I'll Be Paranoid About Subtle Cheaters Tomorrow...
So, pull up a chair/beanbag/stool/comfortable piece of floor. It's storytime.
Had some really good SWFs today, but one in particular stayed with me.
This lot were a weird, Resident Evil themed group, all anonymous, who sent me to The Game. On Ghostface (blaaah).
Get my first down almost immediately, as I catch Ada on a gen and stalk her to max. Actually, I'm nailing them - easy stalks, getting kills left right and center, Surge going off constantly - but the gens are flying, 3 down within the first 4 minutes or so. Must be PTS and Hyperfocus or something. But I'm hanging in there with Surge and Discordance. They're doing great work at sabos and bodyblocking, so hooks are tricky. But very, very easy to catch - with one exception.
Their Leon was incredible - running OoO and Dead Hard. Always got out of dodge the second I started stalking him. Looped like a maniac, immune to mindgames. Perfect Dead Hards, no matter how I try to bait them, so I'm trying to brute force a stalk. Finally I corner him after an unhook, stalk and down him - and he Smash Hits me. Huh, well played. Been a while since I saw that. Okay, game on!
Next time, he Head Ons me. What an odd build - 3 Ex perks and OoO? And I could swear I saw a Lithe. They've also got CoH, Shadowstep, Exponential and Dark Theory (guessing) on someone. Maybe that's why they are burning gens?
Very tough game, with a lot of work I get everyone besides him on 2 hooks but they're healing like demons - it's only still going because they 3genned themselves.
Finally, after a good 10 minutes of back and forth I kill Ada and Claire, somehow manage to grab Leon off a gen, while Jill finishes it. Eh, I planned to let Jill get hatch anyway.
He unhooks himself first try and they end up with a 2 out. Well, GG - weird game, but fun.
Then, postgame, I check the perks. The only boon they have is CoH and Leon has neither Smash Hit, Lithe nor Head On on his bar. No PTS, no Hyperfocus, no faster gen perks at all.
Sigh.
The scary thing about this - if I hadn't thought to check, I'd have just written it off as an odd game. There was something off, but nothing overly suspicious.
Going to be paranoid tomorrow.

Are you kidding? With the amount of paranoia I have? Every time someone out plays me they're obviously a sussy subtle cheater. Sure I might be right 5% of the time but they'll never pull the wool over my eyes, I see right through them!

The issue is how much control survivors really have over the game right now. Anything can happen and you're sitting there going "Is that a perk, or are they cheating?"
Running slightly faster than normal? Maybe Hope or Dark Theory.
Dead Hard perfectly? Could just be lucky/attentive.
Scratch Marks just vanish? Theres basically a wikipedia on those alone.
Gens flying? Theres so many gen speed builds.
Healing instantly? Medkits are actually OP, but could also be cheaters because theres practically no difference kek
Theres too much survivors can change with perks, This isnt a bash at survivors being too powerful (except medkits) but every move a survivor makes raises the question "Is that a cheat, a perk, skill, or pure luck?"

Mm. The really annoying thing? I'm not going to sit and record every single match just because something was weird. I can record an overt hacker, but this group was quite smart and never did anything too suspicious, so I didn't think to record it until I saw the post game screen.

It's the day after today so I assume it's OP saying that they're going to pay extra attention to things after this match they had

Nothing, I'm just trying to finish off the Halloween stuff. I just mean that after that match, where it was merely a bit of an odd one but not suspicious, and it turned out that they were cheating a lot but doing it very subtly, I'm going to be looking at every single odd moment wondering if it's another hacker.
He used multiple perks that he didn't have equipped, and they definitely had a stacked boon despite only CoH being equipped so...yeah. At least 2 were cheating, and as it was a full SWF, the rest were suspicious too.

Oh ok. I thought that there maybe was a tournament or that someone with an exceptional high kill rate finally agreed to stream or something like that.

I agree.
Now in regard of the topic. The problem with getting paranoid because of subtle cheaters is, that we end up with everyone reporting everyone. Be it because something sus went on or because people don´t know perks/addons. I really hope that the devs improve in that regard.
