So apparently this happened a few days ago.
It goes without saying, but I wish him all the best. It looks like he's working on the same project as McLean; a new Aliens game

I was thinking that. Hopefully this Aliens game is to Aliens the movie, as Alien: Isolation was to Alien.

I just hope we get a decent replacement. I know alot of people didn't like him but we can definitely get worse.

Probably a breath of fresh air to work on a completely different type of game. I imagine DbD would be a very hard game to work on. The community is extremely opinionated with a massive skill gap between top-mid-bottom tier players. And you also have to consider that there is going to be disagreement internally about the direction of the game. BHVR isn't single minded.

Damn, a shame, I've liked seeing him around on the forums and in the livestreams. Well, I certainly wish him the best in his future endeavours, and may even be more inclined to check that Alien game out when it's out knowing he worked on it.

"If you make a skilled play and you end up dying, was it really a skilled play at all?" Plus the preceding bit that was something like "players tell me they unhooked 18 people and looped the killer for 6 gens but then died at the end of the match..."
He got a lot of flack for defending MMR and comparing DBD to hockey in one of the Q&As. That said, his "last day" Twitter comment chain is friggin' hilarious and I wish him all the best on his new projects.

"We have no intention of making DS basekit." Plain and simple. Maybe dodging the question, but what he said came true. Any other game's community would be excited when a dev answers like that.
The hockey comparison was in poor taste, but we can't hold him to the fire just for that and a few other slights.

Lot of undeserved flack imo
Nothing of what he said was wrong and the only thing the hockey thing proved is that there is a loud part of the community that isn't bright enough to understand how analogies work
