forum Veteran there is

NEW MOD?
I couldn't figure it out myself since there is no update on the community team page... Who is it?
But well, it is a bit sad to see users who were discussing just a few minutes ago suddenly disappear. I can understand users who are clearly in violation of the rules, but sometimes I am surprised to hear "This person is banned!?" I am sometimes surprised.
It's the same in the English forum.
2 -
People just need to learn to self-regulate. The beauty of the internet is that you don't have to reply immediately, especially if you've typed out your response and it's pretty heated. Don't press post, just close the page, go get an ice cream or something and chill out for a bit. Sometimes you'll get back and realise the conversation actually wasn't a productive use of your time anyway.

Why do I find that smile oddly cute?

Including our beloved Sluzzy, I hope they don't give up and get back in here, lol
3 -
I think the whole offense system is a little outdated too.
I messed up over a year ago and definitely broke the rules, I think there should be some decay period where it's obvious that this person isn't a repeat offender
6 -
i dont know, but sth must have changed because i started seeing a lot more bans in the last two month

Could be new mod? I've seen quite many people banned now and just have one question in my mind why? But seems like they brole rules but before I didn't see anyone getting banned so that just makes me wonder.

Yeah it was always fun to read her/his threads.
1 -
Is that what the little jailbar icons mean by someone's username means? I've noticed those more lately.
1 -
Im just that forgettable huh 😩
(assuming were going off when you joined the forums)
0 -
I do not. They deserved the ban that they got
2 -
As long as you keep responses Civil and respectful and don't try to push your opinion onto others as fact or law then you'll be good
0 -
Yes that means your put into time out jail the grey PfP with the dash through it means your banned from the forums if I'm correct

I use quite a lot of machine translation about English words that I don't understand because they are poorly expressed, so I apologize if there are English words that I shouldn't use... But I am afraid that I might be banned because of those words that I shouldn't use.

^ this, I have like 70 drafts I've just walked away from. I come back an hour later and just don't care anymore lol

Good lord, the urge to improve the drawings..
0 -
You want to? They were animated, improve them and I'd be down to commission for them.
But I think they look great as is.

I got improved alot in this sketchy style (thanks to alot lot of commissions of this style) to the point I cant look back to my early drawings
I believe I can redo the Nurse one both better and faster.
2 -
This is very wise and many could learn from your example.

I'll be in touch!

I'm sure the people who have been banned don't get banned for their first offence. It's most likely a repetitive behaviour until the mods have had enough.
This is a problem for me, it looks like there is a strike system and new arrivals can be extremely flamey and piss off people who have been here for a lot of time and are burned out because they had to deal with swarms of beligerant threads for a year or so, pushing them to the edge until they explode but since recently joined people have no strikes yet they get away with it.
What I suggested for more temporal bans for newer people was aimed towards those "10 posts" guys who just open extremely beligerant threads and tend to not listen to anyone even when the responses are level headed and everyone agrees, temporal bans should be issued not only for burst of anger but also for repeatedly making flaming posts or threads which some newcomers are extremely guilty (until they themselves get permabanned).
Long story short, I believe a "lurk moar" short ban system could be helpful to curb the flamey nature of the forum.
Which weirded me because he was always super correct, I guess either someone got the better of him or it was deemed too flamy.
Yeah, IMO it seems like there is this acumulative system where you earn points towards a ban and I dont think it has decay or at least it doesnt look like it, that also pairs well with newcomers being extremely trolly and flamy and not being at least temporal banned, it feels to let very new people has a "period of grace" being flamers until they get enough strikes but until that happen a lot of people get burned in those threads and become gray avatars. Thats why I think we are all victims in waiting.

I am pretty sure the mods will notice that English isn’t your native language and will act accordingly (maybe edit your post and inform you without outright giving an official warning) - as long as you stay polite and respectful, don’t post leaks etc, you shouldn’t be banned like that

get on my level

MFW I eventually get banned.

Thank you kindly for sharing with me.
In fact, I am often emotional and I am ashamed of it. I was even temporarily banned for emotional language when the Japanese forum was still up and running.
I am conscious to refrain from that... One step of machine translation might be a little just right for a cool down.
However, I also like sarcasm and jokes myself, so I'm concerned if they are translated correctly (I'm afraid if it's a terrible rant).

No you can have it. It's fine.

Oh yeah, when I was newish here 3.5 years ago I got in an argument with someone and it heated up quickly. I said something I shouldn't have, but at that time I was just frustrated. Nothing happened again if I remember correctly.

Same.
Its a miracle!

I did not expect to see a Conker gif on the forums this morning. Well done, @Cybil
