Challenges like this need to be removed
This is why my teammates go in with BTL, a toolbox, sabo 4 hooks and die asap.

Same. If the challenger requires 8 or 12 hooks, I just bring built to last too.

Sadly, there are many challanges that require you to run trash builds or perks and most people just want to get it over with ASAP. I know on the last tome, that "take 12 protection hits" challenge had me running a sabo build that was annoying AF just so I could take as many protection hits as possible. I never touched a generator any of the games I ran it. Basically threw the game like 3-4 times.
This is part of why the 'party game' mindset should be part of the community instead of this constant sweating to victory we have now. The game's design and player behaviors just do not line up right.

There's quite a few challenges I dislike, especially ones that force you to use one perk. In fairness to the devs, there's only so many challenges you could come up with because of limited mechanics. Luckily, it's not necessary to do every challenge to complete The Rift in a reasonable amount of time.
(Whoops, just realized you were talking about Daily Rituals. Yeah, a lot of those need work too.)

I wouldn't say it needs to go completely, reworked for sure with all the dailies. I do at least wish that people with the sabo daily/missions would at least try to make a play out of it vs randomly doing it to every hook they come across...

If it wasn't for these things i probably wouldn't ever sabo a hook. These kind of challenges nudge people to try different things.
Not everyone wants to play 100% optimal all of the time.

These challenges usually take so long for me ! I'll bring Protective Gloves if I can, and then promptly forget I have to sabo hook and go through the game normally. I keep hoping I'll have an actual occasion to make a sabo play, for one, two, three games, then I'll finally say the heck with it and sabo random hooks.

I can see why they'd have these challenges. You're supposed to do them when there's an opportunity for it to be benifitial, like preventing a scourge hook.
Problem is nothing stops a survivor from completing the challenge in one trial without it being helpful to escaping.

I think rift challenges like "hide within 1 meter of the killer for 10 minutes" which is in almost every single stage and tome, needs to go. More than that. But we still get those.

Eh, I just run Saboteur and drop nearby hook when I'm done with a gen. No sense wasting a toolkit on it.
If they wanted it to be beneficial to the trial they could create dailies for healing X number of health states or repairing X equivalent of gens. Instead they make it like tome entries, so it gets treated like tome entries. To be honest it's usually more fun than actually trying to win a solo queue trial.

Ever since the 100% Survivor Queue bonus, I have never gotten a Survivor Ritual.
